Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

I don't buy a lot of games anymore, and not a lot of AAA games but there's definitely degree of qualities in them. And no, they don't all reach as much hype as Cyberpunk did.

And would def have picked up Cyberpunk even if the hype hadn't reached as high as it did. I like cyberpunk games.

And I don't think ignoring everything in a game that isn't a flaw is particular more compelling than ignoring everything that is a flaw. It's pretty good. It's not a hyper innovative master piece, but it's not broken garbage either. If you like cyberpunk and open world shooters I recommend it, if you don't buy something else. If you like the setting but wanted a more interactive game I'd recommend the tabletop as it looks pretty cool. If you wanna keep complaining about it I guess I'll leave you to it.
that's like giving a book a pass that's riddled with spelling mistakes, shit typesetting and constantly dropping pages due to shoddy binding but "has an acceptable story in a genre I like". why would anyone ever complain about that...

No and especially not in the cause of Cyberpunk because there's very little wrong with its portrayal. The story is pretty cool both in premise and execution, and the aesthetics are one the strongest points. The city is beautiful. If Cyberpunk was a book it'd have very good grammar. And even if you equated bugs with typos or poor binding that still wouldn't work because a book don't have a poor binding or bad typesetting magically improved over a month or two. And people who argued that a book which contains a few typos being absolutely unreadable would still be to much.

I actually could have sworn that was what they were gonna do, but then scrapped it to try to be an open world action game -- a GTA clone.
Yes, remember that originally it was announced as that but after 2018(?) things started to shift towards it being less and less of an RPG and that's when shazamposters started

It's weird that people (or really one guy here) still try to give it a pass after all this time, the game came and went and it's more interesting to dissect what the hell went wrong than the game itself
If you like the game then cool who cares but trying to reply to every dissenting opinion on it is a good way of looking like a dumbass for this game

I've started playing the game again after 2 months and they still haven't added an option to change the appearance of your character or fixed the bug that keeps switching the inhalers in the quickslot menu. :story:

"work place bullying"

he probably expected people to do their jobs and/or he didn't give a shit about pronouns
I’m late but that’s what I guessed too. Could’ve been like Shooter in the comics industry. A bunch of adult toddlerites got angry he said “do your jobs”. Now he’s the devil of the industry.

I could see something similar here.

I’m still wondering why the fast travel system are those dumb random teleport boxes, instead of making things like subways, trams, or buses. Bonus points if you have to press a button to skip the sequence, so you can just chill in a bus or subway if you want to without skipping the whole ride

I wondered about that too. Just let us go full Skyrim if you give that little fucks.

I have yet to play the Witcher, so idk, but does it have a fast travel system? And if so is it better than this? If it does, that’s doubly pathetic of them.

Witcher 3's fast travel is basically a teleport, so no, it's not really different.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided did this with the subway system.

Even a half baked DX game that was sabotaged by Square is better than 2077. Sad!

I'm playing Beneath A Steel Sky now and I'm enjoying it. I'm reminded of the good old days when Sierra 'Quest' games were fun (even if some of the puzzles were a stone bitch).

When i got Human Revolution for free on Ps4 i was a little hesitant because of the amount of gray/brown but found an extremely openish game world with fun gameplay.

Its sad that a game from 2011 can be less ambitious and so much more fulfillimg than what Cyberpunk became

Better narrative too. Built on the game before and that's even with squeenix cutting a third or more of their planned game so they could milk a quick release sequel.
