Personally, I'm sympathetic to the shelter. I'm sure they get tons of superficially weird people there. The biggest failure of their process was not doing address verification. And per an AMA done on reddit, it sounds like that's their main idea for changes going forward (Which I think is good)

I agree that the dog should've been removed. Not to moralfag but I disagree with the a-logs stealing it from him. The theft directly led to a meltdown where he beat the shit out himself in a Walmart, caused a bit of damage, and had to be subdued by their security.
