Creepy Unsolved Mysteries - From unsolved murders to unidentified people to unexplained supernatural events, what are some of the creepiest unsolved mysteries you've ever heard of?

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Anybody who followed that case was left scratching their heads. Until..
Over four years later, after failed lawsuits and a final report essentially absolving the police of any wrongdoing, a investigative journalist published an article.
In it, he claimed to have received both documents and witness reports from a whistleblower describing an 17th corpse being found. It belonged to an unidentified woman apparently in her mid-20s.

And what came of this bombshell revelation? Nothing. The mantle of silence was spread over the whole event.

Girlfriend of the shooter maybe? I can't find much info on this. It's like it was scrubbed from existence.

Where did the blown-off leg in a combat boot in the OKC bombing come from?
Why was a bombing alert put on the watch wire before it happened?
Why has none of the CCTV footage from around the federal building been released?
Why did over a dozen people see an accomplice with Tim McVeigh?
Why did the ATF randomly have everyone out of the office there that day but were spotted immediately after the bombing?
Why did the local cop who heroically rushed in to the blast area immediately after commit suicide less than a year later by shallow stabbing himself in the neck, having ligature marks on his hands, and shot himself in the head twice?

Guess we'll never know.

Why did over a dozen people see an accomplice with Tim McVeigh?
Actually, now that you bring it up, where are all the accomplices in general and cui bono from hiding them?
Think about it, how many cases are there where the witnesses report at least two people, but the official report says it was a lone gunman or whatever?
Just off the top of my head we have the 17th body from the last page, The OKC bombing, and the Aurora and Vegas shootings.

Was confused by calling them spoopy crackers white people at first, but this sounds like a couple weird stories I've heard about Mt. Shasta. Allegedly the natives were all "stay away from the mountain, theres bad things living there". You have standard Missing 411 stuff in the area but also people have mentioned encounters with tall people in white robes. Almost like the Nordic ETs reported by some UFO abductees
I've heard weird stories about Mt. Shasta for years.
Supposedly, the Indians that lived in the area kept away from the mountain, there were evil spirits that lived on it.
I've also heard stories of people in white robes over the years as well.
Heard there's a UFO portal under the volcano too.

It's not just Mt. Shasta. The same weird shit is happening on Mount Nyangani Zimbabwe. It has gotten so bad that the government got involved:

National Parks now require hikers to climb with a professional ranger/guide for a fee of $5 an hour, cellphones must be fully charged before setting out – those that aren’t don’t get to go – and hikers must carry a torch with spare batteries. Cellphone and radio towers are being put up at the top with boosters at strategic points elsewhere.
And the cherry on top is that it should be impossible for people to disappear there because well look at it:

People should be found easily and yet some vanish forever. An entire indian delegation went missing for 3 days (!). How?

Shamans believe that there are spirits living on this sacred mountain and there are rules for everyone who wants to go there:
  • don't wear red
  • if you see something strange: Move on, don't investigate
  • don't go to the bathroom there
  • don't curse
  • etc.
If you don't follow the rules, the spirits can transport you into a parallel dimension and you are stuck there forever. It's also required to speak to the village elders first before visiting Mount Nyangani.

Perhaps our ancestors knew something. The don't wear red clothes rule can be found around the world.

I remember reading about the white aliens before. I think they are the same or similar to the "Nordic" aliens. I'm kind of reminded about the fairy folk and how the taller they are the more malevolent they can be. Maybe there' something to that and ancient people might have seen them as fairies or some other fantasy creature. There are plenty of tales of beings like this. Some of them could be based on something people actually saw. The same way people might say helpful beings are angels or good spirits.

Police have taken Rex Heuermann, a 59 year old architect, into custody in connection with the Gilgo Beach murders (Long Island Serial Killer/LISK)

edit just for clarity's sake: This is in connection to the Gilgo Four--the victims were found within a quarter mile of each other. There were six bodies found (including a mother and child), a few months later in other areas nearby and may not be related to the Gilgo Four. "LISK" has generally been a moniker used to refer to the possibility of all of the murders being connected.

From what I remember of my 1990s UFO stuff, Mt. Shasta was supposed to have a huge underground base of the "Nordic" aliens from the Pleiades and their tall white human Agharti Federation/Collective allies

But, of course, part of the Collective was tricked by the reptile lizard aliens from Sirius (who are the masters of the grays) posing as "Ascended Masters" into allowing the reptiles into their mind link, and the ebil serpents promptly started taking over the minds of those Collective members, so there was a civil war under Mt. Shasta blah blah blah

This is a really weird, and disturbing one that doesn't have a lot of information on it anymore, but back in 2014, the AARP released a commercial that for some reason had a news broadcast playing the background talking about martial law, and authorities working on a plan to "contain the outbreak". (archive)

Here it is with the audio boosted. Minor warning: slight earrape. (archive)
It is real, and while the company did respond to the confusion, and concern prompted from the ad saying the audio was taken from "a fictional, vintage source" as a way to "invoke an earlier era", that just raises even more unsettling questions.

It's still unclear what the original source of the audio is. The only answer I can find is a comment on one of the few uploads saying it's from an unspecified zombie movie, and while that very well be the case, and the whole thing might just be a prank by a rogue employee, or something, the sheer eeriness in both its existence, and the AARP's response to it as well as just how little info there is of it left online, and just how hauntingly prophetic it ended up being does make you wonder if something much more sinister was truly at play here.

@NoReturn & @glass_houses: Here's one of the stories about a dude being stalked on the PCT by people in white: https://www.reddit.com/r/LetsNotMeet/comments/2h2twu/hunted_on_the_pacific_crest_trail/

Natives don't want people going to Mt. Shasta because the big sky chief Skell lives there. Crater Lake is the one with the evil spirit, Llao.

But there's a lot of other weird shit that's happened at Mt. Shasta: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legends_of_Mount_Shasta
And the surrounding area is a major New-Age/cult stronghold. It's a striking, stand-alone volcanic mountain -- almost like a Californian Mt. Fuji -- so I get why it's been an object of mystery and veneration for centuries.

The "No shitting on the mountain" and "No cursing" things make sense, but I wonder what the story is here.
I wouldn't be surprised if this taboo goes back to something very dark in the past involving human or animal sacrifice. You wouldn't want to wear a color similar to blood or else the entities might think you are the offering.

Or the mountain is just owned by the alien version of Crips.
