That's pretty much the backbone of the reason behind SJWs desperately trying to always shut down criticism pointing out holes in their logic. To be an SJW you need to somehow be able to look at reality and completely ignore some major facet in society, culture, or whatever, on such a level that what you argue for can't actually happen so long as that thing exists. Such as 'miss soggy knees' (because it's 1:30 am and I don't feel like trying to spell the real word) in gaming, when a closer examination reveals that the entire side accusing gamers of harassment not only has flimsy to non-existent evidence but is in fact largely the actual harassers to a T.

I think Social Justice attracts people who want public recognition and power, it's like a sort of loose knit low-rent scientology in a way. You work your way into the group, because you want to be featured on all the websites and get all the sweet offers. But Social Justice is also a weapon, to silence critics, to demonize opposing arguments, and if it comes down to it, to oust you from the group for suddenly not being woke enough; which usually goes hand in hand with a social justice type having a moment of clarity and saying "hey we are assholes for exiling this trans person just because they have different opinions".

They threaten you with the woke stick to bring you back in line, otherwise you social connections, your sweet company endorsements, go down the drain, and you are just a broke mentally ill person delivering pizza. And for these people, that online identity and power, that belonging to the woke clique, is everything to them.

However in Dan's case, as well as in a few others, I think there are some that are "True Believers" and don't realize the people around them are just manipulators who want to retain their hold of power on their clique. They actively police the group, and report back to their clique leaders about whos doing what.

If they let GG have a chance to speak, it'd be to these spergs that "you let crypto-fascist speak". Nevermind the fact it's just angry neckbeards. Neutral people like Erik Kain and Count Jackula had their own opinions of GG, such as seeing both sides as awful or wanting to understand more on what this one side is beyond what another group says it is but because their neutrality also means wanting to understand what the other group thought beyond one side's own point of view, it can lead to spergs thinking this neutral must be alt-right (as an added kicker to how laughable that is with the people I used, Erik Kain is a democrat that shits on Trump. Before they went with the whole "crypto-fascist" angle, their argument was, if anything, even more retarded: That even if you had legit good points on the shit Quinn and company were whining about - points that debunked them entirely (like the "we're so harassed!" angle), you weren't allowed to discuss those points because Quinn was being harassed. Yes, I'm serious, that's an actual fucking angle they went with.


Watch Arthur Chu trying to run interference after Wu's disastrous appearance on the David Pakman show to see that shit in real time (and correspondingly, why Anti-GGers avoided anyone who wasn't going to show them complete supplication like Mark Zuckerburg trying to dodge a federal indictment).

tbh I always thought the bomb threat was probably an imageboard they had pissed off, by that point GG had burned a lot of chan bridges and a healthy number of those guys thought it was funny to start fucking with them on a fairly regular basis. That was roughly the same time Ralph was "excommunicated" from everything, wasn't it?

I never saw the proof myself, but he was always the most obvious suspect at the time. Which was crazy, it was a big risk with how much easier it is to catch bomb threat call-ins nowadays & he really had nothing to gain.

I'm personally hoping that Dan gives something away by accident that allows people to tie him to another sex pest he's covered for in the past, if only because then the Something Awful internet critic forum will immediately try and cover it up and ban anyone who posts about it.

On a similar note, isn’t it interesting how much you can actually get away with if you’re “one of them”? Between hbomberguy being a sexual harassment apologist, Nyberg being a pedo and dogfucker and Ian Miles Cheong being a literal nazi, it almost seems to me like it doesn’t actually matter what you do as long as long as you pay lip service and attack the right people.

To be fair Devin Faraci was quickly disposed of after his antics came to light. That hit the mainstream, though, which likely didn't help.
