Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

I don't know, guys. I always hated their bloated games but I still respect the Witcher series for its great writing and story. But seeing videos for Cyberpunk just leaves me sad, the gunplay is an embarrassment. I genuinely can't understand the hype around this game.

Half-Life is almost 20 years old right now and has a more exciting FPS gameplay. Depressing situation.

And now we have a suspicion of another delay? If that is the case I'll start calling CDprojekt's fans simps.

Supposedly, CDPR's Chinese Community Manager said episode two of the NCW will be up in a "few days."

I will say that I am a bit nervous, I hope CDPR doesn't let us down further. If they do a third delay, I'm canceling my pre-order. That money can be used for other things. When Cyberpunk 2077 comes out, I can decide then whether or not I want the game.

I'm expecting a 3rd delay
I'm pretty confident this is getting delayed into 2021.
And now we have a suspicion of another delay?
Are you guys basing those suspicions on something or is it just a hunch?

Idk, i think people just got too used to CDPR giving them news to talk about and this is some kind of news withdrawal thingy.
On a similar note i hear people are "worried and concerned" about the state of Elden Ring, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and TES6 purely because there was 0 news since their respective announcements. Maybe don't expect to get daily updates? I mean the game is 3 months from release and there are supposed to only be 3 episodes, that's a big window.

Elden Ring is very early in development and TES6 is barely at the conceptual stage according to Todd Howard. CP2077 is a game that is three months from release and the only gameplay footage we have is some janky alpha stuff.

That does not inspire confidence.

janky alpha stuff.
Right...

Anyway, lets speculate on the night city wire from the developers perspective.
You know how i would do it? I would plan out the 3 episodes roughly, get most of the time dependent material ready and then i would release the first episode.
And wait. Wait for the reaction.
And then i would try to address this reaction in the second episode in some way, the same with the third.
That's why you're not getting those episodes right away, that and also because its 3 months of wait to go and they need to pace them out.
Look, don't expect a 24/7 newsfeed of new info because at this rate they would have to lets play the entire game for you, and they wont show anything past the prologue.
Also i would really appreciate you guys expressing your opinions without resorting to shitty memes, just sayin'. If you want to say that something is good/bad a gentleman's way is to also say why.

I didn't hear anything about durability and it would be weird to include it.
Only fallout did it right.

Fallout new Vegas made being gay a significant advantage. You could get free repairs from that faggot at the Mojave outpost with the confirmed bachelor perk and for a large part of the game he was the only merchant who could repair items to 100% durability

Vagina couriers btfo.

I was talking more about how durability was thematically appropriate and mechanically rewarding but your description works too i guess.

Jokes on you, i was sarcastic as well.
Its kinda hard to tell if somebody is sarcastic or severely retarded these days isn't it?

Durability is either completely useless, and can be removed, or absolute shit to deal with and should be removed.

It can work in games like Minecraft where resource use is supposed to be part of the game but you don't have bullets IMO.

They had it in Witcher for no clear reason.

Yeah, because geralt was tending to his equipment in the books and they "wanted to be faithful".
Unless you find durability in cyberpunk 2020 rulebook we can safely stop talking about this now.

Did the book say "And then Geralt broke his sword fighting a single enemy that was a couple levels higher than him, but kept hitting them with it anyway because their patterns are pretty easy and he's stuck in this quest and the last save before it was hours ago"? Because they where pretty faithful in that case.

Survival games are the only ones where it makes sense, everything else is tedious or punishing. Breath of the Wild was stupid because of it, god forbid you find a better weapon and want to use it, you just gotta save it for a boss fight but you forgot so you use the weaker weapon and kill it anyway.

The difference in W3 was that they weren't just throwaway and they never actually broke irreparably. And repair kits were easy to find and easy to make.

Anyhow. I don't think it will be delayed again.

Will it be a bad game? Like I've said before so many times on here, no. Will it be good? Yes. Will it be really good? Probably. Will it be stupendously world-beating? Probably not, because W3 was such a tough act to follow. At this point, the hype is such that if it doesn't give you an IRL blowey joey while you wait for the installation, it'll be the WORST GAME EVER.

Just a hunch based on their behavior and track record so I don't get let down again lol.

I dont expect news every month but they're the ones saying "a couple weeks" from the first ep. To ep. 2 and over a month without saying when that'll be has me a little cautious. Thats all.

Looking at my work calendar by weeks instead of days, the release really isn't that far off when you take into account how intensive development for this kind of media can be and account for production time for these things going gold. So the lack of an update on on when to expect their next promo stream has me feeling a little 🤔
