Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Figured I'd throw my two(hundred) cents in here. I've put probabl;y 25-35 hours in so far, I've cleaned up what feels like probably 75% of the side shit, and from what little I've heard (mostly in relation to when the Rogue's side missions start) I'm well on my way to finishing the main story. Honestly my impression so far is bacially just a giant "meh". There's some good bits in here, I've quite enjoyed the main story so far, and melee combat is fun and surprisingly effective (even if the katana animations are janky as fuck) but there's also a lot of bad and I'm not entirely convinced it can be fixed by either patches or modding.
The most obvious issue is the major graphical bugs. I'm running on a decent 2080ti build, and I'm not going for absolutely insane settings and it still has fairly major issues. The most obvious one is a lot of textures, especially characters don't load properly. I spent a good 5 seconds staring at a guard who looked like an early ps1 tier animation before her texture loaded correctly. The other issue is objects straight up not loading at all. More than once I've been thrown off my bike because a car magically spawned in front of me. Most other graphical issues are related to animations not loading properly. During the first brain dance mission Judy leaned forward on the arm of my chair and then got stuck in that pose and spent the rest of the mission heelying around bent forward. I also have a hilarious issue where whenever I get a call from a fixer in game the weird AI cab driver (Delemain?) is there either lurking in the background, or straight up clipping through the other person.

However the biggest issues IMO, are related to design/gameplay issues, and this is why I'm not sure patches/modding can fix this game. The driving, especially on mouse + keyboard feels like absolute fucking ass. Cars float around more than Muhammed Ali filled with helium, and trying to correct minor skids usually results in wildly overcorrecting and crashing into something. The side gigs feel like the most boring pointless busy work imaginable . The gunplay, at least early on doesn't feel that great at all. Without perks/mods I found it like shooting nerf darts. I tried to stealthily snipe a guard with a suppressed AR headshot, and ended up having to dump a 3rd of a mag into his head to put him down.
Finally there's the tiny little annoyances that show just how rushed/not thought out this game was. Like why do I have to schlep 750m back to a pickup point to collect my bonus reward cash when they simply transferred the regular payment? Why the fuck do I have to drive all over the city to physically purchase cars instead of just buying them online? Why is the skip convo key also fucking crouch on PC? Why is there no holster weapon hotkey on pc and instead I have to use the fucking weapon wheel?

One interesting thing I wanna note is a threw a copy on an old spare PC which sits somewhere on the lower end of the scale between minimum and recommended specs as a test. What I found interesting is that while the graphics are horrible (as expected) the game was surprisingly smooth to run. Usually when I test games like this on the same computer there's at least a slight bit of lag that makes playing it, even at lowest graphics settings untennable, but there's no hint of that here which is surprising.

I do have to say seeing Elon Musk shit post on Projekt CD announcement apologizing for how bad the PS4/Xbox One game is/offering refunds just really ties everything together.

Managed to have two crashes before even starting the game. One while going through resolutions, and the second crash after I finished creating my character. Fantastic.

I hope there's gonna be a Crowbcat compilation of streamers panicking while they're making their (female) character without realizing there's gonna be some titties out of the blue

I want to mention this because everyone is going over missing features, glitches, and other roughness, but I want to talk about something else the was lost in the crunch. Balancing; the rush on this game is really obvious in the complete imbalance of some mechanics.

For example, quickhacking is pretty stupidly broken. You can quickhack at extreme line of sight ranges, or completely off site using cameras, all without alerting the AI. Seriously, the fact that their fellow goon just erupts in spark and flame doesn't trouble any of the security that sees it. I have killed everyone in a building from a block away without ever triggering combat.

The game gives you tools to draw enemies into line of sight of your cameras, and overcome resistance to hacks as well, so all it takes is patience. Higher level enemies that would kill me instantly aren't a threat, all they eat is time as I slowly chew through their HP as my RAM regenerates. I'm barely leveled and as long as I can hide in a corner or access a camera nothing can touch me. (Except the lack of collision when I try to perch on a roof like a technogargoyle.)

And of course, pistols are completely busted. I feel like some of the Alpha Protocol team moved to Poland!
Another thing that I’m not sure has been covered in the thread or not. The gorilla arms letting you tear open doors and rip out turrets was changed to that just being a body stat check, but the item discription wasn’t updated.

Legit stupid. Mod will fix it hopefully.

A shame, that would have been really cool and in keeping with the setting. The whole "I'm a nerd but I spent a lot of money and now have hulk arms" was always funny to me.

Oh well.

The Panam ending doesn't really have a bad side. V escapes the cycle of night city, his brain is his again, and he has a family looking out for him. Sure his body rejects the brain, but even the beginning mentioned changing a brain is impossible while a body is just a matter of money. The story paints it as this terrible thing as if V isn't a famous merc with tons of connections he would have to be retarded to die.

Yeah, maybe I just don't completely understand the tech in the world but aren't some of these people basically complete cyborgs? That one chick Grimes played certainly seemed like it.

I mean I get that's probably tons of money but shit you'd think it wouldn't take a complete fucking cyborg body to avoid this rejection shit.

At least they work during the boxing missions I guess. They really needed to keep the special abilities for the arm upgrades in or they need to think about giving them something back. As it stands right now they’re all just stupidly expensive extra weapons that don’t scale that (coughborderlandslootscalingcough) well compared to melee weapons. The other active ability implants like the berserk or the bullet time on command one aren’t great due to you haveing to remove your cyberdeck, which you’d never do because of how broken quickhacks are. The arm cannon also lets you break the game with tranq rounds btw.

The final boss is 96% robot V is fine. Going by 2020 rules replacement organs are entirely possible meaning technically V could just buy an identical working body.

lmfao is it bad that I legit completely forgot about Adam Smasher? I've only done the Panam ending so I assume he has a much better showing in the Rogue ending.

Man, I really didn't think about it until now but CP2077 ending is original Fallout 3 levels of pants on head stupid.
