Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Played through the game for the better part of several weeks and did virtually everything that one can do quest, side quest, and gig wise. The game amazed me because virtually nothing in it was original, yet they put it all the pieces together in a fantastic manner. Had a ton of fun with it and was one if the best games I've played in ages. Also loved just how much of the game was inspired by Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.

I got back into the game after quitting halfway through, why the fuck am I getting jumped by gangsters whenever I get into my car?
In a recent patch they made it so gangs will hate you if you fuck with them often enough and will pick fights if they see you going by.

They do it at the absolute worst time too. I failed an escort mission because three cars of very high level Maelstrom gangers did a drive by.

After I raided the Maelstrom surgical center where they do their initiation rites for that one gig I had a car with a trio of elites show up right as I got out and start shooting. God damn was that one tough fight.

What's the current best mod manager and what are some must have QoL mods? It's been almost 3 years since I've touched this game and I'd like to give the 2.0 patch and PL a chance.

The only QoL mod I consider necessary is the one that removes the level cap, because after four RPGs CDPR still can't figure out a XP system for shit.

As usual, MO2 is best, but having tried out a couple collections Vortex works too.

I really don't like how they added camo pattern to the trauma team uniform and made color more greener at release. Flat "paramedic green" was much better.

This happened to me too on that exact same gig. It might just be a scripted event. The only shit I'd really done to fuck with maelstrom was do the all foods mission from the prologue.
I always thought that the coolest thing the game could have done would have been to add some kind of off brand nemesis system for the gangs. The more you fuck with a particular gang, the stronger the goons they send after you become. Allow the player to rise through the ranks of a gang and add reputation for each. Make alliances or wage turf wars. Push a gang back enough and kill their boss. It would have done a lot to make the city feel alive

honestly not sure what the people bitching want. do you want cyberpunk to be a bad game?
They want to ride the hype of being smug and smart about avoiding the flop of the initial release while shitting on the game for being a mess forever. So yes.

The game got fixed. Should it have been good from day one? Yes. Does that change the fact that if you play it today it's a pretty good game? No. Sucks to suck. Can't change reality.

So I got Cyberpunk for the summer steam sale. It's running my i9 12900k at 90% a lot of the time, with the 4070 super roughly at 70. Ram is interesting, out of the 64gb of DDR4 3200, it's usually only dipping into 12 ish gb. It's also on a m.2, a Samsung 990 2tb. Output is 1080p at 60fps on a 23 inch screen. Settings are stock, which I'm guessing are overkill for my screen.

Thing is it runs REALLY well. It's just hogging a lot of resources. I don't dare open youtube on the second monitor lol. Any thoughts anyone? Is it the settings running on autistic turbo, or is it just that heavy?

Also on the game itself. I'm a hour in. It's really fucking fun. Love the gun play. The hacking looks interesting to try out once it shows up more. And the story is pretty solid so far on the street kid route. On the guns, since I'm a gun nerd, I find them cool at the very least. The game also looks great, even just at 1080p on a 10 year old Dell 16x9 monitor

The main difference between BG3 and CP77 is one game was honest about being a buggy PoS on release and the other hid it.
If CDPR simply called it early access and 2.0 as release, then it'd become a legend and not a punchline.

But no, the shareholder-driven company just had to rush release to scam money off sunset console users. Insane.

What do you mean by stock settings? 2.0 added some 4000-series specific ray tracing settings, which might explain why it's hogging your CPU if they defaulted to them. I have a i7 12700k and my usage didn't seem abnormal, enough to have no issue alt-tabbing or using my second display at least, but I also have a 3080ti.

I've been able to check some stuff. I think it was my power settings. They were in balanced mode, not performance. The CPU was getting throttled. Im getting 80% usage now. High but not insane for what i'm seeing. Often it dips below that now. It was a me fuck up lol.

Makes sense then why they put so much effort into patches and Phantom Liberty. With the budget being $400M+ it didn't make a profit until after the expansion; it was a do or die like when they had to choose between porting W1 or finishing W2.
I loved Phanton Liberty, but I made the mistake of choosing the same route in my second playthrough when it comes to siding with Songbird or Reed.

Songbird’s character story is a pretty good and emotionally compelling one for a viddygame

EDIT: all ~370something hours I’ve played have been on a Steam Deck and the performance was fair to average, do not bully me

I fucking hated that bitch lied to me all the time about the cure. I just dropped her in front of Redd.
i only did that because i wanted to see the new ending they put in. not sure if it was worth it or not. also i had a max weight limit in that epilogue and couldnt do anything about it for some reason so v just walked around really slow
