I would bet that someone important at Youtube loves them for not only producing profitable content but "fighting the good fight". Previous popular youtube genres were things they didn't like: evil nazi gamers like Pewdiepie and Jontron and commentary edgelords making fun of autistic children like Leafy, and you often hear things about how Youtube changed the algorithm and it screwed over the gaming and commentary genres, ultimately contributing to their decline in popularity.

This is probably one of Dan’s dumber takes. No “gamers” have not forgotten SimCity, Civ, Anno 2070 etc.

What happened was casuals got involved in gaming and became the largest segment of the gaming population (not women). They only want CoD, Assassins Creed, Halo, etc. A good portion of PC gamers still play those strat games or they wouldn’t keep making them, idiot.
 
A majority of what I play are 2D platformers, so I have no idea what he's talking about.

Also, trying to mathematically prove that a movie is the worst? I hope he's doing that ironically, because that's the type of shit I'd expect Sheldon Cooper to do and then afterwards have soyboy fuck face weirdos complain that TBBT is "black face for nerds!".

I don't think he kept playing it once he realized there was no CP in it.

He certainly never played it long enough to have a nuclear reactor melt down, a Godzilla attack, tornados and earthquakes, and raise taxes as high as you can all at the same time.

Well Dans clearly never heard of sports or puzzle games, but how does he know what they're offended by anyway? He's on one of those chain blocks, seethes with rage at the presence of a GG's ghost and shuts down any attempts at dialogue. The closest he gets to interacting with Gamers is Breadtubes clucking circles. His opinions on what gamers do and do not like is about as on point as my thoughts on the Sami folk music scene except I don't proactively try to avoid Sami music.

And let's not forget the entire genre of simulator games that are popular in parts of Europe, or the weird simulation games like Soda Drinker Pro, racing games, flight sims, rhythm games as well. To nobody's shock, Dan Olsen is a tardlet
