When I was a kid I owned four betta fish. The things I learned were:
-Putting two male bettas in the same tank will causes them to fight until one of them dies.
-Bettas will jump out so you must put a cover over them at all times.
-Bettas love warm water and will die if the water gets too cold.
-Bettas do not like dry commercial fish food, and would rather eat mosquitos and mosquito larvae.

I'm not a woman but my lil homie is my oldest cat. Raised her since she was a wee one. We share a birthday and she'll be 10 soon. She likes to play with hair ties, specially fetch and will drop it at my feet so I can throw it.

My elder cat with heart disease (being treated) has started a strange habit of sitting guard on her water bowl which is located on our heated bathroom floor, She does drink but most of the time it's like a lion guarding the water hole for prey. Today she was sitting stumpy-legged over it. That's what we call when they are loafing except the front paws are on the floor and not curled up comfortably. I don't know what to think of it as we were just at the vet's last month and all seemed well.

It's just so sad to see her deteriorate at only 13. We moved her across the Atlantic and back and then up to leaf land and back and then hundreds of miles via car to where we now live. It seems like only last year that the cat I had had for my entire adult life died but it's over 20 years now and 6 cats later. My husband thinks we shouldn't get another cat after she dies because we old but the kitten I got for me 2 years ago is completely and totally his catto and I'm so jealous!!

Anyway, that's my Sunday night sads.*sigh*

My cat has started giving my dog gifts. She digs under the couch and gives the dog whatever neat thing she finds. The other day, she found a piece of candy. Thankfully, the dog didn't eat it. They've also tried sharing toys, which I had to put a stop to for now because the cat's toys are way too small for a large dog to safely play with them.

Going to get bigger toys so they can share again.

I have a polydactyl cat. She has a great personality (snuggly, smart, likes people) and her extra toe beans make me smile. She's just great and I'm glad she's around.

It happened again. Cat was rolling one of her balls with bells around. Towards her giant friend. Anyone know of any good cat toys that are safe for mastiffs to play with? The dog can't have plush toys due to how hard she sucks on them. They're going to share, so I have to compromise somehow.

Closest I got right now is a big heavy black ball that was intended for my dog, but I felt it was too small. The cat loves that thing.

Nigger nips made friends with my Orange bitch they've finally stopped hissing at each other and share the cat tree.

Nigger Nipps also enjoys playing with my dog they chase each other around and play with each others toys.

Not about a pet, and not technically my story, but...

Last summer I watched my friend capture an injured hawk which she then drove three hours to drop off into capable hands the next day. It was both very cool but was also peak crazy animal lady behavior in my humble opinion. There was zero hesitation, she just grabbed a big thick towel and got to work gently wrangling and burritoing the bird up despite it doing it's best to get it's very long, sharp talons into her.

We were both bummed to learn the vet wouldn't provide any health updates for wildlife so we're not sure if the bird made it. I hope the hawk is flying free, it deserves it after being injured and having a crazy lady towel it up then drive it halfway across the state.

Meet my ratties! They learnt how to jailbreak, often work together on shenanigans (one distracts you with cute and other two steal your food meanwhile) and hate bandaids with a fiery passion of thousands suns.

Additionally they will bite your toes for shit and giggles and run away jumping with joy.

My 7.5-year-old leopard gecko is my precious idiot boy. Seriously, not a single thought in that noggin' of his.

He does! I handle him when I can, but his bioactive tank makes it a pain getting him out of there sometimes. But he loves coming out of his tunnel to say hi when he hears me talking!
How is he in touch? Does he like being petted?
