Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Okay. Here's my two.. My fistful of cents.

On my PS5 it runs beautifully, crashed once in 30+ hours of playtime, no real game breaking bugs. The game has a hard time when loading a save though; Sometimes it warps NPCs around and even spawns new ones that weren't there when you saved or resets their patrol AI (which will fuck up your stealth run).
So I called my sister who got it on her pretty decent PC and she's having a terrible time with objects or even NPCs and cars popping in just before they hit her.
Called my powergamer friend who's PC could probably calculate for NASA, and he's having just a good time as I am.

Decided to install it on my PS4 and DAMN it's as horrifying as people say, even after the first patch. Sad really. The game is extremely fun, the world is interesting and damn if the story doesn't suck you in (far from finishing the game so no spoilers pls).

Now on to the gameplay.

First the difficulty:
Easy = Getting regeneration (slowly heal yourself in combat) makes you unkillable even without armor. Enemies die in one hit.
Normal = Like Easy, but armor actually matters a little. Enemies are squishy.
Hard = Suddenly melee isn't viable anymore, enemies will kill you in a few seconds even if you have a tanky build like I have. Even if you're in cover, you'll get hit and it hurts.
There's a harder difficulty, but I haven't dared to try it yet.

Movement:
The cars handle like a bull that's being constantly shocked on the balls. The slightest tilt of the right stick will make you careen towards the other lane and often make you crash. No wonder I ditched the cars unless I actually had to drive one for a quest. In fact whenever an NPC says that they'll drive, I sigh in relief, knowing that I just have to shoot some attacking vehicles with LMGs and Rocket Launchers. A far preferable choice.
And when you get to act 2, NPCs will start spamming for you to buy new vehicles. It's okay, but there are a LOT of different cars to buy and when you have around 75k €$ in your pocket, you're not likely to go for that 249k car. The sad thing is that all of the buyable vehicle markers will stay on your map as new quest markers, which will annoy you when you're checking around for new gigs.
Besides that, cars are pretty useless as, unlike in GTA, there are many, MANY annoying moments when you actually have to wait in a line because you don't have enough space to pass the other cars without getting the cops after you. That and there's free fast travel.
Besides the game doesn't reward you in any way for driving. By sprinting and jumping constantly, you'll level your Athletics skill, which will boost your carrying capacity and stamina bar (and it gets xp reaaaallly slowly).
Now when you have the cash for cyberimplants on your legs that grant you either a boost jump (hold jump button) or a double jump, you can forget vehicles all together as it's much faster to fast travel and then just jump over obstacles.
Otherwise the first person movement feels responsible enough and hopping from roof to roof is pretty fun when hunting for targets.

Combat:
I can't really complain here.
The guns feel nice and solid, there's a good amount of "OOMPH" to them. There are some instances when you get that perfect headshot and the target won't die in one hit, but it's far from the grindy snorefest of Borderlands. Shotguns stumble and even knock over enemies when fired in close range. Automatic guns like SMGs will suppress normal enemies dead on their tracks.
Pistols on the other hand.. I have to pay for ammo, so why would I get the automatic pistol that has a headshot multiplier of 1.2 and does piddly damage per shot, when I can get a revolver that has a headshot multiplier of 2.0, uses the same ammo and does major damage per shot. They even have the same DPS.
Melee weapons are pretty okay, you either spec into Blades or Blunts. Blunts have an advantage that many of them aren't lethal (many gigs require you to subdue an enemy without killing) so I always carry around a baseball bat. You can augment your arms to make them more effective with 4 different cybernetics. I've only played around with Gorilla Arms (enhance your punching power) and Mantis Blades (You can sprout blades out of your forearms and eviscerate enemies).

Leveling up:
You start with 3 (max 20) points in every category and have 7 points to boost them.

Body = Increased Health, Stamina, Melee Damage, increased movement speed with heavy weapons and when grappling enemies and maximum grappling duration (High enough you can grapple full on robots, rip open doors and turrets).

Intelligence = Increases your Cyberhacking abilities like RAM amount and decreases cooldowns on Cyberhacks.
I only use it to disable cameras so I have no fucking idea if it's good in high end.

Reflexes = Increases movement speed, passive evasion, crit chance
Pretty self explanatory

Technical Ability = Increases your armor by 5% per level
I got no idea what else it does other than let you hack open doors, consoles, robots, cameras, turrets, mines blah blah easier.

And then we have
Cool = Increases Crit Damage, your resistances, stealth damage and enemies notice you less. It also opens up some really funny conversation options.

Never take the perk to throw knives (blade dealer, I think it was called), you'll never get that 15k tanto, you just threw, back.
Also if you grab that perk for infinite sprint, have fun, sprinting no longer counts towards your Athletics level. So just hop everywhere.

I have a lot more to say about this game, but I need to hit the hay now.

Hacking is insanely broken. You can straight up sit across the street, hack cameras, and then short circuit everyone on the premises. It boggles my mind that several reviewers said hacking sucks.

The more I hear people talk about this game, the more I feel that people didn't play much past the heist.

Are we absolutely positive that Keanu wasn't directed to talk in that weird monotone way?

The only reason I say this is I found it really weird that V (or at least the male V) voice actor managed to get the tone and style of Keanu down really well for the parts where he's taken over by Silverhand.
Yeah, He's the world's most monotone actor this side of Ben Stein. Have some of you not seen John Wick, Point Break, Break Stokers Dracula or the Matrix? Because he literally only has one mode

You can also add Speed to that list too.

I love the fact that the defenders are trying to insinuate the fucking PS4 is some kind of unga bunga A/V cable machine, not that the game is a shit product that's poorly optimized.

I hate to say it, but what the fuck did people expect with mid generation upgrades?

This isn't even the first game to suffer from this. GTA V practically won't run on base PS4/Xbox One due to all the fucking updates to online last I heard.

It runs fine in single player on my OG Xbox One.

As for online, I wouldn't know. But if that's true, it's really gonna suck because in two days it's gonna get the biggest update in the game's history.

Not sure who or where you heard that from but it is running fine on my base PS4 lol. There's still the occasional bug that puts you in your own lobby but that is actually useful with cargo and biker missions since it keeps trolls from being able to blow up your cargo you just spent 10 minutes driving from one end of the map to the other.

Part of me wonders if, aside from the general fuckups and team fractures etc, the CDPR team are just PCMR mindset. It wouldn't be the first time a dev has fucked over console players because they think the "best" version of their game is on PC, just look at Bethesda's history. I haven't played Cyberpunk yet but I do think it still has potential, it just needs a lot of work and it's very clear the devs pushed out an unfinished product. And some of the shit that isn't even performance related is just retarded for a 2020 AAA game, like the car explosion physics. Rockstar did a better job making realistic horse genital physics than CDPR seems to have done at making realistic explosions or appropriately reactive AI.

Well I got my first serious bug, after doing a side quest that refused to complete because the fixer didn't call the fixer now doesn't call in for any mission I'm near or complete

I tried the game yesterday. Played a little over an hour and thought it was gay. Uninstalled.

edit: to give a little more info, after choosing to be a "Corpo," I got to the point where I was learning to "hack" in a cringe tutorial and I could hardly go on any further. There was a woman with her back leaning against a wall, arms folded saying something retarded. The machismo, bigshot, tough guy personas I kept running into became overwhelmingly gay to me, so much that I had to alt-F4 and get off the computer. Its just too gay for me.

GTA V ran like crap when it released on ps4/xbox, it's a lot better now but it used to dip to like 20 fps all the time.

Might have been an XBox issue but my PS4 had no problems running it when they launched the updated version, the only real issues I encountered were heist issues that were related to the sometimes retarded state of their online servers. Been playing the game since launch and the only times I've had fps stuttering/crashes bad enough to be noticeable have been when I was doing shit online like having tank battles with an entire lobby of tanks going at it outside eclipse condos. That's not normal gameplay so it's not something I blame on the game itself.

After doing a search for fps drops from GTA V on PS4 there are a few random posts about it but most of them have comments from others with the same experience I had, no real issues except staying connected to the servers. If that's the case that XBone players experienced persistent severe FPS drops, which it seems to be since searching for "gta v xbox fps drops" yields a lot more chatter about Xbone issues at launch, then I'll concede that Rockstar made a similar fuckup in that respect with GTA V.

My comment about the horse testicle physics from RDR2 being more realistic than explosions in Cyberpunk 100% stands though.

Prolly bait but still made me chuckle

Literally every GTA youtube complains about how it gets worse after every major update, on top of the fact I tried to play it on my base PS4 and was getting 20 FPS and lower. It's really hard to play the game with such awful framerates especially after playing it on PC. That's not even getting into the awful load times and disconnects.

But still, point is this is the stupid shit to expect when mid generation upgrades become norm. It's bad enough that every new console is filled with cross gen shit where you're not getting full potential on next gen and a shit experience on last gen, but then having an even "lesser" gen to worry about on top of it?
