U.S. State Department officials held rare talks in Havana with Cuban officials last Friday, including Raúl Castro’s grandson, urging political and economic reforms and warning of the risks if changes aren’t made, Axios reports.

➡️ The delegation also offered help restoring internet access through Starlink and pushed for steps such as releasing political prisoners, compensating seized U.S. assets, and expanding political freedoms. They stressed Cuba’s economy is in severe decline and that leaders have limited time to act.

➡️ The meeting marked a diplomatic breakthrough — the first U.S. government flight to Cuba in about a decade.

Reporter:
"There have been reports that the Pentagon is preparing for military action in Cuba. Are those reports true? Is Cuba next?"
Trump:
"Well, it depends on what your definition of 'military action' is."

Cuba's President Miguel Díaz-Canel:
If 32 Cuban combatants fell in Venezuela defending the president of that nation, what wouldn't millions of Cubans do, with that same example, fighting to save the Revolution and to defend Cuban soil?

Reuters, citing a U.S. State Department official, reported that a delegation from the department met with a Cuban government official on April 10 and presented a set of proposals aimed at reaching an agreement.

➡️ According to the report, the United States has proposed that Cuba allow the use of Starlink internet terminals in the country, compensate American individuals and companies for assets confiscated after the 1959 revolution, release political prisoners, and grant broader political freedoms.

➡️ The official also said Washington has expressed concern about the influence of foreign powers in Cuba and emphasized that the ruling elites in Havana have a limited window to implement key reforms supported by the United States, before conditions "deteriorate irreversibly."

➡️ According to the official, Donald Trump is seeking a diplomatic solution if possible, but will not allow Cuba to become a major threat to U.S. national security.

Give me rainbows, but I have a much higher opinion of Cubans in general, and of their repressive communist government's grip on reality, than Iranians and their inbred rulers. I don't think we'll have to blow anything up.

A U.S. Justice Department jet that drew attention for flying from Virginia to Cuba on Monday was part of an unusual FBI mission to recover a 10-year-old American child taken abroad by a transgender parent to undergo gender transition surgery, NYT reports.

➡️ According to court filings, a transgender parent and a partner orchestrated a multi-country plan that took the child from the U.S. to Canada, then Mexico, and ultimately Cuba.

➡️ The FBI believed the child might undergo gender transition-related medical procedures.

➡️ With assistance from Cuban authorities, the suspects were located and arrested, and the child was returned to the biological mother in Utah.

Trump is reportedly considering multiple scenarios for regime change in Cuba, although no final decision has been made, and priority is being given to diplomatic pressure.

▶️ Possible scenarios range from pressuring part of the Cuban leadership to step down (but keeping the regime's structure intact) to the use of military force.

▶️ Trump said yesterday that the U.S. would take control of Cuba "almost immediately" following the resolution of the war in Iran.

▶️ The Cuban diaspora in the U.S. appears to favor a quick military operation or more forceful measures to remove the regime.

He's going to do it before the end of the year, for sure. Venezuela is done, Iran will fall by the end of the summer, and Cuba won't take much militarily to fall. Trump can claim he took out three anti-American regimes in one year, more than any other president in a single year. China won't have any real foothold in the Americas anymore so keep an eye on who they start talking to next. If they're really pissed at Trump they'll start courting Mexico which would piss him off enough for him to start fucking with the Norks which he would do by offering them economic incentives.

The funniest thing would be if Trump gets NK to be start opening up and being more US friendly
What the anti-Trumpers refuse to comprehend, is simply because they're your enemy doesn't mean you can't be nice to them. FFS Trump being nice and treating Kim Jong Un like an equal done more for U.S. and North Korean relations than the 40 to 50 years.

If you told me 2016 rocket man Trump would be authorizing fertilizers and liquid gas to North Korea in the year of our lord 2026 or 2027 I'd believe you were smoking meth.

Then again South Korea has been acting a faggot and easing relations with China. Taiwan been sweating microchips doubling down with the USA as more nations choose unofficial channels to talk to Taiwan.

They're nothing short of fawning over any Islamist that comes along. It's extremely telling how they're always deriding Kim for being "crazy," but how DARE you criticize erratic muslim ideas.

It's been that way ever since 9-11. They were very harshly criticizing the Taliban in 2001, and then everything flipped when Al Qaeda knocked down their ugly towers. Suddenly saying women shouldn't be treated as livestock was Islamophobia, and eating bacon in Mahmoud's sight was a hate crime.

Not much of a riddle. They're sniveling cowards, already convinced of their own defeat and seeking to placate their new masters. When you look at the last 25 years of lefty doublespeak in the Anglosphere and Western Europe, it all makes a lot more sense when you see they surrendered and started trying to oay jizya in September 2001.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited U.S. Southern Command and met with Gen. Francis L. Donovan earlier today to discuss efforts to counter threats affecting security, stability, and democracy in the region.️ A map of Cuba is visible in the background as Rubio and Donovan shake hands. I seem the remember a similar picture involving a map of Venezuela awhile back...
