Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Ya know what, I don't care how the video game turned out or what it's legacy is. Because of the hype, I got Cyberpunk Red, and that makes it all worth it.
CPRed is supposed to acknowledge CP2077 to a extent, and CP2077's lore is a fucking nihilisticfag mess. mike pondsmith got out of his fat ass to write the game but hot damn i do hope homie gives the IP to someone who can actually make a fucking game next time and write shit proper, if i hadn't dwelled into CP wiki i'd be floating like a autisitc moron of not getting why CP2077's lore makes no fucking sense and even then it only explained a thing here or there. IT STILL DOESN'T MAKE SENSE, they wanted for mike's motto of "there's no good guys in night city" but they missed that mark by fucking autistic astronomical units, it's fallout 3 faggotry all over again.

Are there even any actual branching dialogue choices in this game? I'll admit after forty or so hours I got frustrated by the CTDs and didn't finish it but in both side and main story quests the dialogue trees looked like this

option 1 - Highlighted main choice that moves the story along

option 2 - tell me more about this thing (does not influence anything)

option 3 - sarcastic V quip (does not influence anything)

@Secret Asshole you finished this shitheap right? Are there any branching dialogue paths?

Reminder that I saw someone claim cp2077 was a "sublime experience".

Only really the choice on which ending you want.

Other than that, the only other example I can think of is the quest to get the flathead drone. You have the option of meeting with Militech, then you can choose to betray them or not. It has no real effect on the story, but you can bang the Militech chick if you go along with their plan.

well, some games do, ff14 comes to mind. however, that was with the assumption 2.0 is gonna make the money back and then some via subs and microtransactions.
but an "open world action adventure story"? yeah, good luck with that. that's why I've been saying early on it's simply not feasible to fix it properly (on top what ever people think it means when they compare it to NMS).
My thinking is that you always need to keep 2 things in mind with FF14 and how they brought it out of the gutter.
1. Final Fantasy is an extremely old, storied franchise that is emblematic of Squeenix the way Mario and Zelda are for Nintendo. Making sure they fixed it was a matter of honor them.
2. They happened to have one of the only Japanese developers that’s intimately familiar with modern MMOs on staff and willing to go to the board daying he could fix it if they gave him control. I highly doubt CDPR has anyone like Noaki Yoshida that they can bring in.

they delayed the patch because muh cyberattack,

fuck off cdpr
Can someone please explain to me why a hack involving the source code of GWENT getting leaked somehow leads to a patch delay?

IT infrastructure being breached is horrific, but not only is that shit not at all connected to game development staff AFAIK, but the financial info of the employees - the big thing they were worried about- didn’t leak, even after being auctioned off to the highest bidder. So I’m having a hard time believing that that’s what’s causing the delay unless the entirety of CDPR was under “mental duress” and just couldn’t work under those conditions. In which case: LOL that’s fucking pathetic.

Also double fucking LOL at them yet again not learning their lesson and increasing the scope of a bug-fix patch. $10 says this gets delayed for a second time. $20 says it ends up completely destroying the game and somehow making it even more broken than it already is.

A few fun snips:

So, CP2077 has best driving, stealth, melee, is a "brilliant shooter", the "best game ever" (that sounded like a joke, lol), is a "sublime experience" like new BF2 (lol), and you're missing out BIGTIME if you're obsessing over some small glitches.

This is probably just some generic commenting at this point, but figure I'd post a few snips from what I read over at HardOCP.

My guess is end of summer. Its becoming clear they're incapable of fixing this game and if they were smart they'd drop support, apologize, and announce The Witcher 4.

They're not smart though so they'll continue to fuck up.
dude i don't think announcing witcher 4 will do anything. the fanboys are already delusional, in fact it might get the rest of the gamers worried and hardly get any attention of the media because gamer journos are still fearful all the hype they created coming back to bite them in the ass.

The only real 'branching' path I can remember aside from the beginning was the Judy romance where you could go one of three ways in taking over the club. Besides that, nope.

Here is the Jason Schreier article about the patches being delayed because of the hack.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...erely-disrupts-work-on-cyberpunk-game-updates (Archive)

CD Projekt SA said Wednesday it will delay a promised update to the much-criticized role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077, pinning the blame for its slow progress on a recent security breach. What the Polish publisher didn’t say is that most of its employees have been locked out of their workstations for the past two weeks, according to people familiar with the matter.

The work stoppage is the result of a ransomware attack disclosed on Feb. 9. The extent of the disruption, which hasn’t been previously reported, poses a major setback to CD Projekt’s attempt to rescue a game in desperate need of repairs.

CD Projekt has said it refused to pay a ransom to the hackers. As a result, employees remain unable to log onto the company’s virtual private network, making it impossible to access the systems and tools needed to do most of their jobs, said the people, requesting anonymity because they weren’t authorized to talk publicly.

Although some CD Projekt employees are working from the headquarters in Warsaw, the majority are at home due to the coronavirus pandemic. CD Projekt didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Despite the unplanned vacation, the hack has been a nightmare for employees. The invaders may have had access to their personal information including Polish identification numbers and passport details, leading the company to tell staff to freeze their accounts and report the security breach to relevant parties, said the people familiar with the matter. Workers were also asked to ship their computers to the company’s IT staff to be scanned for malware or other intrusions, the people said.

Since Cyberpunk 2077’s unsuccessful release in December, CD Projekt has been working to improve the game in hopes of spinning a redemption story. One software patch, released last month, focused on bugs and stability issues. The next major update, which was previously expected to arrive this month, is now slated for late March, the company said
