Cracked.Com then and now

Seanbaby is a blessing unto the world. I've spent far too much time reading his reviews of bad romance tip books or horrible celebrity workout videos. He doesn't bitch about politics, he just makes witty observations about the decrepit, pizza grease-stained people who write sex manuals.

Yeeeah, about that...

DAMMIT SEANBABY

Yeah Seanbaby has a massive mohawked hate-boner for Trump. Pretty good article otherwise but I usually cut him some slack since even when he is being political he still manages to actually be funny.

Unlike David "Totally a white guy and closet racist" Wong and J.F. "eat a bullet already" Sargent who have completely ruined Cracked.

Is it possible Wong and Sargent don't really believe in the stuff they're writing but write it anyway for money?Basically they know what gets the online money they need and they write articles to cater to their audience of morons?I always had a feeling the writers at Cracked only really care about themselves and they'll write and say anything that will get them attention. Some of their 'outrage' seems a bit too manufactured to be real. That's the problem with 'outrage' culture you never know how much is real and how much is just a writer who needs some money.

I've wondered the same thing. They got really click-baity a few years back after a site buyout and ever since then it went from "tits n' facts n' humor" to "you're a white male and should be ashamed you consume oxygen". I don't know how much of the content shift was because of their Demand Media overlords cashing in on the SJW trend but they were bought out again in early 2016 by W.E.Scripps and since then the content has very slowly shifted back towards humor and niche facts.

I don't think Cracked making very much money these days. Last time I visited I got over 9000 popups asking to support the site.

Kind of a shame since I usually like David's writing style.

Unpopular opinion: I think Seanbaby tries a little too hard sometimes.

Cracked used to be something I'd find the time to check every day. I stopped like a year or two ago, I can't remember exactly what article did it, but it was completely non-political and it just stopped mid article for a mini rant about something something society. The reason I can't remember which one did it is because it hit me all at once that the last ten or so articles I read had all done the same thing.

I just want to read the 7 Times Adorable Animals Became War Heroes in peace damn it, that's not the article you need to remind me to vote for Hillary in.

The problem with Cracked isn't just that it's SJW trash, because the old style of content is still there. What it is, is that they don't have the same quality of content. Simple as that. At least their listicles from 7 or 8 years ago were informative and entertaining to read, now it's just pop culture wankery. It's a real shame what they did to it.

There are also several regular writers who should be outright fucking fired.

I loved the magazine when I was a kid. The site used to be funny. But then it turned into virtue signalling clockbait. i get an ocassional laugh. But it's mostly from how poorly researched many of the articles can be. I think the photoplasties (which are now just bad research factoids) are very out of hand. Some contain bad medical advice too. Of course if you take medical advice from a photoplasty you are a retard.

I think the articles try too hard to be funny so they end up being lame or flat. Reading the comments is more entertaining.

I randomly found my physical copy of "agents of cracked" last night. It sucks how bad the site is now. I tried watching a newer episode of "after hours" the other day and it was so awful I turned it off within 2 minutes.
I still can watch Swaim's now dead comedy troupe "those arent muskets" and laugh my ass off. Future house will never not be funny.

Apparently anybody and their dog can write for Cracked, provided it passes the comedy and/or the Virtue Signal™ test. (emphasis these days mostly on the latter)
