TLDR reviewer-only DRM causes performance issues.

idk what Steve's going on about here. Theres no way the DRM causes the massive deviations from the supposed recommended specs. But hes looking at it from the perspective of a tech reviewer not a game reviewer so exact framerate differences do matter more in that sphere.

You have to really fuck with its settings, the optimization is dog shit. Red Dead Redemption 2 runs better on High on my 970 than NMS does.

Physics are fundamentally broken in a game 2 days from release. That is inexcusable.

It does happen, though. Heck, some devs actually dug their heels in about keeping DRM even if it resulted in a worse experience for consumers while pirates were running circles around them (I think it was AC Unity).

Which doesn't inspire confidence if they think that's acceptable to have review copies be bogged down in terms of perf. Wouldn't change shit about bugs.

Heck, this is just asking for people to pass around the GOG version of the game.

to put it this way: levine was so butthurt about BS2 he retconned it in infinite (the dlc is a load of shit anyway, but it did give us mommy liz).

It's thoroughly average, Meaning it's doomed to be forgotten in 3/4 months while the usual NPC's move like a plague over to the latest triple AAA dreck that's being shat out

The curse of mediocrity claims another AAA game. But the blame lies squarely on CDPR based on what we know so far
