Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

CD Projekt cannot do that with the management that it has in place. The management is 100% responsible for what happened. Without its removal it cannot move forward and the same mistakes and problems that fucked Cyberpunk 2077 in the first place will remain. Especially if the studio head is this exceptionally fucking retarded.

even with the management completely changed, CDPR isn't 12 dudes in some office, the costs alone will eat a lot of the already diminished profits. so even if they'd want to, they'd then have to answer to their shareholders (which are pissed already) why they dumped millions into a dead game and most likely dead IP.

also lol at those english only speaking tards "they were talking polish in front of me" - yeah no shit people using their mother language when it's faster and they speak it better. it's very progressive demanding people to not use their language too!

There were so many warning signs (Not giving review copies for consoles, the numerous delays, not letting reviewers use their own footage)
The biggest warning sign was when the first gameplay video looked like a generic cover shooter with a bunch of gimmicks.
That and Witcher 3

I finished the game by going with the nomads and from what I saw it’s probably the best ending even if you are going to die in six months. I just wish they had done more with the nomads as I felt that they were much more interesting then the gangs in the city. The one good thing is that the nomads was the importance of everyone having your back and in today’s world that seems lost. I hope and its a long shot that we get dlc by trying to cure your character with the nomads and some chatter I’ve heard from data miners it might happen but we will see.

There's two "good" endings, in my opinion.

One is selling out to Arasaka, and trusting them to put your construct on ice and find you a body at some point in the future. I think in some ways this is the most "cyberpunk ending of them all.

The other is... Accepting you're fucked any way you go, staying as a construct in cyberspace, and letting Johnny have your body. At least this way, someone survives in the real world. And you're still "alive" in a sense... And call me crazy, but Johnny is just crazy enough he might come through for you at some point somehow anyways. Say what you will about Johnny Silverhand, the man is a force of nature when he wants to do something.

I mean, they're going to have to dump millions in it anyway. They have a massive, MASSIVE legal problem if they don't get it working on PS4 and Xbox One. So they're going to be spending it anyway. Not to mention people are already looking to sue their dumb polak asses.

What is the backstory on why every one is excited about this video?

Crowbcat makes some excellent and pointed commentary about gaming clusterfucks in the industry, and all without saying a word. He lets the cringy footage speak for itself and it can make for some pretty hilarious outings. He hasn't made a new video in almost two years and most were convinced he was gone forever.

pulling a NMS would be millions on top of that for very little gain. to make matters worse, who even cares at this point really besides people with a grudge (and who didn't refund it)? so all they really have to do is make it run acceptable enough to be legally in the clear and sony to take them back (which, depending how butthurt sony is, even a perfectly fixed 11/10 game wouldn't suffice).
"they fixed it" might be a nice redemption arc for some, but not for everybody, and it's still debatable how much that would transfer into actual profits. the damage is done.

19 minutes in, he's roasting them with a fuckin' LEGO game.

As seen on /v/:

You realize that NMS basically not only restored the reputation of its studio, but made people want to buy the tons of DLC it pumped out after the redemption arc, right? This included people who were turned away from it initially. Massive companies don't pull a NMS because typically they have multiple studios and multiple projects, so they can eat the loss. CD Projekt is unique in that it works on one project, it really doesn't have anything else.

CD Projekt banked its entire reputation not to mention nearly a decade of dev time to it. It doesn't have any other projects or teams to fall back on. It cannot get back its reputation. It can't just, like other publishers, foist the blame on the development team. It IS the development team. I'd say it has to pull a NMS, otherwise its basically just going to be acquisition bait for a bigger company. It has no other games or products. It is not big enough where it has other things in the pipe. It doesn't have teams. It has no other products. CD Projekt is feast or famine with one project at a time and that famine period is going to feel very long indeed.

I'd say the only path is for them to do a NMS redemption story, but that will not happen because of shit management and no idea why the product failed in the first place.

It is going to be insanely difficult to just make this 'good enough' and still have people buy your other shit. CD Projekt's reputation was the thing that differentiated it from other companies. Without that, its just another EA, Ubi or Activision.

NMS doesn't have dlc, every update was free. they don't have any other games either (prolly one of the reasons they stuck with NMS), besides the last campfire, and that's more a publishing gig I think. they're still working off the money from 4 years ago and additional game sales, it's one of the reasons people give them so much slack.

they might try to sell dlc at some point, but I doubt it. not only wouldn't it really fit into the game besides superficial stuff, so would look like cheap monetizing, it would probably still generate bad PR.

not having anything besides witcher and cyberpunk also means they don't have an extensive IP catalogue to plunder. any company that buys CDPR would just get a bunch of devs that just shat out one of the biggest debacles in videogame history. no assets and no talent doesn't make it very attractive.
that's actually an argument for a NMS treatment, but it also begs the question where the money's supposed to come from. any money they dump into CDPR won't go towards their next project that, even with their tarnished rep, will most likely generate more profit than cp2077 ever could at this point. it's simply more sensible to salvage what's economically feasible and move on than double down.

It is going to be insanely difficult to just make this 'good enough' and still have people buy your other shit. CD Projekt's reputation was the thing that differentiated it from other companies. Without that, its just another EA, Ubi or Activision.

what does reputation matter really? for CDPR it was a lot of hot air anyway from lot of people being retarded, and considering EA and it's funky bunch are still in business with all the shit they've pulled and still do, all CDPR has to do is shill witcher 4 featuring ciri (so progressive!) and everybody will conveniently forget cp2077 or at worst reserve their judgment till launch and not preorder outright (lol jk). you know it, I know it.
heck, if they're smart (and considering their marketing department just sold a turd to millions of people) they could even build on that by being upfront and open about it to generate hype and forget cyberpunk even faster.
