No further comments about this faggot necessary.

And here's someone with a non-insane take.

The good ol' "we got too many sick days- wait why'd you show up? You're coughing and drooling all over the place!" dilemma.
Tbh, if you’ve been working at your career for five-ish years and you don’t have the ability to network, you done goofed. It basically means you’re an unlikeable asshole and I have zero tolerance for soi disant subject matter experts who act like prima donnas.
Even near the absolute bottom of a multi-profession establishment, I'm seeing underqualified people get put into better jobs simply from networking in the tunnels under the offices. On one hand it's positive cause you see a way out other than stacking years on your resume, but the other, you realize that finding a new job, you have to outdo another company's internal structure. You can apply for 10 jobs and 8 of those will be internal promotions, wasting everyone else's time.

This is my inner MBA talking but I’ve always liked networking because you become a known quantity and you establish a reputation for delivering quality work versus an unknown who lies his ass off on the resume. I’ve been hiring for a decade now and on one hand it’s fun finding the numerous lies and buzzwords integrated into the resume but on the other hand, it’s time I’ll never get back and time better spent on other things (like shitposting).

A lot of this is due to the pajeetification of white collar labor where resumes now have to be gross exaggerations, outright lies, and keywords that get their names on top of the stack so now everyone has to follow suit or else they won’t get an interview, especially white guys. Networking isn’t perfect but it cuts through a lot of bullshit. I highly recommend it, especially if you do a good job because that’s not enough these days, even with the competency crisis.

8 of those will be internal promotions
Where the fuck do you live that internal promotions still exist?? Most companies have pivoted to the "hire inexperienced rando who drives away the competent/passionate employees that would have been promoted to that position in the past and who are getting too expensive to keep" model.

Not only that, but with the advent of things like ChatGPT, you don't even need humans to do the data analysis. You don't need someone to be watching you, the system does it itself.
My company sends you an automated email of ‘insights’ each week. Stuff like ‘you spent x hours working outside your scheduled hours’ as ‘you spent x hours in collaboration.’ The intent is very clearly not to help people understand where they spend their time but to say the company is watching you.
They do not want to be in a situation where key individuals are important enough to their operations that they can ask for more benefits of better conditions
They sure don’t. The thing is while nobody is irreplaceable at work, some people are harder to replace than others. During coof, HR were rabid about shot compliance. One of my best colleagues refused and got a religious exemption but they refused to put it in writing and held it over her head. She politely asked multiple times and HR kept fucking with her. She got another better paid job within 48 hours and left. Apparently (and she’s not one to lie) senior exec level management called her and begged her to stay. She said the guy was actually begging her. She still quit. I assume the HR wonk got fired.
Expecting applicants, not paid employees, to be on call for any number of tasks from 8AM to at least 11PM is retarded. Calling at 8 just to see if someone answers is especially retarded and would merit a violent reaction.
I was chatting to one of our medical officers a while back. She’s on call permanently, o lay off when she’s on PTO and paid a fortune for it. Apparently she’s only once rage quit a job. One client called her all week at times between midnight at 4am ‘to test if she would pick up because he didn’t trust her’ (she’s a visiting prof of some incredibly niche speciality and could pick her employment at will, also very professional and well regarded.) and she was so furious she left. Ooops. Good luck replacing her.
Modern corporate culture is absolute cancer. I am so so sick of it.
My LinkedIn is as bare bones as it can be. I still get recruiters, constantly. Mainly for jobs that are the same job I’m doing now but no increase in pay or reduction in hours. I even get them messaging me with ‘hello {name}…’ like literally with ‘name’ written instead of my actual name. During coof, so many people quit I was getting maybe ten genuine approaches some days. I began to really, really enjoy teasing them
‘Do you require the Covid shot as a condition of employment?’
Yes
‘Oh dear, well obviously doing what I do I haven’t had one.’
Ok. Well we can’t go forward then.
‘Sure no problem you have a lovely day!’
(Ten minutes later…)
Say why is that ?
‘Oh I’m sure you’ll be fine dont worry about it I probably shouldnt have said.’

The intent is very clearly not to help people understand where they spend their time but to say the company is watching you.
I can't :agree: this enough. Most people have no idea how much the companies around them (not just the ones they work for) can and do track them, even in meatspace.
Most people don't look up, but I recommend everyone start getting in that habit even if they have to set a timer on their phone to remind them to do so. The number of sensors and cameras above you at any given point in any given location is insane.

Would be really funny if she demanded a literal Triumph.

This, so much this. Even where I'm from just to get a job out of school you have to really either network hard, win some competitions, or graduate with an honor to get onto the corporate ladder. I don't think it's at the level of gross exaggerations or outright lies yet, but I think that we're definitely going to get there once the pool of incoming students and graduates becomes larger than the pool of resume-boosting competitions, internships, organizational positions, and college recruitment programs.

All so they can say "We reached out to 100 potential future employees this month, 10% up year-on-year", while doing nothing. But it looks good on the KPI's and resume!
"We are have management skills"

"Skills you can't put on paper or even formulate into words"
Proceeds to immediately do that. Not even going to touch how basic bitch those skills are.

At least she (and it's obviously a woman) isn't a teacher anymore.
If anything I would think management skills are the easiest to put on paper or into words, because communicating is basically the whole point of management. If you actually have management skills, you can communicate. Granted, that is something teachers should know how to do, because that's their whole job.

I think that sometimes these corporate hustle culture people are coping. I know someone who worked at a big bank and said that they were working so hard they never had time to spend their salary. Others who live with their family, and, counting up their salaries, found out they would be barely treading water if they had to rent or if they got regular coffees or ate out a lot. Friend of mine got burned out after two years at one of the Big 4 (edit: MBB consulting, not the big 4 accounting. Shows how corporate I am.) and took a few months off - living off savings. None of them are corporate cucks posting dumb shit on Linkedin, but it makes me think all of this dumb shit posting is cope that their lives are boring at best, boring + treading water financially due to lifestyle inflation on average, and boring + treading water + dissatisfied at worst. It's from this last batch who feel like they were sold a bill of goods that the worst of this comes from.

This quit your job start your own business shit is a mind virus and hes actually an awful person for reinforcing a corruptive isolating mindset in young men. He talks about how you shouldn't go out and party because your friends aren't on the "same level" as you its like no retard you're in your 20s go out and party thats what your 20s are for. Even when you have a career and settle down with someone you both need to have friends that you can go hang out with every now and then to get away. Its how you have a healthy relationship.

Most of his videos seem like cope material for grindset/self-optimization chumps who have lost or never had friends. They're just jealous that you've become your own helicopter parent, bros! Grind harder, become even more of a machine, keep the faith! Good things will come your way if you hit those metrics hard enough for long enough!

I feel nothing but pity for them honestly. A few of them will probably actually get rich and then what? They're 40-50 years old retired living in a mansion with literally no one else, Being wealthy is only fun when you have someone else to share the wealth with and when that fact hits them I think it will be pretty messy.

Won't someone please think of the clout-chasers!

I think these people are universally scumbags. I think most people have this shit completely assbackwards because most twentysomethings have no fucking clue what constitutes a successful business nor do they have an actually good idea. Yeah some do have good ideas that young but let’s face it, it’s one in a billion type of frequency. So you’re going to advise most young men go broke, struggle to make ends meet instead of getting some stable employment, some savings, and the possibility of having a life, just so you can be one of millions of “entrepreneurs” who do the same thing millions of others are doing.

For anyone who actually wants to start a business, do it on the side first. You’ll find that your idea sucks and you were better off hanging onto your 9-5. Maybe you’ll have a good idea someday. If you think “I just hate working for someone else” you’re NGMI.

If you boss actually owns the business and isn't a manager depending what hes actually like Sitting down and having a smoke/drink with him while he goes through the problems that comes with running a business is how youre going to learn that shit or atleast paying attention to what he bitches about

It also reminds me of the old manosphere shit where they advocate quitting your job, moving to Vietnam and argue on the internet all day. Or be a dropshipper where you work all day selling cellphone parts to make what an accountant makes right out of school. Anytime these assholes say how much money they make, they should be more than happy to share their financials. They can redact the confidential items but they should be able to prove that they make a high enough net income to show it’s worth it.

I remember some dong on the old bodybuilding.com forums about a dropshipper who claimed to make half a million per year. Eventually he admitted it was revenue and he only made about $50,000 a year. This nigger talked about hustling nonstop and from a pure time perspective, an accounting major getting their first job out of school was likely to make more money just working 40 hours a week.

Most internet entrepreneurs are lying their asses off. If they can’t prove what they do actually makes the kind of income they’re bragging about, it’s bullshit.

Never trust anyone on the Internet talking about their income. Similarly, everyone in the US seems to make 6 figures doing apprenticeships for a trade with a paid off house.
