Sure, game’s finally in a state where it’s playable without too many major crashes, unless the expansion is a complete overhaul it won’t fix the fact that the game world is still boring as fuck.

I, too, was one of the people that waited until a good portion of time has gone by... and if I look at the state of the game currently I can only wish it released in this state. I know it's an unpopular opinion but I really enjoy my time with the game. The world is freaking gorgeous and the aesthetic of the neon is something that completely grips me. The score is a joy to listen too, I only wish I could turn the other kind of music off, but alas, I don't think that is possible. Performance wise I can only say, thank the gods for DLSS. That makes the game at run at least mostly very smooth. Not the greatest game, for sure, but one I will continue to spend some time wandering around in.

Their best hope at unfucking the franchise is releasing some really dense expand alone set in Tokyo. Cyberpunk autists love that shit, i know this because i'm a cyberpunk autist. I remember the original rumor was that you would play a Max-Tac so an expand alone where you played some Tokyo Max-Tac would win most people over. Throw in some anime references for the weebs and they'd be golden.
I really don't see them following the games main plot in any way tho. None of the endings you can follow up on, so it has to be a new character. Unless Vee just decides to take a long trip somewhere while actively dying.
Most likely though they've just taken whatever districts they removed during development, pieced them back together and push them out as expansions.

No, you can go with V. Aside from the one ending where you let Johnny take over V isn't actually dead. Arasaka puts you on ice or you head back down to Earth, the Nomads know some people who may be able to help, IIRC, and the Rogue/secret ending has you take a job for Mr. Blue Eyes, who is working for Night Corp, the people responsible for some brain-related fuckery you get involved with.

Doing something after the Panam ending or The Casino heist ending would be alright but theres one major issue. It would require an ass load of new assets/animations/voice acting etc and the support/dev team for cyberpunk has been bleeding staff since the month after release and it's tiny now. Unless they just already have those lying around for whatever reason i don't think it's gonna happen. I'm still of the opinion that the "expansions" are just gonna be whatever districts they cut before released and have them stitched back. Hey, if we're lucky we might even get functioning trains.
Otherwise i'm not super interested in revisiting the game to be honest. The character are meh, nightcity is uninspiring, the one disctrict that could have been interesting (pacifica) was in essence a mall and 2 piers. In an attempt to defy genre conventions they ended up making Cyberpunk 2077 even more generic than it would have been otherwise.

Seeing you could make v a "man with a pussy," was the moment I regretted ever buying the damn game even it was on sale at a major price drop. I suddenly realized why it's called the cyberpunk 2077 grieving thread on here. It didn't get better once I got over that initial reaction.

As the game went on I thought to myself "man thank god Alan wake remastered was on sale too. " then finally by the I sat down in the flying car and was half way across the city that changed to. "is that goosebumps game finished installing yet?"


I've gotten more enjoyment out of a mediocre point and click game for kiddies all weekend that I have from all of the first 20 minutes of a triple a game that was hyped to hell and back for months of not years.

I, too, was one of the people that waited until a good portion of time has gone by... and if I look at the state of the game currently I can only wish it released in this state. Rate me autistic but, at the state the game is in right now and buying it at a discount you will get more bang for your buck than you would 2 years ago. If you want to bumrush the story, you can get some very good quests out of it and if you're like myself and just want 20 mins of action/combat, you have it as well.

If you want to bumrush the story, you can get some very good quests out of it and if you're like myself and just want 20 mins of action/combat, you have it as well.

I got it on sale for $20. Made worse purchases, like Sword of the Stars 2 for $8.49. I have few regrets in my life, but that one haunts me and will until the end of days.

Instead of people adding guns (which frankly Cyberpunk really, really needs given how ugly some of those designs are) we get... nekomimi.

No, seriously, what the fuck is that thing? No, that isn't the latest ComBloc assault rifle either, its from Militech, the unofficial owners of the USA. And it looks they kludged together an AK-47 and some aftermarket parts from H&K.

And look at that! Its like the Raging Bull, but fugly. The grip looks uncomfortable and the trigger guard and trigger can both get caught on just about anything, so not only is it ugly its a liability to the wielder.

You know what the pistols in this game remind me of? That boxy barely even a gun looking 10mm model Bethesda uses in Fallout 3/4 because they're afraid of getting sued if they make it look like a real life pistol brand.

It just stems from the fact that they tried to do the whole " THIS ISN'T YOUR GRANDPAS CYBERPUNK!!!" stick and tried to modernize it. It's the only reason why the soundtrack is primarily shit ass rap and pop instead of rock and techno. It's why a lot of the vehicles, especially the pricey ones, look like concept car vomit. Why all the NPCs are dressed like Homestuck cosplayers. Why the guns are uninspired jumbled up pieces of metal.

Instead of trying to re-invent the wheel they should have actually gone through and looked at the art from the sourcebooks and gone " Okay, lets refine this" instead of just throwing it out in favor of some generic art direction.
