Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Hasn't this always been a staple of Cyberpunk though?
In a way, yes. But for the general audience Cyberpunk basically means near future scifi.

If we want to be honest to the roots of the genre we would need to hit the philosophy aspect of technology etc.
Instead people just want some cool robots, a lived in city and Motoko Kunasagi sitting on their face.

I will continue to wait forever for a game to come along and give me both sets of those things.

@Secret Asshole get on it, man. I want to wonder what it means to be human while I'm smothering between sweaty synth G-cups.

I'm sorry, but I don't need another Last of Us 2 movie game trying to get overly deep on me.

The game gets the message across through the world enough. Did we *really* need more monologues from Keanu Reeves to get the point about technology and corporations being bad across?

I played that game last year, it was called The Outer Worlds.

I honestly think base console players might have grounds for a lawsuit. It was advertised as being completely playable and PS4 and Xbone one average about 18-20 fps with frequent crashes.
If only you could sue for disappointed expectations and the many hours invested into retarded hype threads on reddit... (not me, I didnt expect shit from this game. I still expected more tho!)

Given the state of the game, they will likely just offer refunds, so there will be no reason to sue i'm think.

That would be really cool, not gonna lie. Also in a way the game being fun yet having deep meanings would help both to come across better.

>not having 2B as your kenau chungus
It can be done. A work can deal with serious shit without taking itself seriously 100% of the time, and it's funny that you mention Robo-Booty because N:A managed it fine. Unfortunately it seems like Western devs don't understand that nuance in tone is important and can make a work feel much richer, even if other aspects aren't as well-honed.

Isn't that a legit cause of action in EU courts?

Also, the inclusion of e- and legit celebs just feels like a big waste of money.
Eh, I'm willing to bet that CDPR got a lot of sales from normies because they had Keanu on stage and in trailers. Though I can't say I see much point in it outside of marketing. E-celebs are genrally not voice actors so they tend to suck, and legit celebs phone it in because they don't really care about games and could make more money doing a short ad.

Here's a group photo of the dev team by the way. This explains so much about how this game turned out the way it did.

They obviously should have just released the PC version and a version for next gen consoles and forgotten about the PS4 and XBone

But with 300 mil in development costs they had to chase that money.

Many times it feels like the games are just aimed at try hard teens in general. Maybe that is just my personal opinion.

It reminds me of using Celeb voices in cartoons instead of proper Voice actors. Maybe it works for normalfags. Who knows.

The reputation that CDPR gained until now is why it was so hyped.
With the Witcher 3. That game turned them into the loved company and people instantly forgot how agressive they were with the pirates around the W1 and 2.

Of course the "gamer" community has a memory of a brain damaged gold fish and the spine of an amoeba. See how quickly they bounced back to liking Blizzard after the company messing up for years without end. ugh
