Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Oh my fuck. It looks like steaming dog shit.

:stress:

All the previews focus on little scripted segments and snippets of combat quickly cut together. Outside that, there's clunky mocap, bad pop-in, 2004-era ragdolling, terrible vehicle collisions, and all sorts of other shit that's really inexcusable for an AAA game in 2020. I almost can't even believe what I'm seeing.

That day one patch had better be a great big fucker, or every outlet is going to give this 6s and 7s.

Bro, Last of Us Part II got like good review scores, the bar isn’t that high.

They haven't put out the day one patch yet from what I understand. Man I don't think a day one patch will save the PS4 and Xbone version of the game for people that didn't shell out the money for the pro versions or whatever. Jesus fuck the lack of shadows
Yeah, I have no Idea why anyone would get the PS4 or XB1 versions. The sad thing is the videos here seem to all be ps5. Reminds me heavily of Ubisoft and their e3 vs release versions.

Well its not like most consumers have a choice. PS5s and whatever the new Xbox is called are basically collectors items as far as I know at the moment. Had the same issue getting my 3080, shit just isn't available. I have to listen to one of my coworkers complain about how its literally impossible to find the new Xbox except from scalpers. The PS5 and Xbox versions honestly looks fine, dunno what you're talking about in terms of a downgrade. Looks on par with what they showed in their Xbox and Playstation footage. I'm surprised they look as well as they do as well as run as well as they do. I believe both versions are targeting at least 60 and from what I see, it doesn't struggle to maintain a consistent frame rate which is good.
Game looks fine overall though. Dunno why people are getting in a fuss about bugs and what not considering Witcher 3 had literal game ending bugs at launch along with some that killed quests. That game turned out fine. Combat looks like its at least Witcher 2 tier in terms of quality which is playable. Hopefully late game combat develops as well as Witcher 2's.

All these bugs. Maybe they haven't put out the day one patch yet.

My thoughts also probably lacked the day one patch.

I genuinely think the game looks great. Despite some bugs / glitches that isn't making this game borderline unplayable.

Some people during the stream were just shitposting / posting disappointment with the game /trolling.

And I think these people just have overdosed on hype /expectation for the game. (CDPR oversold this / PR /marketing)

But I look forward to getting the game in mail.

Also note This game isn't for everyone.

How long before release do they send disks to print?

Perhaps they could fix many of the bugs with a day one patch, though they can't fix that stale looking gameplay so quickly.

Either way hopefully it's fun, but this is no GTA-killer/GOTY/etc

Disks are already in stores. They aren't being put on shelves until December 9 or 10, depending on where you are. They are saying the day 1 patch will fix alot. We'll see.

I think the reason the sex scenes are clothed and you don't see any penetration is the game would have an adults only rating. Stores usually don't carry adult only rated games and sales would suffer big time.

Look at how fast Rockstar took out the Hot Coffee mini game with GTA:SA.

I think a game like this should be adult rated and show that stuff. But from a money making standpoint I understand why its like this.

Sometimes I forget they made a hollywood movie in 2017, but it probably just gets forgotten because it went the cyberpunk 2077 route of just putting neon lights everywhere and people wearing silly costumes

When at least personally what drew me into the world of the 1995 movie was the clash between the old and new world.
That's exactly what made the original Deus Ex ten times better than the Square Enix timeline. (They're good games too, but nothing can live up to the first entry.)

Yeah, but in the Last of Us 2 there is this scene of the self-insert of Neil Druckman fucking a tranny, so you know that Naughty dog is a good ally, and CDPR are ebil nazi transphobes, because ... I don't remember really. Some dumb joke twitter most certainly.
But my point is - you know what kind of dev is going to get the better review score.

Not to be an asshole but AC:Unity had a much nicer map. Sure it didnt have cars but almost every building was explorable. And that was a premiere launch title last gen and what i would consider the top urban open world. The fact that they couldnt just rip-off that enviroment and combat and then toss in RPG elements in 7 years is fucking pitiful. Especially when AC unity only took 4 years and again, was last gen.

Remember that the disc went gold back in early October. That means what you see now is what devs and testers saw then too prior to CDPR saying "holy fuck what is this shit?" and pushing the release date a month. Day one patch is essentially the initial debug that all games have plus an additional month of fixes (for some games this is pretty standard and done almost weekly).

If Day One patch isn't fucking huge, I'd be concerned.

From what's been posted here, it seems that for all those years they weren't working on a game. They tried to ressurect a corpse instead.
Development started during the ps3 era and it feels like a ps3 game so it totally checks out. Most of that time was probably spent adding content , padding and editing the shit out of it but using a bunch of outdated engine and assets from 7 years ago. It reeks of dev hell all over.

Compare what were seeing with this. The graphics are sharper and the weird LoD problems aren't nearly pronounced. I have no doubt the game will at least be fun, but it looks janky. Also, look at this cunt bragging about having a 3080. I bought a 2070 super, and a few months later, the 30 series comes out. Fuckers.

Not to mention it genuinely takes a lot to create a sex scene. Add in customizable genitalia and it is a nightmare. They probably just did it to cut down on development.

For those that don't know, think of picking up a cup, and realize what it takes to make something simple look simple in development. That is a static object being manipulated, and companies still struggle. Now imagine sex, and all the moving that goes into that, from both sides. That's months of extra dev time for just 1 scene.

Witcher was literally the only games they ever made prior to Cyberpunk, right? A one-trick pony game dev company isn't too surprising, then.
Nope, they also made the port of Saints row 2, which is infamous for being buggy as fuck.

great job hosting them on YouTube where CDPR poolish copyright sharks are filling illegal DMCAs.
Sorry Null, only found them on 4chan. Didn't know they could take down from streamable. (:_(
