Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

VA from one of those ecelebs was in a recent trailer. nobody noticed.
Those ecelebs were in witcher 3. nobody noticed.

Is all this complaining really that fun? Jesus christ this endless bitching, im so sick of people being sick of everything.
Do you not have standards? What could they cut from the game that would make you reconsider consooming? Would the losses of good parts of the game, while that time gets spent on useless trash not piss you off?

Give me a list of what was cut and explain in some detail how it makes the game worse. Then i will point out things that were never in, and laugh.
Btw i'm collecting hats because they're pretty, give me more hats.

CD Projekt Red's stock has fallen 25% in two months due to delays and negative PR from crunching.

I can believe that. When there's this much hype and delays after you said there'd be no more delays, it's squeaky bum time for investors.

The allegation is that the current gen consoles need more optimisation. But they probably can't put it out on PC first because that would probably breach agreements with Microsoft and/or Sony and get them sued. Given how hyped the game is, not having it for console sale on one platform on release day will probably lose more than just the sales of the people who will buy on release day out of bitterness.

This is assuming that the incorporation of "e-celebs" is a zero sum game and that their characters would not have existed in some form without the "e-celeb."

Suppose we've got a character who has a quest. Now, the quest scripting is done, the art and graphical assets for the characters involved and the design of the level where the quest takes place is done. That's all going to be the same anyhow. Now, how much work do you think it is really to record some lines for the "e-celeb" to be that character and to slightly tweak the face on their model. If the "e-celeb" pulls out they can just record the lines with some other voice actor and put the face back.

It is an assumption that it's budget as a whole has marketing and development budgets.

That's a lot of benefit of the doubt for a company that is too incompetent to either figure out how calendars work or budget time.

how calendars work or budget time.

"No plan survives contact with the enemy" - von Moltke.

It is the same with any project I'm afraid. I'm in litigation. That, like software development, is a movable feast. Covid-19 not withstanding, the number of things that could go wrong unexpectedly and have a high chance of occurring is quite large.

I very well understand that they might have to cut back or delay, and there's some line for everyone (hopefully). Which is why I'm curious what you would consider too far? Are starcitizen or yanderesim ok models?

This is a long way short of Star Shitizen though. This actually has defined end states. Star Citizen has shown nothing other than demanding more money and selling pre-orders on microtransactions. Here, we've had definitive gameplay footage, previews of actual content and so forth. The game map has come out. The art guide has come out (on here and other places). There has been a hands-on press event for it. This is clearly not vaporware. This isn't like Star Shitizen where they got their tame fanboys to ooh and aah over basic gameplay features, like, erm, flying the spaceships and, erm, landing on planets.

Like I said earlier in the thread I will admit to being a bit crushed by the extra delay, esp. as it's after it's gone gold, but I'm not seething about it like some people are. I do accept that it's hurt a lot of goodwill towards the game. I suspect it'll probably have damaged its review scores because GARME JURNALIZTS hated CDPR anyhow over the twanzphobia (see the ReeeeeeeesetEra thread) and the Chromanticore advert and shooting at a predominantly black gang marked "Animals" and all that, so there'll be more motive for them and also the public at large to pick at minor faults.

Star Citizen has jpeg spaceships that cost thousands of dolars and by devs admission won't be done for literal years. Even if they were the environment those jpegs are supposed to fly in isn't done either, and won't be for even more years. Their roadmap this month had an estimated 2% DROP of completion rate in some areas and overall the game is not even halfway done after 8 years while siphoning absolutely bonkers amount of money from its followers.
YanSim is getting a few thousand in donations every month and has barely progressed past a prototype after 6 years. Also the dev is a sperg who doesn't know how to code.

Youre comparing those to a 60$ purchase you can withdraw at any time, for a game that is 99% done.

Star citizen might be a bad model for this, this seems a lot more like No Man's Sky. I'm not ok with a game being delayed repeatedly, then released without fulfilling the marketing from before. I truly don't understand the mindset that people have that lets them accept it as acceptable practices.

What's up with all the celebs, sub-celebs, youtubers, and thots cameos in this game. Anyone know exactly how many are they?

I've found out recently that even a youtuber from my country (a piss poor shithole where everyone pirates games, so the stupid poles are earning absolutely nothing with this marketing stunt) is featured in this game. I just imagine the amount of resources and money was wasted modeling and writing quests for those useless characters.

The mismanagement is astounding. With all the shit that we know so far I have the sensation that the marketing crew kidnaped this game from the designers. It's one big hype and meme generator and nothing else.
It just dawned on me that all the celebrity cameos could be entirely unpaid and voluntary "we'll put you in the game if you record a few lines" type thing.

If that's the case, then that's extremely good thinking on the casting guys. More voice actors, less budget spent on those voice actors because they're too retarded (being e-celebs) to realize that they're doing it for free. I'm assuming quality will be up or down based on the caliber of the person since it's not like these people are all proper actors.

If this is true, and afaik we have no evidence to prove or disprove this unless one of the many e-celebs bragged about getting paid for it, it makes perfect sense as to why so many are in the game. Free advertising and free voice acting to pad out the voices in your game so you don't end up like a Bethesda game with its startling 6 unique VAs.

For the majority, nobody fucking cares who these people are and they're just padding the number of actors. For the special few who have somehow given a fuck about e-celebs, they get to clap and vigorously masturbate over their funko pops.

This might explain it, but unless it's confirmed either way it's total conjecture. It'd be the smart choice for the casting guys if they could get away with it though.

Eh, people just don't like getting "lied to". If you tell them something is going to be in the game and then its not, they feel like you lied so they get angry. If you tell people that people that you're going to release on a certain day, then move it back, then you "lied" about when the game was coming out. The more lies there are, the more people are annoyed. The bigger the lies are, the more people are annoyed. Its one of the reasons 76 was such a mess, if it didn't break so many promises it wouldn't be nearly as hated.

So when they come out and say "We pinky swear for real on our grandma that this game is going to come out on this date!" and then move it back again people feel like they made a bigger lie than the previous delays, which where already little lies that everyone can give them passes on since we had that whole pandemic thing.

Excuse me, what the fuck?
the alternative statement is that they again reassure they will hit the December release date which after the previous delays would just be hot air, there's no winning here.

Well that seems a bit problematic, don't it?
yep, the entire era and twitter sphere raised a big fucking stink about it.

I cannot wait for this game to need patches a week after its launch and still be a mess. That, or after all this time it's utter mediocrity with a few after coats of interest to hide the bugs and poz
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Witcher 3 a hot mess for a little while after launch? And that was a game that had a lot more going for it being a sequel with things to build on from the previous games.

The whole pronoun thing got me thinking (and I hate that it has), have they said anything about how romance sexuality is triggered?

I mean, its been said that the romances are straight/gay/bi whatever, but how does the game recognizance what you are?

If you have male body and voice but add a pussy does that mean the straight girls wont touch you, or will a lesbian be happy to suck dick as long as you look and sound like a girl?

that's a good point, but I think whatever happens it will be problematic, toxic, ableist, perpetuate rape culture, reinforce gender stereotypes, or any combination thereof.
with that hype and whatever people think the game will be in their headcanon some people will be triggered.

can't wait for it tbh, the cringe will be spectacular.

If I understood it right, it's about the junk. So if you're male presenting and sounding, but have a pussy, straight girls won't be interested? But I also can't find anything that talks about it rn, so I might be wrong.
