The sweet irony being that Chinny is exactly the one who should worry about COVID-19, influenza, and the common cold. I think it is safe to say that normal, healthy, young and young-ish people are taking minor common sense precautions such as amping up the hand washing, avoiding large gatherings, making sure we have OTC meds like tylenol and other fever reducers in the house and some extra non perishable foods. The fact that Chinny thinks she is special and above it all just reinforces how she perceives herself- entitled. This is my first and last bit of PL on here. But to answer your question, yes, actually, I did vaccinate myself against the flu for the last 3 years.

If it was "just a flu" as Chantal claims then why would universities across Canada shut down? Why are stores shutting down? Why are people practicing social distancing and isolating themselves? If I were Chinny, I’d buy a 100-lb bag of rice and 2 months’ worth of canned beans while things are still relatively calm. When (if) shit hits the fan, be it for the virus or because of the economic disaster that will ensue, it’s gonna be each one for themselves and survival of the fittest. It has been proven to be deadlier than the flu especially to ppl with preexisting conditions. The world is not ready for it. There is not enough icu beds or staff. At some point, doctors will have to make a decision who to save and who to let die. It is possible the lockdown will help slow it down. It’s too early to tell. But when this is over it will make the flu look like a small cold. Also there isn’t enough tests in the US at this time so it is everywhere it may just not look like it because they can’t test everyone yet. The federal government in the US has just allowed for private companies to make tests without having to jump through hoops of fda. But if you ask me as a health care worker who exposes myself to this every time I walk in to work, it’s too late.
