Creepy Unsolved Mysteries - From unsolved murders to unidentified people to unexplained supernatural events, what are some of the creepiest unsolved mysteries you've ever heard of?

I wouldn't say arrogant so much as ignorant. Most euros (outside of a few countries that have similarly inhospitable places) seriously don't understand that when Americans call something "Death Valley" we actually mean it. We didn't just call it that for giggles.
For the record, pretty much everyone is capable of massively underestimating both strange terrains and their own skills.

Robert Bogucki, an Alaskan fire-fighter, decided to go on a "spiritual quest" in The Great Sandy Desert in 1999. Very lucky to be found, lots of extremely vexed individuals wanting to fine or jail the dumb fuck.

Can confirm. I’ve have a couple of close calls just doing the summit of Munroes in bad weather.

That’s just the UK and not even the most challenging of mountains but you get in your head you need to get to the summit, it’s only 150 yards away, and what‘s a little gale force wind and torrential rain and hardly any visibility with the odd sheer cliff drop by you?

Fuck that Betty bitch.

She's another true crime grifter. After seeing that Mostly Harmless documentary, which focused mainly on a few true crime loonies, I have a whole new perspective on how crazy and attention whorish they are. The ones on the Mostly Harmless documentary were more concerned with drama between rival groups than the case itself. Everyone wanted to be king of the hill and kick the others down to the bottom. It's high school all over again for these people. They are very emotionally immature.

I think I mentioned it before in this thread of another, if you haven't seen "They Call Me Mostly Harmless" you should. One of the true crime crazies featured had a meltdown on web sleuths about how she was portrayed. Not sure how you edit crazy into crazy when it was already very obvious. I guess she never got to be prom queen so she feels the need to be true crime queen to make up for it.

I believe that you're thinking of Ryan Larsen. He disappeared in 2021, in the state of Nebraska, aged eleven. Still hasn't been found.

I believe he hid himself a little too well and is in a drainage pipe or something like that. His remains could be found by accident years from now. I assume they checked abandoned buildings. Like that boy that was found in a chimney years after he went missing, something like that could be possible. I've lived in very old houses with weird crawlspaces and tunnels. Once one of our cats ended up in the neighbor's house via a small tunnel that connected the basements. Boarded up coal chambers, sealed dumb waiters ect... If he's really good at hiding he could have found some odd space few people would even think to look for.

Any chance you have a link to the Websleuths tantrum? I’ve lurked there for ages, but hate the current board arrangement.

The behaviour desribed in the article about the missing/dead pond child is literally retarded. Who the fuck does she think she is and how is lurking around the family's/possible suspect's home and yelling about it supposed to help keep children safe or "solve" twue cwime mistewwies in any way? People like her are why sexism exists.

I've been searching for it on Websleuths and can't find it. I wonder if it got deleted. I know I posted a screencap somewhere. I believe it was the lady at the end of the documentary. She may have been the same person that got photos of the body via request. Really loony people. Like do they really think that they will be able to find something out that trained professionals haven't. Sometimes amateur sleuths do find important clues. But it's hard to focus when you are so busy trying to out true crime everyone else on the internet.

This is 100% about Bullhorn Betty and her gigantic ego. She's got multiple channels. And she's filming on her phone so you get that squished video with Bullhorn Betty going out of camera range every once in awhile. Bitch get a real camera with your e-bux.

She's got merch too. But none of the links work because she formatted them wrong.
Said merch site does exist though. Typical Spring store where you can buy a mug or shirt emblazoned with her face. What an egomaniac.

Anyway, After watching the Lore Lodge vids I find every adult in this situation to be a hot mess. I have no idea what is or isn't true as there's so much he said/she said going on with the divorces and custody battles. But Chris (the stepdad) comes off as sketchy to me. He's been married like four or five times. And his previous wife, Nina, alleges abuse towards her and the children. She had two children from a previous relationship plus Faith, who she had with Chris. Chris wanted her to abort and she refused. He now wants custody of Faith. Oddly enough, Sebastian was supposed to move in with his biological father Seth and then Faith was supposed to come stay permanently. That alone is very suspect.

Apparently Sebastian was molested by a teenager when he was eight and Chris says this makes him unsafe to be around Faith because the family was unsatisfied with the counseling he got after the molestation incident. Chris is very inconsistent with his stories. I'm also seeing in some of Bullhorn Betty's comments that the dogs were Sebastian's and Chris has since given them away. But it's Bullhorn Betty's titswingers. So who knows if that's verifiable or not. But if did remind me of when Lori Daybell gave JJ's service dog back to the breeder right before he and Tylee disappeared.

100% do not like Chris. That doesn't mean he did something to Sebastian. But he sure isn't Mr. Sunshine by any means.

I never thought this was that spooky. He was drunk and fucking around the cliffs and McFell off. All the other stuff is the coping mechanism of a distraught family grasping at the dumb satanic panic stuff typical for the time
Nothing beats the cut in the segment to the gay pedo wizard and his coven chanting "OH HAIL FATHER OF ALL" over and over. Fun fact, the recreational jousting lady was very pissed with the way she was portrayed in her interview.

Now, how about Kyron Horman?

I used to be in the "Terri did it" camp. But now I don't think so. The school was very unsecure that day. They didn't check who was who. No one wore nametags and no one called Kyron's family to report he was not in class. He was marked absent despite his coat and items being on his desk. No one thought that was odd? There was an incident in Philadelphia years and years ago where a man managed to pick a little girl up from a school by just telling staff he was her relative. I can't remember the school. But they got in a lot of trouble. I believe the child was found safe.

This is why schools should never let anyone in who doesn't have a reason to be there. Some weirdo could have wandered in easily enough. Wasn't there some van or truck spotted that was suspicious?

The only other option is that he for some reason wandered into the woods. From what I've read there' s some really rough terrain near the school. It's very easy to fall in the woods, hurt yourself or become trapped in an area too far away for anyone to hear you.

Also, on Reddit I read that Terri and Desiree both thought Kyron might have been molested.
https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/14w0280/what_is_your_kyron_horman_theory/

Then there is the possibility that it wasn't a complete stranger after all. In the year before Kyron was missing, his mother noticed that he was showing behaviors that indicated something was wrong. He started wetting his bed and refusing to go back to his father's house. He also confessed to his mom that he had nightmares. Terri later said in an interview that she actually caught him "doing something to himself". In the book, she specifically told Desiree that she found Kyron on top of his sister. These are serious signs of sexual abuse and I have a suspicion that someone might have groom him and use the chaos in the science fair to snatch him. It sounds more plausible than it being a complete stranger.

There's a few books about Kyron Horman. I'm not sure which one this post is referring to. Has anyone read those books?

So a random videya came up on my recommendations, about a young man called Noah Presgrove who was found dead beside the side of the road on September the 4th, 2023. He'd spent the last few days attending a rager with a group of friends in rural Oklahoma, and as with many other occasions involving teenagers and copious amounts of alcohol, at some point something went terribly wrong... but what exactly went wrong is rather mysterious.

Thoughts?

Reminds me of a similar situation from when I was in high school except that guy barely lived, with a big chunk of brain missing now. Pissed someone off at a party, got lured into an ass-beating outside, and got dragged behind a truck with chains for about a mile before they dumped him. I'd be curious to know if they checked the road/shoulder between where he was found and the party's location. It doesn't take much dragging at all for pavement to tear off clothes.

Alternatively he could have compounding issues from the offroad accident and whatever argument he had turning into a fight. What would've been a little tussle could be lethal if he had a concussion to start with. Leaving him naked except for shoes is a bit weird though.

I've read a few different articles, watched a couple of videos and there's a sub on him in Reddit but I haven't been through all the threads.

From what I can gather, the family he was partying with is not locally renowned for stability and kindness. There's mention of the shirt he wore that night being cut to pieces by the father of one of the party goers, and the pieces being handed out like souvenirs. It also sounds like Noah was exactly the type of arsehole you'd expect an extremely popular high school sports star to be; he was nineteen and obviously had finished school by the time the party was happening, but it's easy to slip back into high school drama when you're back with your classmates and everyone's wasted. There was some weird shit with his best mate's gf and at one point he brutally rejected and insulted the party girl. Unfortunately, high school drama becomes much more dangerous when it leaves school property and ends up on a rural farm at night, and that farm is owned by individuals who are both intoxicated and unkind.

Drunk nineteen year olds aren't renowned for their sense of self preservation, but it's clear that things turned very sour at some point, and he didn't realise the danger that he was in or else thought that he could just handle anything that came his way.

Shit like this is why I got really paranoid about anything remotely sketchy in the vibe around "party people" and the instant things seemed anything remotely like that, I'd bounce. Two times I did this, the people who didn't take my suggestion to leave regretted it. Once a couple of them got robbed and the other time they ended up in prison, because what do you know, the windowless panel van they joked about being the feds turned out actually to be the feds.

I've known people who were all into the "party scene", and none of them ended up in a good place in life. Not that they died, mind you, just that the whole "party people" shit usually ends with either being homeless, brain fried from drugs, or in jail repeatedly.

Not to mention, when you do something fucking stupid, you're usually blitzed and won't even remember it come morning. So you'd be going to jail or wake up injured/robbed and not even know why.

Or outright dead. Like one of my very best friends in my entire life. The pain of that has caused me to keep druggies at arm's length ever since.

I had to end a very long-lasting friendship because she became a druggie (weed) and she just...wasn't the friend I knew anymore, and it took me a few years to realize that (along with losing my wife and becoming a single father on the same day). I just couldn't stay friends with someone who wanted to stay high and whine about losing her mom 7+ years later and not even trying to move on.

This is so unbelievably relatable. They never seem to come to a good end.

Been there, done that.

I had a couple of "friends" like that, had to cut them out of my life before they dragged me down with them.

When I was high school, I was bullied unmercifully for years by a group of girls who would eventually drop out one by one before year 10. They were always boasting about drinking, taking drugs, stealing shit, and their twenty five year old boyfriends. It was a relief for me to finish the last two years without them, especially given that they beat the shit out of me at one point.

Not long before I finished school myself, I was walking through town to catch the bus home, and that's when I spotted one of my ex bullies about to walk past me. I am rather face blind, but I still instantly recognised her terrible, frizzy, home hair bleach job, her stupid permanent pout, pale eyes and stomping gait. There was I in my prim school uniform, and there was she in her stupid grunge wannabe outfit, eight months pregnant at the bare minimum. Not quite ready to pop but certainly getting there. We briefly made eye contact, then I averted my eyes and bit my tongue so I couldn't laugh, and she stomped past me with an expression of helpless rage, and that was the end of that saga.

Getting drunk and high and screwing creepy adult males because you're tough and edgy causes teenage pregnancy! What a shock! It was one of the best things that ever happened to me in high school. I don't know what become of my bully or her baby after that, but I'll lay money that she kept the poor thing for the welfare money, and raised it to be just like mummy.

His best friend is gay. Has to be. He radiates gay. Anyway, there's so many theories. I was thinking maybe he had an accident and one of the ATV's fell on him, specifically his head. That would explain the brain injuries and the broken teeth. It would also mean the party guests maybe tried to cover it up. The girl who comes from the rich family who definitely looks 47 knows something i bet.

Originally I had confused this case with the guy in the UK (?) he like was on an island, went with two foreign guys to a house, there's footage of him there, and is missing

He was washed clean of trace evidence before he was dumped, and everyone at the party completely wiped their phones. If it were just a drunken accident they would have been on the hook for under age drinking but I doubt that it wouldn't have been a life ruining event; they could have just said that he took the took the quad bike out by himself, and they were all too drunk to notice/care that he was even gone until the next day and they sobered up and found the wreckage and his body.

Whatever happened, I doubt that it was accidental.
