Cuba never would have been on that to-do list if U.S. Govt hadn't trusted Castro on him being a "good communist." And backing Castro in overthrowing the Cuban government. Then going surprised Pikachu face when Castro hand delivered Cuba to the Soviet Union.Cuba's been on American to-do list since 1959 and really, I expect it to be touched now is because every real power is cleaning up their backyards.
I think it's Rubio that has eyes on Cuba. Florida Cubans have a generational grudge against the Castro regime and now that Venezuela found out and has their oil tankers blockaded, Mexico is the only oil supplier for Cuba. They're one missed shipment away from being back to the 17th century.Trump has eyes on Cuba lol
This is probably true. I'm uneasy with having a plague-ridden country full of desperate people just 90 miles off the Florida Coast though.I think it's Rubio that has eyes on Cuba. Even scrolling on the cuban subreddit, holy fuck. I expect a commie circlejerk of non cubans hailing the socialist utopia, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the cubans on there (some of them even seeming to be living there) where demanding nothing less than US liberation and throwing regime officials out of helicopters.Liberals need to talk to a Cuban-American. They're all staunchly anti-communist because they've directly seen what it does to their country. Plus, don't liberals always go on about listening to minorities? Why don't they listen to the latinx voices of Cuban-Americans?

I suspect they could make a deal with one of the smaller Russian oil companies to keep things flowing or make some sort of a deal with the PRC about all this. Then again, the local leadership seems to be more interested in personal enrichment than actually running the country. The news today is that Pemex, the nationalized oil company of Mexico, is ceasing their oil exports to Cuba starting today. With that, it means Cuba no longer has any major countries to import oil from. Whatever electricity they have will probably be gone within the next few months unless they can find a new sugar daddy in the Gulf States.
haiti is flooring cuba in that competition though cubans don't eat mud cookiesCuba is holding out pretty well against Haiti in who can be the "worst country in the Caribbean" competition I see.
That's a fair point, as of this time comparing Haiti to Cuba is like comparing a dumpster fire to a dumpster.haiti is flooring cuba in that competition though cubans don't eat mud cookies
How long before Conan O'Brien will visit Cuba and post some pictures of his trip? That's a fair point, as of this time comparing Haiti to Cuba is like comparing a dumpster fire to a dumpster.
The Confederates were playing the long game after they got defeated.more territories for our glorious nation
If they do eject the Communists i'll personally go there and make sushi and sashimi restaurant and have the restrooms have poorly painted images of fidel Castro inside the urinals. The problem with both Cuba and Iran is that their diasporas are pretty based and (not coincidentally) most of the ones I’ve met want to return when their respective countries stop being shit
Meanwhile, have you ever heard a Somalian be like “oh I can’t wait to return to Somalia once we have governmental change”? No, because they know deep down that the problem is that Somalia is full of Somalians and no governmental change will ever fix that.
I’ll be a little sad when the Cubans go home.
