I have started to think about the issues that I have with the main story. As other have said, it is way too short. I think the majority of my time in night city, I did sidequest and most of them were not that fun. Was the same bs gig all over. The other issues that I have with the story, is that it ain't really V story. It is Silverhand story. V is never the real driving force. It is Johnny. I don't really mind it, but I would have liked to see V being more in the driving seat.
I still love this game, but I think that I will soon unistall it and wait a few months for patches, dlc and more and hope that all the issues that I ahve will be fixed.
Some side quests straight up end when it’s getting good. Like the Mayor side quests it just ends abruptly and i legit got mad. You had this intriguing actual cyberpunk set up and it just ends.

Like I said earlier the bugs and bad performance are really defending this game from mass scrutiny from a story perspective. I’m starting to believe the Keanu fucked everything up theory more and more.

yeah the actual side stories (not the gigs) have some decent writing but it feels like they always blue ball you. i actually waited on going past the point of no return expecting to get another call from the mayoral candidate after i told him the truth but nope that was just the end. same goes for that pop star (although i guess there is a news story about it or something?)

also is it just me or do the endings involving johnny feel...off?

you give johnny your body and he just decides to fuck off and live a quiet life? you keep your body and youre suddenly this rich dude pulling off space heists?

the aldecaldo ending works if you were a nomad or romanced panam i guess, but feels really off if you were a street kid or corpo who didnt imo. the arasaka ending should have had an option where you could just become another adam smasher, but i guess it still works that they fuck you over and make you part of their relic plans too.

also did anyone else who ended up getting jackie into mikoshi feel it was a real let down? the second takemura told me that they made an engram of him i figured it was going to be some pretty big thing in the end game, but instead your just dealing with a half retarded jackie who doesnt even recognize you. its so late into the game that the goodbye just doesnt work youve had plenty of time to get over any emotional toll of jackies death.

its amazing just how obvious all the side story cuts and reworking of main story are.

There was this one side quest with this Lizzy Wizzy character (real treat of a name I know) where you find out that her boyfriend is planning to upload her on a shard behind her back after suspecting him of cheating. After you show her proof of this, she just goes, "OH FUCK LOL" and hangs up. No follow up. No other dialogue. Just her freaking out over the information you gave her and slap me on the ass, that's it! I didn't even get the payment from the stupid fucking mission, nor could I even enter the VIP lounge to murk the guy.

Just what kind of game just lets you off the hook with a cliffhanger like that? You'd have to be pants on head retarded to write a story and not even see it through to the end. Whatever happened to beginning, middle, end? This is basic bitch, storytelling 101 shit that they can't even get right.
Funny thing is even I could finish up the story for them, suppose that after you give Lizzy the information that she tells you to off the guy, but you're given discretion as the player character on whether or not you want to do it. Or think dishonored, where you can home up with a more fitting, non-lethal punishment that satisfies Lizzy even more? Why not have an option to talk things over with the guy and have a non-violent ending to the mission?

Funny thing, while watching one of YoungRippa's videos I stumbled upon a clever brit boomer who put out this video.
He talks about how the developers of the game not only tried to do too much at once, (goes without saying) but that they didn't focus on one constraint in the software development process. I mean, it's pretty silly to announce the game in 2012/2013 if I remember correctly, only to promise a game so innovative it blows the tits off every gamer in a 10,000 mile radius a few years layer. Even though to actually deliver on that kind of product they would need time they didn't have while trying to soothe the impatient cries of Le reddit "muh celebs!" crowd. They made the scope of the game too large while being constrained for time, and in hindsight it was only a matter of time before they shit the bed and let out this hunk of turd.

It's poland it's not uncommon for many to be drinking on the job.

I'm not joking, you have a 1 in 3 chance of having your job interviewer be fucking wasted when you go in for an interview.
And null still couldnt get a job there. Fucking pathetic
Speaking of first person shooter rpg hybrids, was Outer Worlds any good? I couldn’t find a decent consensus on /v/ and I don’t visit any other gaming forums.
It was bland and short. It played like it was released on the original xbox. The main reason people liked it was because its effectively free. Microsoft charges $1 for the first month of game pass and this game is free with gamepass. If you paid more than $1 for this youre an idiot. Theres a reason people hate the DLC and thats because its not free, this whole game isnt worth $10

That video right there is right on the nail on why crunch is bad no matter what excuse that PR says, it might produce results but it causes a big margin of errors to happen especially when you have no plans and continually shifting priorities.
another clever comment made by a youtuber explain the problems with the waterfall model with the same guy who made the video responding to him.

There actually is a follow up to Lizzy but I dont know what triggers it.

She called me up told me to meet and when you go to her motel room her BF is dead on the floor and she asks you to get rid of the body. After you do it she starts acting goofy and you get a dialogue option to tell her to seek help, that her BF was afraid this would happen or you simply tell her good luck and that's it.

I heard on the tv later she released a brain dance of her murdering him as some sort of music video and it's a hit I think.

People keep talking about the Cyberpunk fuck ups as the biggest thing in gaming, however the Ouya finally got it's servers pulled and now each machine cannot load any games now since it was all digital.

It's now effectively a brick and this story has gone under the radar. This is the same fate the stadia will suffer.
Wait, you mean they can't be side-loaded with anything or flashed with more "open" firmware? I thought they were just custom Android boxes. They seriously just turn into bricks if they can't phone home to the mothership?

That's some major bullshit right there.

I really do feel sorry for CDPR. This game is actually not half bad. I have a pretty high-end PC so outside of bugs and weird glitches I don't really have any performance issues. Story isn't bad either especially for being a first entry. The weapons and combat is mediocre at best though.
I feel sorry for the dev team, if that's what you're referring to. Most of them anyway.
I do not feel sorry whatsoever for the managerial publishing outfit who either had no vision and just kept telling the devs ambiguously to "make it cooler" or had a vision but those were chopped out to appease the myriad of worthless faggots they brought onboard for some asinine reason.

And that is why I don't feel bad for the parts of the dev team that undoubtedly sabotaged this game's potential because you just know that every "problematic" element hit the cutting room floor even after hundreds of hours of work.
The noisy part gets the grease and all that.

"EZ Optimization" sounds like the software equivalent of those "Girls in your area want to have sex!" ads.

i.e. a scam

I mean...what do they expect from third party shit?
I actually expected some one from the modding community to make a tool that makes chaning the various config files easy. It's just follows the theme of just fuck up after fuck up that the one to actually be reported is malware.

cant wait to see all the people jumping on the petty hate machine completely forgive bethesda for this shit when starfield/elder scrolls vi comes out.

So far I like the game. The story is too short but I like the atmosphere and the scenery around the city. The one mission strand with Panam hit me harder than I thought as I have had friends go through what happened to her in real life. Hopefully some more patch’s come out and make the game a bit better. I give it a 7/10 for a short story and for people who have difficulties with bugs and glitches.
