The image is kind of prophetic when you think about the hoardocaust...

That is among my favorite Chris videos because there's this quip by Seanbaby that gets me every time, "wow, they pressed every button on the special effects panel". It applies in a literal sense to this video because Chris just went through a list of wacky effects ("BIRTHDAY BOY!") and applied all of them in blocks of 3-5 seconds each. I love it. It's the perfect mixture of laziness and unintentional avant garde art.

It does signal a weird attitude.

He finds a watch strap irritating. Fair enough, I can't blame him. But instead of deciding to keep his watch in his pocket or use his phone to keep time he does that. He finds the necklace on his medallion irritating, so instead of looking for one that isn't irritating or abandoning the necklace, he puts a wrist warmer on the back of his neck.
There's also a picture of Barb wearing the same hideous watch so apparently they liked it so much they decided to share.

I really like this one. Kind of retro or vintage. Despite the pedo glasses and the stupid hair style, his eyes are telling me something, something very deep, and sad, perhaps he saw his future during a second, and barb was there to capture this special moment of clarity with her camera.

We will never know
That is the face of a young man that still has hope. He looks timid but enthusiastic. Compare to that to the I Love You Catherine video.
Life really broke Chris.

That can also apply to the digital art (such as this: http://sonichu.com/cwcki/File:460-CWCsComputerGraphicsPoster.JPG) he did in high school.

What's the context? It looks like some kind of promotional art for the graphics department (I recall my school having a contest to create a poster advertising the art department to new kids), but he's plastered his name and Sonichu all over it. Why would they let him do that?

Actually, thinking about it, I'm almost certain that an earlier version had an enormous picture of Chris's face on it, but he was made to remove it.

It's a depiction of Chris' computer, broadcasting autism rays all over the internet. Actually, the title looks like it was thrown in as an after thought. When the assignment came up, he only heard "Make a poster..." and proceeded to make one showcasing Sonichu and his initials, two things he's completely obsessed about.

It still seems bizarre to me that Chris would hear "make a poster" as an assignment and create a roughly symmetrical piece of real life clip-art that doesn't actually promoting anything. It's just an arrangement of things he likes. You'd think he'd at least go for promoting the Sonichu comic itself ("read my comic!"), if not just a general promotional poster for Sonic.

I took communication technology (basically an amalgamation of desktop publishing and A/V production) for a few years in HS, and there was an autistic guy (coincidentally named Chris) in my class. For our final assignment we had to edit together a bunch of video clips into a promotional video for the course. The final video he made was a bunch of the clips stitched together haphazardly, with a shitton of fancy lightning effects from Premiere and some random anime character flying around the screen. All of us were dumbstruck.

In other words, autism makes people do weird shit.

I'm autistic myself, although I was taught that people aren't interested in my nonsense at an early age. It's all just down to how well you're taught about what's right and what isn't in a social situation (I still struggle sometimes), but that guy in your class at least did something vaguely related, assuming the clips he used were tied to the course in some way. What Chris put together is just his name and Sonichu. It's like he couldn't think of anything even slightly related to the course he'd been doing for the past couple of years.

I'd argue that with the poster linked earlier, he at least thought he knew what he was doing. With the "Computer Graphics... Make some neat-o stuff" text, I get the impression he started out trying to exemplify what you can do with computer graphics, but let it get a bit out of hand. Honestly, as someone who's done that kind of design stuff for a few years, the only massive issues I'm seeing are that he's going overboard with the clipart, his name, and Sonichu. He did a semi-decent job of sticking to basic design principles, and had he simplified it and cut some of the clipart he could have done a decent job.

wow somehow I missed this one through the years. It's sad that the teachers were so scared of borb's wrath that they couldn't advise Chris to knock it off with the initial obsession.
There's a whole collection of his horrible high school art on the Chris and Art page in the art gallery section (under his awful Rule 34 drawings). Definitely check it out and see all of the art projects he did in school.

Oh, I've seen them all, except for that one. I guess I blocked it from memory.
