Well thats the sort of people coming out of colleges these days, they aren't told how to think, they are told what to think. And when they get into the big wide world, their peer group has a handy set of resources that will continue to tell them what to think through their social media feed. The social media feed will demonize and dehumanize those who take an opposite stance, and brand them the "infidels".
And when the "Infidels" show up on their social feed, they have been told by the media what the identifiers are for these people, and call them racist/bigot etc... and block them, because not only has social media told them the "truth" that they are in the right already, but their peer group frowns upon prolonged interaction with them, since it may cause them to become "confused" and start to question things, this is obviously harmful.
