Eh. He usually only sheds a little, except on the equinoxes, under periods of stress, and on certain druidic festivals. Then, you can pull the undercoat out in sheets with a brush. And I think you probably could knit a sweater w/it, I just put it outside for the birds or whatever to use.

Black brindle is terrible for photography. Looks amazing in person(canine?). She's about 18 or 19 weeks old in this picture. Currently 20 weeks old. Don't worry, I have experience with these types of dogs.

Do not recommend using one of those harnesses with a back ring. These dogs pull like crazy in them. The ones with lots of padding on the underside are great for calming this hellhound down. Walking? Not so much.

Find that just attaching the leash to her collar gets better results than harnesses. Walks are still quite the workout, but I'm working on it. Holy shit, leash training has gotten me swole.

Does she have nonstop toddler energy and need to be at your side 24/7 or she starts crying?

Nah though I'd love to work with birds of prey someday. The bird in that video looks like a kestrel or some other small bird of prey.

Falconry is badass but I know it's a lot of work and takes years of training.

Yeah the most well known example I can think of is in Mongolia, they got kids learning how to use those sky terrors. I remember seeing an owl in the dark just gliding on and catching a mouse or something, they make no sounds and that scares me a bit.

Birds of prey are amazing and I've loved them since I was a kid. I've talked to falconers and it's something you do because you love raptors and working with them. I don't know if I'd ever be able to become a falconer myself, but I'd love to volunteer for one or a sanctuary with birds of prey doing daily chores and stuff.

I know there's also a lot of legal regulation too since birds of prey are typically highly protected. Like you have to apprentice with a falconer for several years and pass exams before you can have birds of your own.

It's also not the cheapest thing either since you have to have housing for the birds and lots of feeders which gets $$$$ (especially since birds eat more often than snakes and other reptiles).
 
My monster has decided her playpen should be near the entrance to the house. Understandable. She is a guardian breed. I don't use physical playpens. I just call a spot that and put her toys there. Not like she'd be contained by one, anyway.

She's obsessed with the flirt pole I got her. Ever seen a muscular dog twirl gracefully? She does that when playing with it. It's hilarious.
 
My monster had a spa day yesterday. The groomer put a bandana on her, which she loves wearing. She demanded I put it back on earlier today. Heard huskies singing the song of their people there.

The monster loves Dagoth Ur's voice. I listen to those AI voice videos to calm her down. It's funny watching a dog settle down while some cult leader talks about enslaving furries and taking over a country.

Does she have to have a muzzle, or is she friendly enough to not need a muzzle at the groomers?

My mom's toy Poodle always had to get muzzled at the groomers because she was so aggressive. That will always be the dog I use to judge dog aggression with.

She's molting! This will be the second time she's molted since I've had her, last time was before the pandemic.

Anxious b/c sometimes molts can go bad and kill the spider but will try to leave her alone and let her do her thing.

Didn't need one. She's pretty tolerant of obviously friendly people. Also dogs, but her size and puppy energy makes it hard for her to play with many dogs safely. I worked hard socializing her. The breeder has his kids and friends play with the dogs, which helped a lot.

I am looking into muzzles. Mainly to reduce scavenging on walks, but also for bite prevention.
