For example- If a co-worker said he liked asphyxiation, you would be uneasy with that info.

If a long time pal divulges that info after a few drinks, you would probably be fine with it.

If you're on a forum that mocks lolcows and you sperg about the nuanced differences of diaper simulation. People may think you enjoy shitting yourself.

It's all about context (unless it's a fetish thats never kosher, like this one)

I personally can't say that I entirely disagree with you entirely on this one since I find this fetish so particularly bizarre, I just think it's a slippery slope to demonize deviancy on the same level as we do pedophilia.

If I'm being really honest with myself, if I met someone who I somehow knew had this fetish, would I personally want extended contact with them or to shake their hands? No. But on a larger scale I don't think it would be fair to assume they were all insane pedophiles. Human sexuality is really really weird, and I really hesitate to condemn something wholesale when the majority of people who have this fetish might be much more mild and sane-minded than the ABDL forum.

Pedophilia involves the sexual abuse of children. The children are the object and recipients of the sexual attention. If you remove children entirely from the equation and just have two adults objectifying each-other in a role-play, it's not pedophilia.
