Deadlock is currently in a beta of "Geee, I hope no one shares the beta invite *wink wink nudge nudge*" and these are the stats right now. It's gonna be a success.

I really hope that this is a harbinger of a 1983-tier video game bust. The industry desperately needs to be reset. It’s the only way to fix wokeness, along with a bunch of other systemic problems, like prepaying for games that turn out to be shit, gacha games/lootboxes, and games as a service instead of a product.

This needs to go down like the ET game.
 
$200 million development, not including marketing (amazon plug probably isn't cheap), and not including what sony spent to buy the studio.
 
Would any of that exclusive merch like the Concord PS5 controller be worth buying as a collectors item? It really is a part of history and would be exceedingly rare :story:
 
Glad this failed... This is when you're trying to sell diversity instead of an actual product for people to care about. I'm sure Sony is already working on the next shitty game with a cast full of gay coons.

This whole thing is so strange to me.
Think of it this way: There are three groups of people.
One says "The emperor has no clothes" because it is true.​
The other says "The emperor is wearing clothes" because they know if they say otherwise they'll have their heads chopped off.​
The third says "The emperor is surely wearing clothes" and is certain of it.​
This whole project feels like they gave all the decision-making power to people in the third category; people who genuinely, incorrectly, believed that this thing would sell.
God help us all.
 
holy shit i didnt expect full refund and closure. I did expect them to silently kill this or turn it into a F2P game (The base character design are so awful that if you made semidecent looking customization option to sell you could make some money). Im guessing well see a game using the same engine/base game in a year or two fully rebranded. Theres no way this thing been in development that long and they just completely kill it.

Anyone remember the other upcoming Sony GAAS game. I didn't until I heard someone bring it up few days ago in relation to this game.
1 year old CGI trailer, no news since. Likes to dislike, is 3.4k vs 17k

That one has flop all over it as well, but I doubt Sony will do the smart thing Sega did with Hyenas rather than throwing more good money after bad. Maybe they will make that one F2P, least people have a reason to check it out out of curiosity rather than risk $40 on a game which may have no players.
