Creepy Unsolved Mysteries - From unsolved murders to unidentified people to unexplained supernatural events, what are some of the creepiest unsolved mysteries you've ever heard of?

The Bondi Beast has been identified via DNA matching.

Keith Simms had a fifteen year career as a rapist across Bondi, Sydney. He'd either break into women's homes or jump them as they walked in public areas alone. His victims ranged in age from thirteen to fifty five years old. Unfortunately the worthless sack of rotting meat died before being identified (one hopes it was a slow and painful death) but at least the women whose lives he destroyed don't have to worry about him coming back for them.

THe one I actually know, and absolutely adore is the Monster with 21 faces.

Short version, a group of someones went on a spree across japan, fucking with massive businesses, and rich people. Notable events include poisoning a big snack food companies products so the amount totaled to 21 million USD, kidnapping a president of a major corporation (telling him, in one of the most baller ass lines a criminal can say 'Shut up, money is irrelevant' when he tried to pay them off.), getting bored fucking with them, moving on to ANOTHER company, poisoning their shit, helpfully labeling which ones were poisoned, all while sending notes mocking the cops and giving them clues, including their favorite super market, and their car color.

The cops got them on video, caught them in a train, but could never identify, let alone catch, a single one of them. They stopped when the head of the prefecture police resigned by way of fucking lighting himself on fire. But not because they felt bad, in fact, they outright called him a fucking idiot for doing so, but because they were bored. Their last letter?

“We are bad guys. That means we’ve got more to do other than bullying companies. It’s fun to lead a bad man’s life. Monster with 21 Faces.”

To this day, no one has a single clue what the actual fuck that was all about.

Fairfax Jane Doe has been identified. I complained how hideous the composite sketch was earlier in the thread, so now I'm glad the person has been identified, though most of it's because I never have to see that hideous sketch ever again.

Japanese shame-based resignations are so fucking hardcore.

One unsolved case I have always wondered about is, unknown man found dead on beach in Australia. In 1948.
They finally identified him as Charles Webb
"When an unidentified man was found dead on an Adelaide beach in 1948, it was the start of one of Australia’s most baffling cold cases. Simply known as the Somerton Man, he was found without documents and the labels ripped from his clothes. With the Cold War as a backdrop, the mystery of his death inspired rumours and theories around the world. More than seven decades later, DNA technology and forensic genealogy have combined to finally crack the case In this Australian Story, the Somerton Man’s relatives speak for the first time about how they became involved in the mystery and give the unidentified man a name. "

Good vid on this

Here's the interesting part to me:

All this time, the mysterious 'codes' were nothing more than horses he bet on. Amazing.

I'm interested in the Aurora, Texas airship crash. Happened years before the Wright brothers first flight. Airships should not have existed.

They allegedly threw everything down a well. Despite that being really stupid, they kept drinking from the well and the guy who lived there got real strange tumors.

The town buried the "alien" in the local cemetery but vandals damaged the tombstone so they removed it.

Real alien crash or a publicity hoax?

I'm still astonished they ID'd him, Seems he hit a rough patch, and just didn't want to go on anymore. That vid explains the poetry, apparently it was a "death type" poetry?

I've always wondered what was said to Brianna when she went outside and had a conversation before she disappeared.

The drug theory always made the most sense. She went out to the parking lot of the mall to talk with one of the dealers and they told her to fuck off and they weren't going to give her the drugs she fronted them money for. Apparently the DNA they found last year was a match to one of the persons of interest so we may see some movement on the case in the future.

I hope they catch Mr. Cruel next.

Not sure if this was already mentioned, but it would appear an arrest was finally made in the Delphi murders.
Here's an article about it. He says he was at the bridge and his wife says he owns the same kind of jacket as the man in the video. A bullet found by the dead girls matched his gun. He's pleading not guilty.

Here's the man:

The Monon Bridge case really interests me.
I stumbled on a video that mentioned the corpses of the girls were purposely arranged, and the girls were violated.
This info was kept from the public - but leaked out from a direct witness.
(Another article that I read said 'an unfired round was determined to have cycled through one of the defendant's guns)

I have so many questions:
1) Is this the guy? An unfired round from a semi is REALLY shaky evidence. The round wasn't even fired.
Fired round 'Fingerprinting' is voodoo science at best. Mass manufacture leads to thousands of identical 'fingerprints'.
But an unfired round is literally matching scratches that are identical to thousands of units.

2) What did he do to the bodies? What was the diorama he was trying to portray? Why?

3) Timeline seems not to match up. Initial reports state that his 'art' would have taken hours, however he was sighted minutes after the attack. Did he have an accomplice?

Watching another vid on this now. You might want to give it a look when you have a chance

The disappearance of Zach Ramsay

Zach Ramsay, who lived in Montana, went missing in 1996 on his way to school. They searched for him but nothing was ever found. It wasn't until 1999 that a guy named Nathan Bar Jonah was arrested for impersonating a police officer in the area where Zach had gone missing. Bar Jonah had served 14 years for kidnapping, molesting, and almost killing two boys in Massachusetts, information that had not been passed on from the police in Massachusetts to those in Montana.

When the police searched Bar Jonah's very dirty, very hoarded apartment, they found that he had child pornography and had been molesting two boys in his building. They also found coded journals, one of which had Zach Ramsay's name in it and the word 'died'. Bar Jonah also expressed an interest in cannibalism, which was reflected in those same coded journals where he wrote recipes for cooking children.

Investigators found a garage he either owned or was renting and searched that as well, finding human bone fragments belonging to a child. The bones were then tested against Zach Ramsay's DNA only to find that the bones did not belong to him. The child the bones belonged to has never been identified.

Zach Ramsay is still classified as missing to this day, and you can see his Charley Project page here.

Nathan Bar Jonah died in prison in 2008 so we likely won't ever have a real answer to this one, though it's hard to imagine any other outcome but one in this case.
The Wikipedia page for Nathan Bar Jonah is one of the most infuriating things I have read in a long time. The guy should have been taken outside the police station and domed after the first event.

"Although Bar-Jonah was known to be a voracious eater who weighed in excess of 300 pounds (140 kg), financial records indicated that he had not made any significant grocery store purchases for nearly a month after Ramsay disappeared. However, he could have also paid for any groceries using cash or have been well-stocked on food and meat.[9] After Ramsay's disappearance, Bar-Jonah also began to hold cookouts in which he was reported to serve burgers, spaghetti, chili, meat pies, casseroles, and the like to guests. At many of these cookouts, a number of persons told Bar-Jonah that the meat had a peculiar taste to it; Bar-Jonah's response was that he had gone deer hunting and used deer meat in the dishes. However, Bar-Jonah did not own a rifle or a hunting license, nor had he been deer hunting at any time.[9][3] To one woman, who told Bar-Jonah that she found the taste of his meat to be repulsive, he replied that he had personally "hunted, killed, butchered and wrapped the meat" of the deer. He would later be accused of molesting this woman's son.[3]"

Probably been mentioned but I'm lazy and don't want to read through the thread.
Indiana's Herb Baumeister and Fox Hollow Farm.
In the 80s and early 90s wealthy businessman Herb would leave his wife and kids at home and go looking for cute gay guys to hook up with. Sounds boring enough until the murder part, where he would hide the bodies at his home, the beautiful Fox Hollow Farm.
One victim escaped death and pointed Herb out to the police.
With the police (and his wife) having figured out that something wasn't right with Herb, and with a warrant out for his arrest, he travelled to Ontario and shot himself.

This case has recently been talked about on Indianapolis news as the cops are renewing effort to identify the remains that keep showing up at the property.

As to why this new police interest in the case after all these years? Perhaps they're trying to do some good after embarrassing themselves in the Burger Chef murders and now it seems the Delphi murders.

Fox Hollow Farm is gorgeous and if I was given the opportunity I would buy it and live there even if bits of humans turned up in the garden now and then.
That would mean living in Hamilton County Indiana though. Not sure I could cope with it.

Here's one I learned about after moving. Gary Redner was the CEO of Redner's Warehouse Market, a local grocery chain. Back in 2008, during the night or early morning he was shot dead in his driveway and it's still a mystery who did it or why. If you go to any of their stores they still have posters up offering a reward for tips
