He's not violent but he's slowly getting there, a mixture of homelessness, being "abandoned" by fuck ass Bob, un attended/treated mental conditions, enabling of his gradualy increasing delusions and a lack of impulse control is slowly shifting him more and more into physical altercations.
Like the event at panera, what could have possibly transpired if he just so happened to be holding something sharp in his hands, and if the manager was alone, with no one there to deter Daniel, when he turned around and got rushed by him.

Oh he's always going to be a massive pussy too scared for a head on confrontation, that's why my only realistic fear when it comes to Daniel is him losing it and potentially killing some random employ or passer-by by striking them from behind with something if they turn their backs to him.

Managment will most likely keep escalating for something major to happen in the coming weeks before the court dates, likely out of fear of losing their acess to him for some time, and this is most likely how it will end, with Daniel snapping and finally having an actual concrete reason to never be allowed to leave a mental ins.
