The system has failed him if Daniel is ever found competent. He has a child’s mind and no amount of treatment will fix that. However, can’t rule out it happening given how poorly mental health is addressed nowadays. Permanent holds are very expensive and the system appears geared towards just throwing these people back out into society to reduce costs. Which is how we ended up in this situation to begin with.

It depends on if they could establish his current level of mental illness predates his criminal actions, and if they can convince a jury he didn't know the difference between right and wrong when he committed the charged act(s).

It actually doesn't matter just how mentally ill he was at the time of the criminal act(s), the only question will be 'did the accused know the act(s) were wrong when he committed it/them?'
 
I think it's a good thing that this has happened to him, for several reasons. Daniel's been disintegrating for years and clearly can't exist in the normal world at this point. He needs to be somewhere he can't hurt himself or anyone else. And for all the trolls out there, this is a good reminder that threatening the government isn't something they'll just file away under "crazy guy saying crazy things"

I'm pretty firm in my stance of weens and a logs not touching the cow, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't love Alex Jones running his schtick on cows. Ambushing them, calling them for interviews, reporting on them. I'd probably pay money to see that.

Yeah, I figure it didn't take long for them to realize that Daniel's perception of reality is abysmally twisted, if not completely broken. He may never understand the situation he's in. I hope they come to an understanding that he doesn't need punishment, but he does need protection and cannot function in society. It's heartbreaking, but the alternative is worse.

It's terrible that this was the best outcome of a mentally ill man's life, filled with wreaking havoc on himself and everyone around him.
There's unfortunately plenty of broken, homeless individuals walking the streets every day, but his case was unique in the sense where he had influence in his actions. He was manipulated for years by sociopaths, further exacerbating his psychological condition and state, and frankly I'm shocked he's still alive. I thought for sure someone would kill him one day or he'd die of something horrible. I hope he received adequate medical care there as well. His lifestyle was destroying his body.

Honestly shocked he didn't get picked up like three or four months sooner, he'd been saying outrageous shit on tiktok for over a year or more before he got picked up.

Isn't it exceedingly difficult to get NGRI rulings in the US though? Larsen's nuts, but I don't think he'd meet the threshold, but I could be wrong.

Alex Jones is friends with multiple youtubers who cover guns, news and internet drama. Alex Jones not covering cows is a little surprising. As for Weens and logs. Daniel Larson's weens are the worst. They keep bailing him out of jail and sending him money and possibly CP judging by Weens of his getting arrested by the FBI.

That's what he needs. Some people are just completely unfit for society and need to be removed from it. It's for the greater good.

Honestly that's the best thing for him. It's clearly evident that he can't live on his own, or even in group homes or homeless shelters. I know people will be crying the content is gone, but the content was watching a mentally ill pedophile getting gaslit by neghole-pozzing redditors. It was like a sad, weird Truman show, and it's only a matter of time before he ends up getting killed and ruining someone else's life with jail time / records, or hurting someone else, probably a kid.
