This is a great idea, and forgive me if this has been discussed already. How are we going to differentiate true cultcows against people like say, Dobson or Bob who just continue saying fucked up shit that draws attention? Seems like it'd be easy for a mod to jump over and slap on that tag, when it should really only apply to people really being gangstalked, and are mentally unstable.

People don't actually do anything to Dobbo or Chimpman other than post shit they said. It's not like they're helplessly insane or anything, either. They're just pathetic and sometimes funny.

It's the first case I can think of where someone became Internet-famous for their obnoxious weirdness, and got trolled far, far beyond joke/amusement purposes. All they do is just shitpost on Twitter and occasionally get into spats with people not affiliated with us. The Cultcow tag is for people who are basically just the victims of some cabal or sub-cell of Kiwis or other similar actors.

However, I definitely oppose locking or deleting such threads. Because after all, Chris himself was basically exactly that and still kind of is.

I can see that I really jumped a bit saying what I said. My main worry really was that maybe some mod would take a loose definition of this and attempt to apply it to some other longtime cows such as those. It really doesn't matter until it happens, anyway.

Cultcows are a very specific type of lolcow whose thread and drama is completely impenetrable to new users. This is usually because it has devolved to a closed group of people way, way too intimately involved in that person's life. The best example is Gail.

When Christian Weston Chandler was not only the lolcow, but the only lolcow, and starting to taper off, people from the "inner circle" Chris trolling groups wanted to recreate him and start the ride over again. Gail, a schizophrenic, was their mark.

Gail has a unique tendency to believe absolutely everything she is told and parrot that information verbatim. The original results were promising, especially in a "Bukkake" video where she went off for 5 minutes about how all of Canada had been destroyed by a Jesuit-built weapon of mass destruction whose payload was millions of gallons of semen. The humor stops dead in its tracks, however, when she gets a call on Skype mid-video. A young person begins frantically reporting 'from the scene' about all the bodies coated in cum strewn throughout the streets.

It become painfully obvious from the call that (a) she has very little ability to discern fact from fiction, (b) none of the funny stuff is her own idea, (c) she only accepts it as fact to use it as evidence to support her not-as-funny belief about a Jesuit world order, and most interestingly that (d) a bunch of creepy weirdos are controlling this person's life.


Cult status is not a good thing. It usually happens because of extreme emotional issues that should not exist on this site. I'll use Solid Mario as an example.

Solid Mario gets a thread. He likes to draw Bart Simpson naked and wants to fuck Bart Simpson. Kinda funny and weird. He comes onto the forum with two accounts that are both him putting on good-cop-bad-cop alter egos, which I skin as Butters and Professor Chaos because it's funny.

After a while the humor stops. The same people continue to beat him over the head. "You're the BARTFUCKER you should feel bad about being the BARTFUCKER" and then when he doesn't feel bad they start trying to inflict pain on him, at first by just being dicks, and then when that doesn't work doxing his grandfather (whom he is not a dependent of). "Yeah BARTFUCKER I bet your grandfather doesn't know you're a BARTFUCKER does he?? Feel bad yet BARTFUCKER????"

At this point you're not having fun. You're not using the webzone to have fun on the online. You're become a creepy weirdo who desires an inordinate amount of control over a mentally ill person and their family. You've become... a cultist.

I can see where you're coming from. I just can't get in to some the more well known their. Their absurdly large and many of the pages are meaningless garbage. The SolidMario thread descended in to madness rather quickly when the sockpuppeting started. I believe cultists should be banned, depending on how much of a puppeteer. The moment someone is pulling on a cow's strings and ultimately controlling even the most intimate details of their life, action should be taken. I disagree with just placing a special label on a thread. I believe those that choose to control a vulnerable person should be banned. It won't stop them from pursuing the cow, but it serves as a straightforward message that this insanity doesn't belong in this forum. I doubt anyone who's this obsessed with a cow would stop with just a slap on the wrist. I admit, this is the darkest side I've seen of Kiwi Farms.

That's not a fair distinction and I'm not going to start banning entire threads and userbases but in general I would advise people consider their own level of emotional involvement in threads.

I was a little too intense there. Sounds more like a fatwa on IslamQA than someone who laughs at autists online. I should specify banning should be considered when this behavior gets to a point where people are visiting a cow's house and controlling how they behave. It's why I never bother looking at Chris-chan's antics. Thank you for reading my post and responding.

Personally I prefer loose moderation within reason and to the extent that it doesn't lead to everything being a shitshow, and I must admit it's a guilty pleasure to sometimes poke pet lolcows and watch them dance, although I definitely see the issue that needs to be addressed here.

I get your point and there's definitely some overlap, but I don't think all behaviour encompassed under the umbrella of this issue is exactly synonymous with a-logging. For example, a certain member's weird-ass history of drooling over @Autphag and begging to skype chat with him about 100 times in his thread was extremely creepy and bizarre and overly emotionally attached but not a-logging at all.
