Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Sony/Microsoft should learn a valuable lesson from this. Don't accept pre orders until they KNOW the fucking game is done and in a playable state.

They should have took one look at Cyberpunk on their systems and told those poles to get their shit together if they expected them to not only allow this on their systems, but to sell it on their storefront.s

Instead they've been taking pre orders for god knows how long and it's starting to look that there is absolutely zero oversight when it comes to AAA games being put on their networks.

They 1000% need to honor refunds for even allowing this shit to be downloaded.
Or they can offer a refund system like Steam's. 2 hours is usually how much you need to know when a game is shit and I think the PS4 had a system to know when cinematics were playing because they could disable the stream during them, so they could probably calculate better than Steam can on just how much time is wasted on cinematics before you get to the meat of the game.

Sony had to do this because CDPR said it was okay to ask for refunds and to go to Sony. Outside of the fact they almost certainly didn't ask Sony if this was okay, this sets a bad precedent for Sony because their refund policy has been, for the most part, go fuck yourself if you've downloaded it. So they have to go scorched earth and piss in CDPR's cereal by removing it completely, even for PS5 players, so that no one gets the idea to fuck with them and their strict refund system.

Here's the question. Assuming CDPR does fix the game and update it with QOL improvements, will we get a "bro it was bad, but CDPR stuck with it and now it's good, good on them" counter-circlejerk in a year or so?

Hey guys my name is Brod Noward. I heard this Cyberpunk 2077 thing really sucks. If you need something to play this holiday season how about The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim?
The fuck out of here with your musical theatre.

Probably.

We've seen it with No Man's Sky and Sea of Thieves (I think?) as well as every Witcher game.

Why not this too? People love a good cumback story.

I mean if they did it then they deserved it. No man's sky lost all goodwill when it released and manage to win them back in time.

I'd prefer games come in physical disk and doesn't need 1~2 years of patching to be playable but I guess that's where we are.

Probably. It happened for stuff like No Man's Sky and I even heard it about Battlefront 2 recently and those were equal internet shitshows. Did't really follow this game much but considering almost every AAA game this generation it would have been more shocking for the game not to be a fucking mess.

Sony is offering full refunds for the digital download version of Cyberpunk 2077 which hasn't happened since TLOU2 preorders.

After an internal review the game did not meet the contracted agreement and has been removed from the Playstation Store. Essentially CDPR lied to Sony.

That's one way to fuck your company.

Sony absolutely knew the state of the game when they certified it. Microsoft did too.

Sony probably had some aggressive contracts involved in it being on PS4 and probably specifically this year with the release of the PS5. Wasn't that the excuse as to why they couldn't just release it on PC back in November?

What a time to find out that Sony/MS put as much thought into what they put on their storefronts as Steam did with Greenlight.

Dumb but understandable. Shame. It is embarrassing. But I hope they can patch it up. Maybe once they get a working version they can rerelease it.

Tbh the outrage feels very sjw. I recall Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas having tons of glitches and shit when they were first released. But I also feel many expected Witcher 3 level quality....except they're totally separate entities.
