Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Main thing that sticks out to me already is the enemies seem to be bullet sponges.

I think it probably does that level scaling thing Witcher 3 did where enemies below your current level die instantly but enemies 5+ levels above you are brutally tough damage sponges that you do basically no damage to.

Personally I am the sort of weirdo that likes it when the (unarmored) enemies are easy to instantly kill with a well placed shot, but you are also easy to kill with an unlucky bullet to the head.

Edit: The UI really does look almost exactly like those memes making fun of the future of xbox UI a decade ago

I was expecting that. Damage floaters and bullet sponge enemies = Typical CRPG-Shooter. Like the first Mass Effect, for instance. Remember how long it took to take down individual enemies on Insanity? It was a good thing you could eventually configure ARs to be able to fire indefinitely and never overheat with the top-level Frictionless Materials.

Maybe, Just maybe they might make a semi comeback but I think yes this is the current record for literally shitting the bed in terms of reputation
Ahem ... Last Jedi? Even 4chan & co thought it was gonna be good bc they spent half the budget on the trailer.

I have an idea. Has anyone here seen those parody dubs of LotR? I think this game would be perfect for that, just replace all the voices and texts with some parodic/satiric stuff and make up a whole new narrative about how SJWs have taken over Night City or sth., and have NPCs shout "white silence is violence" at your character for no reason etc.

crisco demon apprehended after caught stealing the hoarded supply from jim sterling clone factory.

For a game released in 2020 the combat looks like something from the early 2010s. I'm entirely positive that its probably because the engine for it is a modified engine that's been around since 2007 and based off an even earlier engine used by Bioware

Yeah... not really giving me good future bethesda game vibes here, since their engine is really bad and old too... but I already felt that.

as expected, it's just Witcher 3 with guns, which means like Witcher 3 i'll get the GOTY with all the DLC and patches a year from now once it goes on sale.

also can't wait to see this played on a PC by someone who doesn't have the gaming capacity of an IGN reviewer.
In a more serious note: it looks ok. Probably on the same level of Deus Ex: MD with a bit more depth.

It looks hilariously janky, but Witcher 3 was buggy as fuck at launch(I played the fuck out of that).

What's going to drive this game is it's world building, atmosphere and expansiveness.

If the game can hit those notes, with mediocre combat, it will be fine...

Watching that stream now, looks ugly. Why is everything so oily? I've seen better car physics in ps2 NFS games. The menus are overstuffed with information and menus and neon. Bleh.

And the game seems to be borderlands with even more bullet sponges. Great.
Mass Effect Andromeda was unironically the best game Bioware put out in years. Cyberpunk Inquisition would make me scared more
ME:A, outside of being buggy as hell, was far for the "best game in years". The story was unimaginative paint by the numbers fluff, the secondary missions were totally pointless, the characters sucked, it was boring as all hell, and it was totally unnecessary. We already finished mass effect with 3 after all.
God that just looks...awful. Honestly don't know why they'd even bother since 1st person melee combat is next to impossible to get right. The only modern game I can think off that comes close is Kingdom Come Deliverance.
Chivalry medieval warfare, while not the most realistic, is a hell of a lot of fun with actual strategy to its melee combat.
I hope the PC version is more populated because the world looks like a ghost town in the console version
GTA:SA had better crowds and lively cities on the fucking PS2, and GTA V was made for the xbox 360. How the hell CP2077 cant do that with the power of the ps4 at a bare minimum is beyond me.
