Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

If it becomes good why does any of that shit matter? New Vegas and The Witcher 3 are excellent now but were borderline unplayable due to bugs and instability at launch.
My bad, I didn't realize that all of these AAA releases were early access titles.

You really can't understand why some people might be pissed they weren't given what they paid for at launch? You really see no reason why people shouldn't hold developers and publishers accountable for shitty practices? Or hold them to any sort of standard?

I get you weren't there, but you're *really* underselling how bad Cyberpunk was. Cyberpunk literally got taken off storefronts and people were being given refunds because of the state it was in. It was a lot worse than the game just being a 7/10.

Why do people act like this game killed their family or something? I played the buggy release version and it was nowhere near what was promised but a solid 7/10.

Years later though people seethe with anger if someone else doesn't hate it enough, why? That's fucking weird.

People are way way angrier at Cyberpunk being average than actual pieces of shit like Saints Row or outright scams like Star Citizen.
People just keep believing what triple A devs keep saying about their games. We know they’re lying. we know they won’t have all the promised features, and we know they’re buggy. It’s just how the market is.

I’ll agree with New Vegas but not The Witcher 3, that game was perfectly playable at launch. New Vegas was a fucking mess though, especially if you were a retard like me and for some reason bought the PS3 version….. ran like shit and was the first time I ever saw that red error triangle display when there’s issues with the models. Pull out my pistol and it’s just a big red error lol.

Not every game comes out a broken, bug riddled mess, missing features that were promised at launch. People specifically had faith in Cyberpunk because CD Projekt put out good products in the past.

Still think Witcher 1 is their best game and I’m terrified what’s going to be changed in that remake they announced. Gonna take away my naked chick trading cards lol.

So on topic with the thread, do people here genuinely think the things being added in the update are going to overall improve the game? Seriously asking not trying to be a dick, because I haven’t played since I got a refund around launch on PS4. But since then I got a good pc and was thinking about picking it up if the update and the dlc are decent.

They'll let you keep your trading cards but they'll give White Rayla a dick or something. CDPR took the ESG pill hard and even made a video about it. Expect Azar Javed to be an actual nigger this time.

Probably depends on what you thought of the game originally. If you thought it was good but just needed some extra polish then the 2.0 patch will likely be a nice improvement. If your complaints about it went beyond polish and mechanics (i.e. the story, quests, and the like) then I doubt it'll do much.

As for Phantom Liberty, I'm putting no stock in pre-launch hype. Journoscum were giving CDPR handjobs over how great 2077 was before its official release but then it launched and they all had to walk back their praise. That said, TW3 had great expansions, so I'm not completely disregarding the chance of it actually being good.

does the expansion fix the story and the promised "roleplay" in a "living breathing city"?

there's a difference between technical issues, missing features getting added and integral but expensive parts actually getting changed and improved.

CDPR really stretched that tho, on purpose. cp2077 was far from sony uncharted bullshots or watchdogs downgrades.

I have shit to do and a life to live. If I put time out of my schedule to play shadowrun GTA but no magic and I get wheelchair fraud simulator instead when I could be doing a myriad other things I have a right to be fucking pissed.
I don't give a shit if wheelchair fraud sim was passable I was promised shadowrun GTA.

And considering the changes so far I'm guessing we still dont have it. I want to at least play arcae cabinets and go cyberbowling fucking dammit. But since I have 70 bucks to burn since I didn't buy the trainwreck that is starfield and the DLC was 25 bucks might as well.

Lmao. This game was the definition of hyped up. This was supposed to be "the game".

7/10? No. 7/10 games don't crash and burn like this one did. It was shit. Maybe the expansion will be good, but that doesn't retroactively wipe away the absolute shit that CDPR released years ago. Didn't someone from CDPR not too long ago try to dismiss all of the complaints and claim that it was all unwarranted and the game was actually fine?

Eh, I'll reinstall when 2.0 drops next week, play around with it, and then decide then if I want to grab the dlc.

no because the story will be shit and the main character again will be a no name random asshole living the story of another idiot in this case idrid elba

similar, but imma try that "pirating dlc with gog games onto the steam game folder" thing and if that fails i just pirate the game in full from there instead
I'll be holding off until the first few patches get dropped to fix the inevitable bugs, as well as see how long it takes QoL/bugfix mods to get updated to match. Definitely going to be running a Sundowner build with lots of Body and Reflexes and run around shooting and chopping.

Personally I love them splitting off the handguns and marksman-type rifles into Cool. It was underutilized in the base game and a Reflexes build was just too damn versatile in what you could use. A Nomad-inspired gunslinger is on the cards as an option, too... Just missing a nice lever-action to go with the revolvers.

I just can't give a shit about Cyberpunk anymore. And I'm one of the people that thought it was "alright" when it came out because my PC ran it fine and I didn't get hit with any game breaking bugs.

I might watch the new ending on Youtube though.

This is another point I want to bring up.

They promised an RPG for like 7 years, then promised a GTA game for like 2 years, and then didn't provide either.

I don't know. People give me shit for bringing up Cyberpunk a lot, but it was a legitimate fucking screwjob to their fans that shouldn't be forgotten.

And I really want to stress that point. I bought Cyberpunk at launch. I played it. Hell, I enjoyed it for what it was. I, personally, didn't feel like I was royally fucked because, by the grace of god, it ran fine on my PC and I never faced game breaking glitches.

But I also wasn't hyped for it. I hadn't been following it for years. I knew about it, sure, but I wasn't hyped. Their most hardcore fans were the ones who were truly fucked over by this and it shouldn't be forgotten. People that bought it on PS4 were truly fucked over and it shouldn't be forgotten.

And I'll even say this, the fact that Sony gave it a pass and certified it, only to then offer refunds and take it off their marketplace after it launched and didn't work on their base hardware should never be forgotten. CDPR isn't the only one who should always get shit on for Cyberpunk.

Going through all the new trailers is giving me deja vu 2-3 minutes of gameplay mixed in with cinematic trailers and them yapping on about how its actually going to totally be good this time ghuys its the same shit they did leading up to the game.

I tried giving it a chance a few months back and the small design choices like turning the radio music off when you get into combat annoyed the fuck out of me.
