Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

I was just thinking, the funny thing about the whole trans controversy is that trannies would be a non-issue in this future. Either everyone switches genitals (or gets rid of them) so frequently that no one fucking cares about traditional gender anymore, or trannies can openly swap out their genitalia/body for the one they prefer and they would be no different from someone who was born that gender. That's why trans flags appearing is a pretty big headscratcher and sends the unintentional message that even when trans people can literally make themselves functionally identical to the gender they want to be, they're still obsessed with being trans.

It's just a big nothingburger on both sides. The people screaming about prog invasion don't have to play as a trans character if they don't want to, to the point that during chargen if you started off with a fem body when you get to the genitals it defaults to having a vag, and the male body defaults to having a cock. On the other side of things, "trans commodification" is the natural progression of the argument clamoring for representation when representation is actually provided and they need something else to complain about so they maintain the veneer of being oppressed in media.

How's female V's voice sound? I'm playing as the male V and I don't like his voice much. He sounds like Marky Mark or Vanilla Ice trying to sound tough. It sounds unnatural and has a forced quality to it.

I was thinking of restarting but I'm not really liking the game enough to re-do ten hours worth of gameplay.

FemV sounds like White Lady because she's a white lady. It's the same VA who did Makoto Niijima's english voice in Persona 5, and she sounds pretty similar imo.

She's good but has the same problem of trying to sound overly tough. Did you get to the part where V is recovering from getting shot in the head? I think the male actor does a good job there.

Yeah, I'm a little past that part. Last story mission I did was meeting the Asian dude in the diner. After that I started exploring the city and doing side stuff... which hasn't been all that interesting. I guess he did a better job in that scene than he does with various random conversations he has with NPCs but it didn't really leave an impression on me one way or another.

Maybe I'm autistic or something but I can't shake the feeling he sounds almost exactly like Geralt. Which is weird because in that one trailer where they escape and his buddy dies I thought he sounded exactly like Jesse from Breaking Bad lol. Specifically how he said "bitch".

I always played the Witcher series with the original Polish VOs. The cast is consistent throughout the entire series and Jacek Rozenek is phenomenal as Geralt in all three games, rather than just barely finding his groove in the last one.

My friend stole a key to get into someones apartment for a side mission and a dude immediately pulled out his shotgun and started blasting him.

Other than that I don't remember a single time anything happened when he took items.
To me it sounds like the guy was scripted for the side mission...big oof if that means that there’s none of that AI behavior for normal gameplay.

Played a bit on the PS4 pro, it really is buggy for consoles. It's so buggy that even the cutscenes were buggy.

Been playing a bit since yesterday. I randomized the character creator and ended up with some gross looking gold/yellow fingernail polish that looked like a fungal infection. Because the whole thing is first person, you see your hands a ton, so I ended up restarting. I'm on PS4 and haven't noticed a ton of bugs yet, but I'm only a couple of hours in.

5 and 1/2 hours in. Playing on a newer-ish PC: AMD 3900XT, Radeon 5700XT on ultra settings (averaging 60 - 70 C temps). Legion 27in display, 165mhz, averaging between 60-70 fps at 1080p

only one major glitch where I fell through the road into the void. A few minor glitches, no biggies.

The game's beginning (intro?) is super railroad-y and it's a tad long. I'd rather they just have assembled a four hour movie if that's what they wanted to do. I was pleasantly surprised to see a cameo by Spider Murphy. Old 2020 players will recognize her from the fluff. Rache Bartmoss and her were fun to read about in the old splatbooks back when I was in high school.

Would be cool if I could customize a character, didn't have all the railroading, and just got to explore the world and get into trouble without having to worry about 'muh destiny.'

The braindance stuff was pretty dope. Hacking is fun (augmented reality?). I wish this was how net running was in 2020. For those of you who remember how that was, you'll know what I'm talking about.

I think it's a good game, at least on a PC that can handle it. They should have spent more time on nailing the gameplay like the driving, fights, etc. and making it less of a linear storyline and more of a sandbox.

CD Projekt Red really fucked us with the character creator.

- No double penis or vagina options or one of each.
- No way to make a neko or succubus
- All are available in the world

If you're going to go batshit, you go full batshit. Go all the way you fucking polak cowards.

Yeah, I can already see the intro becoming incredibly annoying on repeat playthroughs, in the same exact way that White Orchard is. The game doesn't really start until after the heist.

I had one hell of a glitch. I was talking to T Bug (who I don't think I've even met in person yet) on the phone and all of a sudden she teleports into place in front of me. She keeps up the conversation as if nothings happening and when the call ends she dissappears. That would be even better if you're never supposed to meet her, she's just supposed to be talked to over the phone. Anyone know if that's the case?

You do meet her in person. I'm wondering, does anyone know in this thread if T-Bug can survive like in the 2019 trailer? In my playthrough she died during the heist when someone found her and fried her brain.
