Got something that might interest you all.
Apparently, this guy is involved in running a wrestling promotion or he IS the boss. It's a little fed called
NPWL - National Pro Wrestling League. They're apparently trying get on TV with this. Cory's girlfriend seems to be in on whatever Cory is trying to pull here. She tweeted at Destination America, saying "Your
viewer's
miss me. I guarantee this show, will have the best ratings."
This already seems stupid on the surface, but gets even dumber when you realize that DA didn't have a great time with wrestling. She worked at Ring of Honor, which only briefly aired on Destination America, and despite my feelings on the show, the fact is that it got poor ratings and was dropped, along with TNA Impact by the end of 2015. The latter was basically a total lolcow of a company at the time, but you can look up "LOLTNA history" if you're curious about that. In short, Destination America tried pandering to its redneck audience by bringing in pro wrestling, but instead ended up wasting their time with TNA Impact (a show that was too expensive, hard to sell advertisement time on, and was run by an utter fool of a president) and ROH (a show that basically no one watched on that channel). Now that I think about it, DA probably don't want to go near pro wrestling again.
Anyways, back to our boy, Cory. NPWL has a
youtube page, and shares some of its matches there. Smart move, Taeler is kind of a draw if the numbers on ROH's youtube channel can be trusted. I looked up "Taeler Hendrix vs" and happened to find Taeler Hendrix Vs Gisele Shaw from NPWL's youtube channel. Sure enough, likes and dislikes are disabled, along with the comments. I guess our boy knows his real reputation. One of the other videos there is titled "Cory Machado Vs Sinn Bodhi" - which doesn't actually have Machado wrestling much.
I skimmed through it, even by wrestling standards, this took too fucking long to do what it was meant to do. Basically, it turned into a match between actual pro wrestler Hernandez vs Sinn Bodhi. I didn't finish it, by the time they started, I was actually falling asleep a little. Most of the videos have at least a few thousand views. I didn't check all of them, but most of them seem to have the same conditions - disabled comments and likes/dislikes. Except for the TV demo, you can like/dislike, but comments are still not allowed. A few videos have laughably low views. I guess Cory didn't have enough money for that many viewership bots.
As for the TV demo, Cory is trying to get that little shit of a company on TV. Nevermind that bigger companies have tried and failed, he is going for it. On twitter, NPWL has a hashtag
https://twitter.com/hashtag/NPWL?src=hash
This is why I'm here. The top tweet I see is this:
http://archive.is/hlP3U
which would indicate that they DID land a TV deal somewhere. Except, upon googling, I couldn't find a damn thing. You'd think the youtube account would mention a time slot of some sort. The twitter account also claims that
http://archive.is/jq95i
they got an "ESPN News Anchor representing NPWL!!!"
Right below that, I see this
http://archive.is/Qm7zv
which looks like the same guy, but with a wrestling outfit. Either this is some bad attempt at looking like a legit company, or it's one of those weird pro wrestling gimmicks. I don't think he'll attract many fans with an ESPN anchor character. Anyways, they also got american football player Walter Thurmon III (who won a super bowl, ffs) to appear for their show, he can be seen in the second video I mentioned. I thought this was completely ridiculous and possibly fake since his wikipedia doesn't mention this appearance at all. But this article does talk about him venturing into pro wrestling.

Cory is mentioned there, simply as a wrestler who is just starting his career. Nothing about him being a soccer player or Real Portugal.
I did some last minute digging before finally hitting "post reply" - Taeler Hendrix tweets about NPWL being "headed to TV!" but never says what channel. A few fans even asked, but got no responses. Just thought I'd share this.
