Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

I sent the body to Vik for a proper post mortem and I got a few calls from Mama Welles saying Arasaka busted into the morgue and stole Jackies body. Afterwards I got a conversation with Takemura about Arasaka using the soulkiller on Jackie and I thought I would get a sidequest where I have to save him and give him a proper burrial but I don't know how to do it.
There's no mission to get his body back. Depending on which ending you choose he might turn up but that's it.

You do get a mission if you send his body to his mom's place. There's a memorial at El Coyote Cojo and you get to poke around his garage and learn a bit about him, then you can choose to give a eulogy.
I also haven't found the quest to kill Adam Smasher. I'm guessing, again, that he will be a superboss like the dragon in Witcher 2.
Yeah, he turns up eventually. Can't miss him.
I find it funny how much some of the redditors on r/cyberpunkgame are sperging out about people enjoying the game after the Black Friday sale. Imagine being upset at people who are having fun playing a broken game at a low price.
Both subreddits are pretty bad echo chambers, cyberpunkgame is super negative while lowsodiumcyberpunk is overdosing on copium. I legit once saw a post saying that the police AI doesn't work because V isn't supposed to be a criminal or some shit.

Final boss. Not sure why you'd expect otherwise. Dude's also packing enough firepower to wipe out half of NC, but I'm assuming you already knew that given the prologue. Fortunately there's more than enough cover. I just ran around on the outer ring of combat arena and dumped rifle rounds into him with the odd quickhack. Psalm 11:6 and Widowmaker are a hilariously broken combo. For general combat use its hard to go wrong with Buzzsaw though, since 99% of the combat is CQC... and its an SMG that pens cover.

As to everything else, you'd think stuff like that would be the bare minimum for an RPG, especially one like CP2077 where there's all sorts of books to draw inspiration from, but nope.

one year later-
Steam:
  • 82% positive reviews in the last 30 days (out of nearly 30K reviews).
  • 76% positive reviews overall (out of 415K reviews)
It also has 7.1 user score on metacritic.
However,

This is somewhat odd to me. Judging from the reviews, you'd think they're pulling a No Man's Sky.
Also people ITT seem to still have a hate boner for it
The game ended up so overexposed that everyone will know what it is but also ended up dirt cheap. I guess it ended up being almost like McDonald's in that way.

that's probably why they are mad, people should be paying full price to enjoy this janky shit, probably.
sure it's cheap and it's janky so it's a good combination, if it was expensive and janky then more power to the outrage.

you can easily trap him after he gets from the door and finish him off there, he only gets invincibility frames during the times he's supposed to banter with you, we are at the lastest patch and they still haven't fixed that shit, if you have teammates it gets much faster even on hard. it's because melee staggers enemies, smasher included.

there is still a bug that can happens which will misplace jackie's corpse on the car and you can loot him for a random quality loot, i couldn't get the pic of it but he spawned me a blue smart pistol, kek.

So apparently the next Witcher game has live service and multiplayer elements. I don't know what happened between 2015 and 2019 but CDPR is becoming EA in record time.

It could be for Gwent.

Just to give some insight, there is a standalone card game for the minigame that was in the Witcher 3 (that is quite different, but it's still a card game) that's been going for about 5 years now. They released their roadmap on Sunday for the future of Standalone Gwent and the Director of it confirmed he was being moved to an "unknown project" within CDPR and someone else was taking his position. This guy, Jason Slama, was one of the designers for the original minigame and ran standalone Gwent for 4 years before this, so it could be he's being moved to help expand some minigame potential within The Witcher 4 (This is absolute peak optimism) that utilizes multiplayer.

Or they're definitely going to bring in something retarded and burn themselves to the ground again. Which, after Cyberpunk wouldn't surprise me, but so far in Gwent they haven't done any Black Trans Woman art (yet) and most cards released everyone still has white skin, save for the Ofieris. However, with their Kickstarter board game, the Manticore School seems to be... suspect.

I'm not very optimistic about this all, especially after the Cyberpunk shit and reading a lot of this thread, but I do like CDPR's Witcher universe. So I guess I'm surviving on pure cope that the next Witcher game they do won't be another The Last Of Us Part 2.

To be fair, the Manticore school is based in the Far East, past Zerrikania, which doesn't exactly have fair-skinned people living there. Just look at Azar Javed from Witcher 1 for an example.

This honestly has me worried for future CDPR games, and I say that as someone who logged hundreds of hours into Cyberpunk 2077 and the Witcher Trilogy before that and enjoyed all those games. I hope CDPR pulls back from this, but I don't know if they will.

They've been fully infected by the AAA disease, so fuck 'em.

I was tempted to buy this game for $30 AUD
But I've decided to get some others on special instead: Rage 2, Greedfall, The Talos principle. Dunno if I made the right choice.

The Talos Principal is a good game. I didn't like Greedfall or Rage 2 but taste is subjective.

they're objectively ok games imho where the only point of discussion is personal preference, which is one of the reasons no one talks about them anymore.
which in this day and age makes them borderline 9/10 games...

Greedfalls fun, especially the magic build, especially if you build via building up your bar to spam heavy attack to abuse i-frames and become an immortal punching god.

smart play would've been to just release a slightly-better-than-mediorce game in line with the rest of most AAAs and quietly move on. that they couldn't even deliver that, hype or not, is the real issue.
the game is slightly better than mediocre, but even the most optimistic and bright-eyed normies got dick slapped by the realization that the game had literally no playtesting. the reason it's so maligned is that even the kind of people that enjoyed bioshock infinite knew something was wrong. it's the fact that the game isn't better than the sum of its parts, nothing meshes together. the shooting is fun, the driving is fun, the world is cool, but there's so much unutilized potential you're forced to look at that the game feels like a tech demo. the hype train was enough to float a bad but finished game, but what we got was alright but completely half baked and it just gave everyone a taste for the fully baked version that will never come

I enjoyed Talos Principle as well. The puzzles are tough, but it's a neat game with a bit of philosophy in it. Hard to believe this came out of the same studio as the Serious Sam games.

In December 2019, I was told Cyberpunk would change gaming and be the biggest game ever.
In December 2020, it came out.
In December 2021, barely 13,000 people on average played it on steam in the past month.

I think the worst thing about it is that it's not even famous or infamous, its just... there.
I don't hear any news about it, anyone saying good or bad, and even for the one year anniversary, I barely saw any content about it being made.
As a character said in a much better game: "Apathy is death", and this game is fucking dead.

It's a singleplayer CRPG, not some multiplayer focused title with lots of online content for people to spend months worth of time on. I played the game for hundreds of hours and will likely play through it again once the proper expansions start showing up.
