Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

i just read somewhere that downloading Nvidia Game Ready Drivers might help with the game, i don't know if it's true. So is the game fun?

Hard coding paths for NPCs as if these were slot cars on a fixed track goes beyond "Spaghetti" code, this is "Diversity Hire" code. They literally have poeple working on this game that don't know how to code a basic AI so NPCs can navigate the environment on their own.

Is this for real?!

Interesting:
I could give you guys millions of examples, but i'll start from the basic: if you park you car, other cars that are just behind you will stay right there forever if you never take your car off the road like this: https://imgur.com/a/azQ3MuN.
"The city is filled with life, with NPCs living their life with a full day/night cycle" - 2018 gameplay trailer.

If you call npcs walking into each other or doing one single action a full day/night cycle, then sure.
When fighting melee opponents you only have to kill one and the rest will keep falling over the dead body. Tested it just now with more then one enemy and they just kept falling over this one dead body
Here is a clip I made the first time I noticed it https://gyazo.com/07e1e018c7cfe295f26c2d9423d88c58

The quality of the random NPCs wandering around the world (what few there are for what is supposed to be a overcrowded bustling city) is absolutely awful. They just walk up and down the street or stand still. You compare this to a game like GTAV or RDR2 where the NPCs interact with one another, do something as simple as pick up a phone and have a random conversation, they enter shops, wait at bus stops, etc.

I was just in a shootout with some members of the Tyger Claws, I come out of the store where it happened and what do I see? About 30 NPCs all crouched with their hands over their head in the exact same position, no one runs away, no one screams, no one dials the police. Just 2 solid blocks of robots crouching down.
Its worse than that, even the unique NPCs aren't scripted. If you actually wait outside Lizzie's bar the bouncer will just materialise at 6PM instead of walking out the front door.

If the AI is apparently as dumb as the crowds in Hitman, I wonder why it's not possible to have more of them without tanking performance?

I'm having fun. I decided on a hacking/melee build with some stealth and I'm stoked about getting the monofilament wire augment. The driving sucks so I'm just running everywhere and encountered a bug where I accelerated without limit while running along a road. This game is a hot mess in the best ways and the people raging about it are taking things way too seriously.

Since when does the woke crowd even care about Japan? I thought there were considered evil colonizers that conquered half of southeast asia, allied the nazis and killed innocent chinaman in Nanking along with rape sprinkled on top by the woke-sphere (and the non-woke because the Japanese Imperial Army did in fact do this shit unless you are Japanese/some kind of Japan apologist)

The Japanese are the schrodinger minority.

The greatest tragedy out of this is that the game is buggy and generic, but not bad enough to be the next fallout 76. The verdict I am seeing is “decent, but not amazing.”

We'll have to wait and see the size on all platforms. Most don't do differential patching, and will instead do file replacement, resulting in bloated patches if they do lots of small changes spread over multiple large files.
I still can't believe they aren't using deltas for their patches. Fucking Doom (the original) did it over 20 years ago! Why can't these buffoons do it?

PS4 Slim gameplay

10/10 GOTY material right here

Already removed. Getting real sick of CDPR's shit.

Hello fellow gamers I too customize my character in CEEPEE 2077
That was such a good game. Far better than it had any right to be.

I can't hit more than 50 FPS in the city/open world. I'm running a 3080/3600 with 16 GB of RAM at 1080p 144hz, bit confused. DLSS is on for quality, RTX is turned down, and I turned off motion blur/LOD as well. Any advice?

Stop being such a graphics whore and just play the game lol

The only two things I can think of are either the models are very high in polygon count or the AI doesn't utilize heap optimization.

Uuh so is there any penalty at all for stealing stuff? because right now it seems like I can waltz into any store/house I want and just start stuffing my pockets with loot and the npcs just stand there and do nothing.

Pretty shoddy coding on CDPR's part. Even Bethesda npcs get testy when you steal their shit.

My friend stole a key to get into someones apartment for a side mission and a dude immediately pulled out his shotgun and started blasting him.

Other than that I don't remember a single time anything happened when he took items.

What are the chances that they didn't do a proper NPC AI because the CPU is already getting taxed too much as-is and they had no resources left and thus sacrificially decided to dumb it down? Similar to how they only reduced the campaign completion time to accommodate the customers who had been sending them death threats over Witcher 3's campaign being too long?

Oh, who am I kidding....

To anyone that’s gotten far enough so far, what’s the most fun arm upgrade? They seem to be the most visible upgrades. You’ve got the arm blades we’ve all seen, a grenade launcher, arms that give you super strength (I’m not super clear on what these really do), and an electrfied usb dongle/whip (again, ot sure what all it does).

They went full tranny worship, it seems.

lol Remember when people refused to look at the BLM website to acknowledge it was predomenantly a feminist trans movement over being a racial movement? Surprised Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't have a "HERstory" history lesson coupled with it.

I genuinely can't tell if this is satire or not
It's not. That's what BLM is actually about (aside from everything else which is secondary). I won't bog a fun thread down with irl drama but look into it if you'd like. They changed their website this year or so but for 6+yrs is was pretty prominent as to what their real motive and goals were.

Only white people can be evil colonizers, bigot.
To be fair I do like Japan's inclusion but, and this comes from someone unfamiliar with the Cyberpunk game lore or world setting, why didn't they go with China? Seems like it'd make more sense.

I think the AI problems are really just a carry over from Witcher 3, considering how many mechanics are very obviously ripped from it in Cyberpunk. The NPCs that just stand around in one pose, with only the models being switched out when you leave and come back, are pretty much straight from Witcher 3. I would honestly not be surprised if like half of this game's code is repurposed Witcher 3 code.

That image is from the game awards, not Cyberpunk 2077.

The tabletop was from an era where it looked like Japan was going to be one of the preeminent nations of the world, before its economy crashed in the early 90s. The game pretty much has to carry that over.
