Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

WOW Look I get we're here to crack jokes but some of you guys are stupid. Don't you remember this is CYBERpunk? You know, with mind-hacking and AI brains and holograms? Obviously the story takes place in a simulation as experienced through a brain (the player's) we already know has two consciousnesses in it, V and Keanu Silverhand. Why WOULDN'T it look "buggy" when the entire game is obviously leading up to the reveal of V's unreality in a false world?

Proof: In "Observer" there were tons of purposeful glitches whenever Rain Tears mind-jacked someone for information. Those glitches showed the disparity of the real world and the false world and would later bleed into the real world as the protagonist suffered not only trauma but the side effects of his mind-jacking job (and being influenced by another consciousness). It's typical cyberpunk.

Case closed. The game is working as intended.

I have a 1080 Ti. I have a horrible feeling it may be a bit cinematic on same.

Journo bitching is of course a given. Just that single shot of the Chromanticore poster caused autistic screeching. Den of Geek has a chronology of all the "controversies" the game has been involved in already. I expect there to be way more.

As regards this French leak. Do we know which system it was recorded on? And when? If it was a standard Xbone / PS4, it probably does look like ass on those systems because they were outdated when they came out even in 2013. But, yeah, if on release there's "prefab missing" expect that to become a meme on par with Skyrim's backwards flying dragons on PS3.
 
The game went gold what, a month ago? So they'll have had five weeks to work out a release patch, it's not going to be nearly as bad as the leaks are showing. Not to say that it's gonna be great or not janky with bugs, since this is CDPR we're talking about and it took them months to get some of the Witcher 3 bugs ironed out, but I'm not expecting a train wreck either. My honest expectation is a competent first-person RPG with some snazzy visuals and a lot of glitches that won't go away for about six months. The problem is that a lot of people are expecting Cyber Jesus to give them a handjob through their screens as their lives transcend through the glory of the best game ever, and there is going to be saaaaaaaaalt when that isn't what they get.

You make good points but as it's been said previously this game's competency will hinge on two things: the story (writing, performances) and gameplay. Glitches can always be overlooked (unless it's this hilariously bad, yeah) but if the game is trash it's trash, and that's the real misfortune here. A game that's buggy but fun isn't really that bad for free but if the writing/soul of the thing is just brainrot crap then...eh

My predictions for user ratings:

- Loads of 10s from fanboys and consoomers.
- A fair amount of 9s who reckon it's a good game with good writing but with some flaws (which will be the case.)
- A significant minority of 2s and 3s from Woko Haram claiming it is well written but literally murders trannies and BIPOC.
- A flood of 1s and 0s from people still butthurt about no third person / that it's not the best game ever, ever.

(If I'm wrong correct me, but) Basically prefabs are templates for assets. I think most game development programs have it so that if you make any changes to the base prefab, then they're copied to all instances of it, but I don't know if that's a thing with Cyberpunk's engine.

So prefab missing means they either don't have a placeholder model for whatever it's supposed to be, or the base template got fucked up somehow. While I'm not big on console gaming, I do doubt that would be an issue with it running on different platforms.

Real question is, how long until "It doesn't need to have prefabs" gets incorporated into the sip?

No joke, I expect a massive one to drop. FFS I was looking forward to this one, in spite all the shit. Still don't know which is worse, this or Kingdom Come Deliverance on Console? That fucking game had whole buildings take 30 seconds to spawn, you could be horse riding to get out of the castle and not moving anywhere, only for the cart to finally spawn in front of you.

This is going to be a wait to see how much of a fuck up it is.

Edit: 56GB day 1 patch, nigga what the fuck...this is about the Fallout 76 day 1 patch size.

To be fair people have been calling new vegas THE BESTEST VIDYA IN ALL OF THIS CENTURY and it was just an okay action-RPG without tiddies and a dick slider.

The user's activity page should show the pictures still, can confirm the PS5 and day 1 patch thing but no "30fps" from that dude.

Anything on if the PC got leaked? Pirate version might be coming out before the actual version if that's the case.
