New video about Halo Legends launch

You really see how modern gaming deserves to die with bloated production, that cuts previous features and still brings a barely functioning experience. I'm pretty sure the amount of actual developers is 5% of the staff and the rest are middle managers, writers and artists that only increase the amount of work.
I only played Halo 4 on my X-360, & even only the campaign at that. But damn, I felt that video.

never was a Halo guy but damn. being a Halo fan must be suffering.

The state of Halo is just a micro version of the state of the gaming industry as a whole, passion is discarded in favor of more sequels that do the same or just copy trends from other games.
343i and new bungie have nothing on old bungie, those were people that not only made games that people could enjoy, but games that they themselves wanted to play, and usually did play them at the office as seen in multiple of the dev documentaries

Pretty much. Halo Infinite was a complete cluster fuck, but it isn't like any games come out that are perfect at launch or aren't saddled with a bunch of bullshit anymore. If it isn't shitty people being in charge, it's over bloated development studios that cannot coordinate work between 1000+ people.

It really makes the story of how Goldeneye Multiplayer came about so much more novel.

Zoomers are insanely butthurt that the channel that always confirmed their bias about the current day video game industry states an opinion that is contradictive to what they've been told to believe about The Next Product™️ and they cannot handle it as their worldview bubble bursts, and in the last ditch effort to not completely lose their shit they mass dislike the video and bitch in the comments.

Do they even know that comments and dislikes count towards the algo boost? They are only helping him out.

See I've always been of the opinion that remakes of classic games that can be easily purchased and played on the same hardware as the classic game are entirely pointless unless they add a significant amount of content. Is the re4 remake bad? No. But it's not as good as the original... Which you can also buy on Steam. So it's pointless.

He really grasped for straws with this one
I think this is an inherent problem with remaking and remastering games in general. I generally dislike the idea of remaking and remastering the same shit over and over again, but sometimes I can accept it like with RE2. There was a slight controversy when people realized how botched the Parts A and B were, but people were willing to overlook it simply because of how "good" (I will get back to that later) everything looked. The ideal aim of remaking a game is to improve it in every way possible. The problem however arises when you realize that the things which you consider to be "improvable" could potentially be improvements from your perspective alone which not many share. This problem becomes exponentially more apparent when the game is quite recent, and was also a great zeitgeist in the era of gaming. When you begin comparing remakes and their OGs (especially that fucking last of us part 1) like resident evil 4, you will start to notice that most things just look different not "better". I have this theory on the art design on video games. Some games have a type of art which becomes so attached to its identity that it becomes a part of it, or just making something look slightly "better" isn't enough to warrant a new game. Super Mario is an example of that and potentially Resident Evil 4, but this isn't the first time people disliked RE4; it was the progenitor of the RE that people dislike to this day.

I think the issue is he went from a really reactionary title compared to the more tame ones hes made in the past, and this is not exactly a typical AAA flop. General youtube Gamers™️ are in general happy with "nu capcom" and see Capcom as the japanese developer who repented for their sins and are now making good games again, look at my history because ill admit in this post I like the Re4 remake but do miss a bit of the cheesiness. Crowbcat could has easily titled this video as a basic comparison(as hes done in the past) but went out of his way to use the fucking soul vs soulless meme they knew what they are doing and frankly its not gonna look pretty as people were begging for this game to be a flop the minute it was revealed.

You can clearly see more changed than the graphics "improving". Entire scenes contexts got altered. I've heard from others that entire parts of the game were swapped. It's not dry for content and in many ways is a good enough remake but a lot of the original soul is not there. They tried too hard to make a campy zombie game more 'serious'.

The issue is and I really hate using this word is that people or resident evil 7 *tourists* overstate the survival horror aspects of Resident Evil and treat 4-6 as these blights on the franchise. Sure 1-3 had scary ambience and you were strapped on resources but once you get a grip on mechanics you can frankly fight back rather competently. Resident Evil 7 comes out and you have people saying "HORRRROR IS BACK BABY" ignoring the fact Ethan was revealed to have some crazy ass fungus powers where he can reattach his fucking hand back. So now these *tourists* think the older games are too campy and that Resident evil needs to be my hecking A24 slow burn horror game so capcom decides to lean more into that.
