Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

NMS wasn't even multiplayer until a year after release.
it's in now and still getting updates while most games get dropped after a year so you buy the sequel.

The excuse of "he announced it too early" is bullshit as he was saying this shit would be there on launch just months before release. It was never advertised as being a game that would be expanded as a service, hence the huge controversy at launch. It is the exact same scenario as Cyberpunk.

No Man's Sky bullshit revisionist history is why so many companies at this point feel like they can get away with bullshit like this. But I do agree, this game will never be fixed on the scale of NMS because most of the main issues with the game are core gameplay and story issues that would require way too much money to completely reverse.
if he did you can quote it, right? not to mention there's a big fucking difference getting asked "will it have X, can you do Y" and the answer is a simply "yes" by some bloke of a indie studio and a company having several hundred people working on the game with a dedicated PR department and marketing strategy pushing the hype hard with celebrity endorsements and completely fake gameplay.

hardly any project goes as planned, and shit like that happened LONG before NV or NMS - see daikatana, see spore. we're at a point where fucking microsoft let's their fanbois do windows QA. if you want to blame someone blame retarded consoomers, lots of companies makes up bullshit to sell you shit, just check the date here:

that didn't start with NV or NMS, nor will it stop with cp2077, just look how many retards bought new world. and speaking of revisionism, NMS never got sold as a game bigger than fucking star citizen, but for some reason that was what people were expecting even if you take everything sean murray said at face value. same way people thought cp2077 will be so great it will be the last game they'll ever play. it's a fucking singleplayer game you can't even mod, at some point it's over and you can only replay it so much before you've seen every variation. even if cp2077 would've been a 10/10 game it still wouldn't meet the expectation some people made up in their mind.

I think the gravest downfall or rather the biggest lesson to take away from this is never leave too much at your customer’s imagination. Actually you’d be better off leaving nothing to their imagination because the speculation they make is way more unrealistic then the expectations CDPR probably had.

I don't have a beef with NMS after all the years of fixing and updating, but Murray did legit tell Stephen Colbert and the world that face to face multiplayer was in the game, when it absolutely was not until the Next update.

Hooray, the game is the state it should have been in at launch.

Luckily, my street samurai build was mostly unaffected. Satori still does ridiculous crit damage, so all I had to do was shuffle a couple points around and I could get back to it. Maybe I'll get one of the endings before Elden Ring, but I'm not holding my breath. Game still feels pretty shallow.

Someone already posted the Colbert thing, but there's also this

You didn't follow No Man's Sky at all until it got "good", I'm guessing? And you're going to try to talk to me about revisionist history?

People like you are the reason this industry is the shit heap it is. But please, keep blaming publishers and customrs for shitty devs and buying alpha builds at 60 dollars because "they'll make it right and it's always been like this!!"

Yeah its not like publishers are the reason why gaming is in the fucked state it is and yes shitty devs do exist but given how most gaming fuckups are due to bullshit from publishers yeah sure bud how much EA paid you

Better question, how much do you spend on games that you end up not enjoying, or at minimum only enjoy out of cope a year or more down the line?

At some point gamers need to learn to stop being nigger cattle if they want good games instead of just blindly spending money and hoping it all works out down the line. Or is that a "lol praise EA" take in your retarded head?

Not any since i ACTUALLY FUCKING WAIT for reviews to come in also gamers are niggercattle wdym you autistnigger both are at fault gamers and publishers

Just read the 1.5 patch notes and the stuff about multiple apartments. Whoever leaked that a lot of shit had been cut before the game was even out was apparently 100% right. You know they didn't just work on it from scratch, that shit was already there, just cut from the game.

That isn't news, at release some people found unfinished parts of the map including at least one apartment and posted videos of walking around the diconnected map areas. We've known for over a year now that there was fucktons of cut content.

Considering the dumpster fire this game was at launch, it's safe to assume anything that was cut was cut because it broke the game even harder trying to keep it in.

As they slowly unfuck the game, I'd expect more of that cut content to be reintroduced - I can't see them introducing much more beyond that, I doubt there's money in it (especially not big DLC's or Expansions - sure, you could make them Post Game, but one ending still requires getting Keanu back, and that's probably most of the budget there, unless they go the Payday 2 approach to Keanu...)

Played some more 1.5 now and I forgot how to melee. I got the uncommon version of the slowtime ability (while maintaining the cyberdeck) and everytime I trigger the timeslow proc, my character crosses stupidly large gaps. If I time it right I can gen an omaewamo moment. I hit level 7-ish and my cyberdeck feel stronger than in the previous patch. I could 2 shot maelstrom and TC's but I don't know if I would have had the same luck if I went full swordsman.

I deffinitely need to get faster quickhacks and upload speed. I'll try to challenge myself and only upload debuffs for eyesight, traps, sonic shock, etc but no combat hacks. I got the knife throwing skill but for some fucking reason enemies don't drop knives and I refuse to buy one on principle.

With swords, the starter paraline deck, green programs and most of my perks invested in quickhacking I can't take on more than 3 guys at the same time (2 if they are gunners). It takes me 5 swings to bring someone down: 2 3hit combos, sometimes using the defensive slice followed up by a heavy attack. Interestingly enough, my level 6 ninjutsu feels stronger than on previous patches (It takes, maybe 2-3 secs more to see me).

Anyways, I'm playing with low armor and getting caught in a crossfire means I'm dead. I still don't know what I have to level up to get more defense. I see mitigation being thrown around but I don't know what it does, so far my only defensive strategy consists on killing my enemies faster than they can shoot or disable enough of them so I only have 2 people riddling me with bullets.

Pre 1.5, with 3 points in tech you could invest 1 perk point into grenadier which made V immune to the effects of their own grenades. You still could blow yourself up but in my case, I chucked a flashbang and ran towards it since I was immune. That gave me 5 secs to slice and dice that mob of enemies without risk. That perk is either gone or the devs have gone full NO FUN ALLOWED mode and put it behing 18 levels of tech. Same with the extra HP perk. It used to be behind Body 4 - so, at most you only needed to invest 1 attribute point and then you got +10/20/30% HP. For a squishy character, +30% was a godsend, especially at the highest levels, when you can spend your perk points without worrying too much. Now it's behind lvl 12 body.

What fucking retard thought of this change? If you have a high body character, you naturally have high hp, if you want to dump a few points there do it. If you want to facetank, you need those HP points asap and if you need a pick me up, it's there. Now they have removed the only advantage that perk had - fast access. Same with the critical stat squish. My sword used to give me 500% crit damage and 45% crit chance. Now that is a weapon that you can call legendary. I dread to think what they've done to my poor Satori (I'm still dicking around Watson).

I detest the NO FUN ALLOWED mentality. It's such a zoomer approach to gaming. Everything must be balanced, no weapon is more special than other, no skill is more useful than other. Fucking snowniggers, I'm the protagonist in an RPG, by the mid game I want to be able to blow a hole in the moon with my revolver if I want to. Are some skills broken? Hell yes! Let them be!

My first playthrough was spent looking at the skill descriptions and making a choice of what I wanted to upgrade. When I saw that the slav squat gave me flat 15% to crit chance at level 7 cool, I was giddy with excitement. "Go nuts!" CDPR was telling me. I honestly hope there is a mod that gives me a rollback on the stats and skills to 1.31.

And speaking of mods, here's something for the coomers, 3rd person gameplay with thicc V:

Oh so u only wake up with your mate in bed in underwear....no nudity. No actual sex. Like at least gimme grunt and moaning lmao.
Is the world still empty? Curious how the citizens are

Overall it functions now, and its a pretty game. But beyond that its a shallow shitfest that masks itself as something deeper than it really is. It's no wonder reddit loves this game
This is the Houdini too much of the games industry has been able to pull with a number of games, mostly in the live service sphere. "The game's good now" is cope code for "It's gotten marginally better than the absolute gutter trash/bland mediocrity it was before. Cyberpunk's problem will be that it doesn't have any multiplayer functionality yet, so doesn't have the inherent fun of messing around with friends providing cover for its failures.

Either way, it'll never be the game they presented in 2013 with that trailer and that description. No amount of patching will change that.

After doing a full story playthrough, a playthrough with essentially all content done except main story and the 4 relationships, going through my third one is impossible.

If my account cleared Act 1, give me the option to skip it, PLEASE.
Doing the Heist just isn't fun anymore due to there being no cutscenes to skip. (Was any of this segment fun to begin with?) You have to sit through a lot of gameplay that is routine to a T. The junkyard segment is also insufferable.
Having the game be difficult is actually appreciated, but as everyone and their mother has already said, the game is too shallow to care about, especially on console with no mods.

Lol this is a few days old but I thought this was funny.
I guess you can no longer buy this shit show of a game if you're in Russia or Belarus. Oh the horror!
It still keeps delivering if you look at forums / social media.
- Russian consoomers whining "I stood by your shit game and didn't refund it and you stabbed me in the back baaaaaw"
- GOG bet heavily on expanding to Russia and even appointed a Russian as its vice ceo or something
- retards going "Russia will run out of money without VAT from GOG / other consoomer cancellations" as if that money won't go toward buying domestic god fucking dammit my brain hurts
- "now do China / Saudi Arabia / Israel / US"
it was more for the 10 people who didn't own Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete.
Russians pirates are much better at preserving software than GOG itself. Rutracker is now unblocked, and there's talk of not enforcing copyright on "products which have left the market" (Not that the block worked all that well - the only thing which prevented people from pirating games was only ever moralfaggotry.)

I don't game these days, but as an anecdotal opinion metric: Parkrun (running as a hipster lifestyle) has banned Russians, and the soyest, most anti-Russian, pro-Ukraine guy I've ever seen is ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS that politics got in the way of his self-image. NO! I SWEAR TO NEVER REJOIN!!!1! THEY SHOULD COME TO US CRAWLING ON THEIR KNEES BEGGING FOR FORGIVENESS! He's now self-funding a replacement. If that's the attitude in the Gamer Community (tm), too, consoomer copyright in Russia is finished.
