The presence of Banjo dates this to likely being made in high school. Part of me wants to say he did this at home because I can clearly see a cross, but then again it's Virginia so what do I know. Although if multicolor yarn was included in the kit that was kind of dumb because it doesn't make the cross part stand out every well. On the other hand Chris wrote his name on the project (which looks horrible) which leads me to suspect he came up with that on his own (along with Banjo) and I can't imagine he didn't have an adult to help him with both of those.

While I do not get the general intolerance against christians in US schools thing, I also do not get why a cross would be mixed with a cartoon animal as a symbol. It makes no sense and I do not think there is a sect that worships cartoon animals as Jesus Number Two.

Perhaps just like how a half-moon is not always a muslim thing but can also be simply the moon, it could be just a shape he picked up from computer gaming, and wrote his name under it, because I can't think of a reason* why a... chipmunk? squirrel? would be on a cross.

* Expect of course, AUTISM.

What is this, how and why was it made, and why does it look so much better than everything else? Was it just arranged by Chris and then made by machine?

I'd say it's because it's a very simple concept, so he has considerably less possible ways to fuck up. The same principle applies to Pixelblocks:

It is kind of touching that Chris portrayed himself as grinning at that time. Not angry, not freaking out, not afraid or stressed, just smiling. Wonder when that was made.

You know, I saw another one of Chris' tomgirl pictures today and I noticed... he looks like he has a very disturbing lack of body hair. Does he shave or wax or nair or something, or is he just naturally hairless? I suppose low testosterone might play a part there, but still. Regular manscaping or waxing sessions seem like they'd be waaay too stressful for Chris to maintain long term. That's time and money that could go to MOAR LEGOS and vidya.

I saw a close-up picture of Chris' crotch when he was wearing his mother's underwear, and he had a noticeable amount of body hair that was shaved recently beforehand, but it was growing in enough so you could see it. Chris apparently has always shaved his body hair, even before he was a tomgirl. Other lolcows do it too; CoolDudeClem and MylarBalloonFan. Clem does it to make himself feel like a kid again; maybe that's why Chris does it?
(Also, I can't believe I was able to type that first sentance as if it was no big deal. That's what you get when you follow Chris' antics.)

I never saw that before! Other than the jarring colours, I'm surprised at how good this looks! Chris must have had a lot of help when making it, or maybe he used a template that was made on a computer and printed out.

The phone to the left of the pixelblocks seems to be a hotel telephone considering it has a bunch of text next to the numbers and there seems to be a direction sheet underneath the phone itself... I never noticed that before now. I wonder why that is? It also doesn't seem to fit in with his old room which was filled with shit and never had white sheets or a backboard for his bed.

Actually, now that I'm looking at the picture closer it was definitely taken in a hotel. I wonder when he went on vacation/ why he brought the pixelblocks with him?

EDIT: Apparently he brought them with him to the one anime con he went to. Nevermind.

It was Anime Mid-Atlantic in 2005.

It has to do with separation of church and state. Public schools cannot do anything that comes off as promoting any religion because they receive their funding from the government. So during art for example if a kid wants to incorporate a cross into their project if the teacher okays it that's fine. But if the teacher hands out supplies and says they're going to draw a cross and Jesus in art today, that's not okay.

I also do not get why a cross would be mixed with a cartoon animal as a symbol. It makes no sense and I do not think there is a sect that worships cartoon animals as Jesus Number Two.
Despite the fact that Chris went to church regularly with Bob I'm guessing didn't understand the project and thought it was "plain" so he wanted to jazz it up with a video game character and his name. I assume he didn't go with Sonic only because Banjo-Kazooie was new at the time.

Maybe he was told to put something other than Sonic on it for a change.

The pixelblocks characters were just one of the many accoutrements that Chris brought with him
You know that old saying, "everything but the kitchen sink"?

Anyway, I'm guessing, based on different eyewitness accounts and photos, that Chris likes to lug a lot of stuff around when in public. An example would be that McDonald's sighting pic from Jan 2013. And let's not forget an entire high school "replica" for that tour video.

That makes sense, but I can't imagine that the teacher ordered Chris to do this. I can believe the teacher asked him to do something other than Sonic(hu) for a change.
I just assume Chris did this on his own and the teacher went "Well its not offensive, why bother?" and thus Chris put...well, what's supposed to be a bear on it for....reasons that are Chris's own.

Everyone kept calling this Banjo and I couldn't see it at first. I saw Kazzoie first. the yellow peak, eyes, the light yellow/brown underneath that looked like a neck. I guess thats a hand? I keep seeing it as one of those 2 pictures in one deals like the faces/vase.

This is plastic canvas and and yarn. I wonder if Chris made it or someone else did. The way the rainbow yarn is woven around the main design kind of reminds me of those god's eyes we used to make with sticks.

Chris actually made those? I liked Legos and building space ships out of them, but I would never have the autistic patience for this.

The Chris pixelblock looks like its supposed to be a small child.
