For what? Tails security is comparably weak to alternatives and anti-forensics is something only people named Alice and Bob realistically need. Enjoy having a non-persistent torrc, unique browser fingerprint and extremely limited usage due to the security model.

You can set up persistence with tails to save certain settings or preferences without really compromising your hardware all that much.
And if you go to their site it's not just for people who want to do illegal shit. It's also for people who could be considered political dissents where you could be shot or jailed for an opinion in certain countries such Somalia, North Korea, Iran, The UK, Germany or New Zealand.
Also I'm not sure what you mean when you say it's "weak to anti-forensics compared to alternatives" If you don't have persistence enabled your entire session using the drive is wiped every time you take it out.

My OSINT may be shit but even I knew back then to not use an email with my real name online because that's an easy way to snag someone's name. Even then with your gmail and such, be wary of the name you have on your gmail because your email could be something like "ndserd23432@gmail.com" yet if your name is "Sean Steinbeck" on your private gmail, they can pull that out. Even without Epieos, I was able to dox this faggot of a YouTuber with 1 million subs because he forgot to not use his real name. I found it through a screenshot he shared of his gmail. His name was connected to a custom university page and he mentioned his state quite a bit so I was able to find his ass. That dox was fairly easy tbh

If you do have a more distinct name, it will be easier to dox you but if you have a common and generic one, it should be harder. Despite this, it's not worth the risk exposing your name at all.

Also be careful when posting irl pictures as someone can make a profile out of it especially if it's something in your local area. They can check local landmarks or even the flora/fauna of the area. Most doxxers won't find shit unless if they have turbo-autism.

I knew to separate work and non-work emails alike so I don't get fucked. Have a separate gmail for finances from the email you use for online related stuff.

Another note is to refrain from archiving your own page because someone can try looking up an archive to see if you posted something that can help them with their dox attempt. You can scrub all of your irl pictures but if they're archived on an internet archiving site, then the pictures are still gonna be there

Yeah, it works alright. Although the onion site is kinda slow, and you'll often find yourself running into a bunch of CAPTCHAs if you open links to other websites while using TOR.

I just recommend paying for a VPN (posters here often recommend Mullvad or ProtonVPN). It's not expensive.
ProtonVPN has a free tier that's surprisingly good, if you want to try that out.

I'm not an expert, but I've been using Brave for a few years now and am very happy with it. And I also used Brave's Tor window to access KF throughout the #DropKiwiFarms deplatforming campaign, and it worked well.

Most of the complaints I've seen are about the Brave Rewards / cryptocurrency stuff (which I recommend you turn off). I've seen the occasional schizo/paranoid person claim Brave is a honeypot or untrustworthy - without any real evidence. But again, I'm not an expert. You can ask in the Brave Browser thread, and posters there will likely know more.

If your only concern is hiding your IP while accessing KF, then you don't need to worry about anything "shady" with Brave (IMO).

Tor isn't a VPN. If all you are doing is going on KF then you are completely fine. The difference is that Brave does a worse job at preventing fingerprinting. When you use the Tor browser you are assuming the same fingerprint for the most part of every other Tor user. That is why you see that the browser window is set to a certain size so that your screen dimensions can't be used as something to identify you.

Brave also keeps your settings consistent by default where Tor browser is a new identity each time you select a new identity.

For browsing the forum you are fine. If you are a little paranoid just using Tor browser is a good idea since it is configured more for anonymity.

ProtonMail or cock.li don't require a phone number to sign up, and they won't give you grief for using Tor/VPN to access.

I'm reconsidering my telephony situation. Something that's pissed me off has been the inability to maintain several phone numbers cheaply, but I'm currently exploring a solution with VoIP.ms and Linphone. Ideally I'd have my personal number ported to VoIP; one for banks, doctors, etc.; one for business; and one I give to randos like first dates or craigslist people. This is kind of an advanced opsec topic and I still need to figure out mobile data. Using the SIM number for friends and Google Voice for everything else isn't good enough.

A lot of opsec happens behind the scenes and involves, e.g., receiving mail with PO boxes and sending EINs to clients instead of SSNs by using LLCs for business.

While that might keep your account out of view from a simple search, namechanges aren't updated across quotes and are easily visible by clicking the counter-clockwise icon next to the username on a member's profile. I recommend completely starting anew.

If you want you can pay for a data removal service like EasyOptOuts and that is far cheaper than moving.

It took me about two business days to remove myself from all people finder sites using Michael Bazzell's workbook, paid services are unnecessary. PeopleConnect properties are a pain in the ass because their info is the most accurate and if your phone or email can't receive a code, you have to reach out to support. A tip that I learned, if you want to quickly doxx someone without waiting for infinite loading bars and a paywall, is to go through the data control interface to locate the record.

Not sure what you mean here but just to be clear, we are not hosted by DreamHost. We used to use them for domain registration but they dropped us a long while ago after trannies blamed us for Byuu killing himself.

From an opsec perspective using your own domain is not recommended as it creates a paper trail that leads back to your real life identity.
