"EVEN if I am living a lie, I'd rather live this lie than believe that truth ever. I AM RESISTANT TO THE CHANGE!"

-Christian Weston Chandler, in his own words.

Jeeze, I don't remember seeing that particular quote before. Where did you find it?

From one of the Aspergers pages from the CWCKI. It's one of the enlarged quotes as you scroll down. It's the Christian Weston Chandler mindset condensed into a single sentence.

Very true.

When I see pictures of Barb at Chris' prom, it makes me think that she was hovering around just to make sure he didn't pull out his :pickle: or something. Maybe he made some comment to her about having a crush on a gal pal and wanting to ask her to the prom, and alarm sirens in Barb's mind went off?

Ehhh... that could be, but Barb hasn't shown a knack for predicting Chris's behavior, nor being willing to attempt to control him.

??

It seems trying to keep him on a short leash is what she's been doing all his life, and even more so now.

I cant believe nobody already posted that pic with young teen Chris with a crappy moustache, fanny pack, and with some korean people...(damn, I cant find it myself...) it was weird as fuck xD

I think you mean this one.

Those doofy 90s windbreakers are supposed to be baggy, Chris. It's not supposed to fit like a second skin.
There's something about that picture that just gets me. Also, did he tuck the windbreaker into his pants?

To make his fanny pack more prominent

I can't believe they let him get away with this one, between the reused cap and gown from high school, the "Honor Roll" sash plainly visible, the Sonichu medallion on top of the sash, and the clown shirt underneath instead of something formal. On the other hand my middle school graduation/promotion said that, for participating female students at least, prom dresses were strictly forbidden. And then didn't give a shit when loads of girls wore prom dresses anyways. Maybe the only real requirement is "don't be nude".

The best birthday ever! for Chris is exactly like any birthday parties you had as a kid. Except the birthday boy turned 18 instead of 8.

Also he's wearing all his high school graduation garb. At first I thought it was just Chris being a tard, but now I wonder if Borb was just like, "you already have a gown, we're not buying you another". Or Bob was under the ancient misunderstanding that you wear the original cap & gown to every place you graduate from.

I swear the people in the background are lolling at Chris.

I also never noticed those clown plates on the birthday table! Where's the Pokemon plates?!?!

This picture, I can't. I also don't imagine Bob and Barb went out of their way to get that shitty balloon. Chris probably lifted it from the decorations around the school so he could feel celebrated, like a little kid.

Only Chris can make a graduation look like a kindergarten party...

The white thingy on his chest (That's the "shash"? My limited english fails me here) looks like a bib on him...and the balloon...goddamn...well, at least it just a plain blue one instead of a Sonic the hedgeogh balloon.

I guess thats the only special power the Sonichu medallion granted him.

EDIT: Just noticed he is not wearing the medallion on the birthday pic....the power was always inside him!

Oh, true, but she's only controlling him in her own very narrow self-interests. Larger matters like "If I leave Chris at the game store for hours and he scares little kids, bad things will happen" or "If I give my horny manchild unmonitored internet access and sex toys, there is a slight chance he'll draw unwanted attention to himself and this house" are not even on her radar. Barb controls Chris to keep him close, but has never shown any desire to keep Chris from making an ass of himself beyond that. I don't think Barb's presence at this party had anything to do with her wanting to keep him out of trouble.

What I could believe, possibly, is that Chris was allowed to attend only if he was accompanied by a parent. Perhaps Chris got in trouble and was almost uninvited from his own graduation party. This is all speculation, though. There's nothing to suggest this and Chris's real batshittedness would not begin until he started at PVCC.

I really just think Barb was there because she's the primary female friend he has, and without her Chris would have been in a room with dozens of people who didn't like him that much.

I always figured Barb went with Chris to prom (is it really prom? I've never heard of prom starting before dark) because he bawwwed about not having a date for the last dance of his high school career. Going by my own high school experience, most people attended prom without a date, nobody considered having a date to be a big deal. Or maybe the school said he had to have a parent chaperone because of his autism.

As for reusing the robe for PVCC graduation, maybe he wanted to wear it again because high school graduation was (and still is) a big deal even in 2005? And his folks just didn't question if it was OK or not, especially Barb since her hoarding would've started by then.

Chrus, the sash ought to be worn on the outside, on top of his robe. In the pictures of his high school graduation you can see him wearing it properly. The sash might be proof he was on Honor Roll in high school. It could also be because he's a special ed student (even if they did allow him to attend some normal classes). At any rate, he shouldn't have worn the sash at all, even if he did wear it underneath the robe.

then there is this one where he is so oddly shaped.

Matchdotcom1.jpeg

He looks like he has Proteus Syndrome here.

His legs probably look like that because of all the junk he has in his pockets. All the pics around this time have his legs looking big due to amount of stuff he was hoarding in his pockets.

I love the annoyed kid in the background at the computer.

it's the combination of the junk in the super baggy pants combined with the too tight child's shirt, that give him such a weird looking body in the pic. and just to think, he's dressing like an elementary school kid in college! not even in a style way, but just naiveté

Well just because he stopped wearing the fanny packs doesn't mean he stopped carrying all the pointless crap in there with him. ...I wonder why he stopped wearing the fanny packs. It's not like current fashion and style means a damn to him.

Maybe Marvin or someone could answer, what was the documentary about Chris called Birthday Boy supposed to be about? (IIRC, Anna said in a chat she would consider participating but Marvin said she was lying.)

Yep. He re-used and re-wore his HS stuff at his college graduation.
