I just typed "Cool Cat Derek Savage" into Google... OH MY...
"Cool Cat loves you"
-- um, can we maybe just be friends?
The question whether this is any better or even worse than Robert Stanek's "Bugville Critters" seems similar to whether one would prefer to jump into a manure pit or a dustbin full of decomposing junk food. Savage's retarded Tony-the-Tiger-Ripoff is about as creepy as any of Stanek's invertebrates, the fact that it has been given 3D existence via a dude in a fursuit may make an unbalanced man lose faith in humanity, though. Also, while Savage's web design skills resemble those of the Universe People or Timecube Guy, he seems to be more successful than Stanek, in that he succeeded at marketing and even movie-fying his orange cosmic horror.
Nonetheless, there does not seem to be a way to order any of his books. They all seem to be frozen in a "coming soon" vaporware state...
"Sir, we'd rather go back to Iraq."
At least it's not the least respected publication for singles...
I think he was better at posing naked than at creating beloved children's books characters...
