I wish Capcom added the graphics from the RE4 HD Project and also given the game some modifications from re4_tweaks. I would highly recommend checking that out, I got it to work on my Loonix setup

One of 2 things is possible.

But could be possible.

It was rushed out to compete against the dead space remake imo. The only part of the original that was bad was the autistic aiming controls but like any game that is not shovelware garbage, the control scheme does take some getting used to. Dead space just did the whole "third person shooter action horror" thing better than RE4 in every way.

Still better than dealing with the faggot devs treating their fictional worlds more like amusement park rides with wait/completion times than the escapist medium to interact with that it actually is.

Part of the problem is he left out some of the cool shit like the Krauser QTE becoming an actual fight and some of the cheesy remake shit like Leon backflipping to dodge the chainsaw sisters. You can argue the second doesn't fit in a shot for shot comparison which is fine but the first is pretty blatant since the comparison makes the remake look like it's all cutscenes without even any QTEs when in reality the QTEs became a full gameplay section.

Deleting negative comments is a wussy move, and immediately dispels the idea this is some 4d chess takedown. He's just thin skinned.

The main showcase was probably a 1:1 comparison of the acting on the scenes themselves. Which is kinda bad compared to the OG. I'd say Crowbcat probably should've sectioned & detailed the video a bit more, but that does clash with his usual style.

Had to double post sadly. But exactly what says he deleted the comments? YT deletes the comments all the time I have personal experiences with this, specially when I try to link this very site. Many admit on the comment section of the video that their comments supporting him are also deleted.

It's very much possible YT deleted the comments. Hell, even if he did delete the comments, the point still stands that his video isn't wrong, to an extent.

Well the other problem is that some of it isn't 1:1. The hallway with all the knights standing there that seems to have been cut based on his video is there, he just used the wrong hallway. I honestly don't disagree with a lot of his comparisons, Ada is inexcusably shit so remake fans can't really defend that, but this is a game that so many people have played and liked very recently, which means it's much easier to call the video out. It's especially easy with stuff like the Krauser knife fight because it's right after the cutscene and tons of people thought it was rad.

I believe it's because 2make Ada joined the VA union, and so they grabbed the woman who played Ada in one of the RE movies because she wasn't union. It's a lot easier (and cheaper) to work with non-union people, because something as simple as "hey, we changed up this section a little so we need you to re-record about five minutes of lines, we'll obviously compensate you" now has to go through the union, who's going to want a giant cut for allowing their member to do an hour's worth of work.

As to why capcom decided to use someone from the godawful movies rather than an actual VA, I really don't know.

He was always a coward that can't take criticism. When he recanted his VR video, his fanbase were angry and so he deleted it. Archives still exist.
I find this video to be a sore spot for Crowbcat fans and VR haters, the latter of which still cite his old video and dismiss the new one.

What I'm guessing happened is he couldn't take criticism for shitting on RE4 Remake so he changed the title (I didn't see what he changed it to, if someone could say what it was) and then he couldn't take the criticism when people complained because he changed the title. I won't be surprised if the video quietly gets memory holed later down the line like the VR video above.

I haven't played it myself, but I like Critical Nobody's review as it covers the pros and cons.

In short, it's a fun port that has some problems. Most of the positive reviews fail to mention the game was censored, cutting any flirting and sarcasm from the game.

Most people turned around on it because it did turn out to be mostly good. There was still criticism of it there, for instance Ada sucking, discussions about Leon feeling a bit more sluggish than the original and U3 being cut, but I think some people just can't accept that crowbcat's video was polarizing because people played the game and did end up liking it. As people have mentioned this probably wouldn't have been as much of an issue if he just titled the video "RE4 old vs new comparison" or something.
