"Current Year" terms and trends you actually *like*

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
And speaking of, I like how the average person has the ability to get a widespread message out cheap -- instead of distributing local newsletters or going on local public access TV that pretty much no one watched, before the internet. And this can still be the case despite all the corporate censorship "Community Guidelines" in Current Year.

OP has shit taste, dress shirts are absolute peak and the death of formal-wear has made everyone look buttfuck ugly.
On the actual subject of the thread, I really dig Dark Academia as a fashion trend, but I flunked out of college so I feel like a prick wearing it.

I like being able to criticize Jews in front of normal people, even if I still can't go all out yet. I mean, in some circles I probably could, but that still wouldn't be recommended. But I can discuss my criticisms of Israel and Jewish people without it being as controversial.

A couple Twitter things as well. I LOVE how Twitter checkmarks mean jack shit in the modern day. I absolutely hated how much old Twitter focused on the "important" people who had them before as a blue checkmark used to be a sign I was going to be reading an awful tweet from some shithead journalist. But nowadays, anybody can have them, so they lose their power. I also love Community Notes. One of the only good features on that site as it's hilarious seeing assclowns get butthurt over getting them even if they are a coward who limits who replies.

As for terms, while I usually hate zoomer terms, there are a few I kind of like. I like "You fell off" for example.

"Bruh" being added to the fun club of terms with very subtle extra meaning.
Unlike "Bro", "Bruh" specifically means "We are both aware of the topic in question and I am expressing disgust and disapproval."
As much as I love and use the flexibility of "dude", "dude" doesn't have a permutation that has both those elements.

Windows fanboys are extinct in the wild because Windows 11 sucks so much that not even the bootlickers can defend it.

They were annoying. Now I don't have to deal with them!
