I mean MauLer does make really really long pedantic videos but if he didn't do that I don't think people would watch/listen to his junk since for me I like to listen to people bitch about stuff as my background noise

I'm sorry, this is months late, but I like Hitman, so ignore the doctor prescribed spergery at your discretion. But like, do people not understand that a game called Hitman is about a killer? It's not like Manhunt, but you're paid in cash for killing people, he's cold.
Agent 47 is a professional, and the games want you to play that way, sure you can go ham with an assault rifle on crowds of people like you can in the madigras level in Blood Money or the Chinatown level of Absolution, it only serves to do 3 things, draw the enemies in, waste valuable ammo, and lower your score. The game encourages you to only kill necessary targets, either guards/thugs in your way if you can't sneak past or get caught, but optimally the actual target so you get through the level using disguises and thinking ahead a little bit to get through without drawing suspicion and attention, or even your guns like in the theater level in Blood Money as killing even one unnecessary person prevents you from getting the silent assassin rank.
And speaking of Blood Money, remember that level at that kinky heaven/hell themed party that nobody ever describes as problematic? You can gun down exotic dancers of with either gender, drag them around and pose them in funny ways, but I haven't heard anyone call it problematic for kinkshaming, or demeaning sex workers, or satanists or whatever, but a few random strippers in a short segment of the game that are easy to bypass well what kind of monster are you?

Correct this oldfag if he's wrong on this one, but wasn't a major arc of 47's character that he eventually left his life of contract killing and tried to leave it behind him, only to be forcibly dragged back into it?

They'll say how the game lets you kill a stripper that its morally wrong even though you get penalties for doing so. Beyond that idea, it's nothing more than the likes of individuals like Olsen trying to look all moral when in reality they're just being self-righteous idiots who are likely to make a sex worker think a person like Olsen is nothing more than a tool trying to look like he cares about the plight of a stripper when he tries to include a video game as his reason to care about the plight of sex workers. Can't wait to see what other pseudo-intellectual drivel he'll try to use in supporting his arguments over a game where you must strive to be the perfect definition of a silent assassin.

I fucking watched the entire Mauler video, and I can tell you that, as long and pedantic and repetitive as the videoes got, his points were very well made and he gave specific examples to prove his arguments. All these fuckers can do is wisecrack about how Mauler is obsessed with HBomb or how stupidly long the video is.

Its one of the odder things about him. Hes clearly got a uni level education but he's a c grade graduate. I find him very annoying to read because his style and approach looks like my peers but he never actually delivers. Nothing he's ever said sounds better than aything i could write while hungover in 1st year of college
I think looking at him, that he's been taught a great deal of information and can build it into a passable essay it but has never considered what hes been told.
I really sympethize for my medieval feminist lecturer because of him as i get how fucking boring my essays where now.

I'll be real I don't think your grades in college matter at all. I've known straight A people who are goddamn morons.

The problem with folks like Dan is that he's trying so hard to sound what he thinks what a really smart person sounds like, instead of just sounding like a normal fucking person. And it makes it really evident that he's not that fucking smart.

I agree It's possible to be dumbass A grade on the level he operates but Dans video's are about C grade. If I was to guess I'd say Dan hovers about 3-4 on Blooms taxonemy as he factually understands what he's been taught but never really goes to 5-6 where he can think beyond the concept and critique it or integrate it into his larger worldview. You could explain to him how a car works but he could never apply that knowledgue beyond building one by rote.
Combined with disproportional reaction to trivial events and you get a man without a country, too pretentious and 'woke' for his actual peers but not smart enough to actually talk shop with the people who wants to be like and far too highly strung to get along with anyone.

In short a pseudo intellectual
